Chapter 1074 Peaceful Days
Seeing the lilies in the vase, Cecilia excitedly ran over, bent down, and inhaled the rich fragrance of the lilies. She noticed that the bouquet was full of large blooms, some in full bloom and others still in bud. The pure white flowers were elegant and delicate, very beautiful.
At this moment, Freya walked out of the kitchen and saw Cecilia smiling at the lilies. She then said with a smile, "Ms. Thorne, you're back? These lilies are really beautiful. I'm glad you like them!"
Hearing this, Cecilia turned to Freya and asked, "Freya, thank you. Lilies are my favorite."
But Freya replied, "You don't need to thank me. I didn't buy these flowers. Mr. Fields sent them over."
Hearing this, the smile on Cecilia's face froze. She thought, 'Yes, how would Freya know that lilies are my favorite? Daryl knows I like lilies, but when we were together, I never let him buy lilies for me because they are really expensive and not very practical. Why does he suddenly send me flowers? And he's still in Cobblestone City. Is he trying to make amends? Even if he is trying to make amends, I won't forgive him.'
Cecilia straightened her back and didn't look at the lilies in the vase again.
Then, Freya called Cecilia to dinner.
As soon as Cecilia sat at the dining table, Freya placed a steak in front of her.
Seeing the steak on the plate, Cecilia asked in surprise, "Freya, did you make steak?"
Freya blinked and replied, "Douglas instructed me to. He said it's your favorite."
Upon hearing this, Cecilia frowned. 'This Douglas seems to know everything. How does he know so much? It must be Daryl who tells him, right?'
Although Cecilia was very annoyed with Daryl now, she couldn't resist the temptation of delicious food.
The next moment, Cecilia lowered her head and began to enjoy her favorite steak.
In the following days, Cecilia felt her life was very relaxed.
Because she didn't have to worry about Daryl suddenly coming back, and Freya cooked her favorite dishes every day, she even gained some weight.
Every night after taking a bath, Cecilia would go to bed and start reading "One Hundred Years of Solitude." She didn't have to worry about her life, and someone took care of her. She had never lived such a life before.
Gradually, Cecilia came out of the depression of losing her virginity.
One evening, Cecilia came back from school.
As soon as Cecilia changed her shoes, Freya rushed out in a hurry and grabbed Cecilia's arm. "Ms. Thorne."
"Freya, what's wrong?" Seeing Freya's anxious look, Cecilia felt a little panicked.
The next moment, Freya pulled Cecilia upstairs. "I'll take you to see, and you'll understand."
The more Freya spoke, the more confused Cecilia became. She could only follow Freya upstairs with suspicion.
Freya pulled Cecilia into the second-floor walk-in closet and then opened all the closet doors in front of Cecilia.
The next moment, what appeared before Cecilia's eyes was a walk-in closet that was originally almost empty but now was almost filled with various women's clothing, which included a variety of styles for different seasons.
There were also dozens of pairs of shoes for all seasons, various bags, underwear, and so on.
In short, Cecilia's eyes showed a hint of amazement. She had never seen so many clothes, shoes, and bags outside of TV or a shopping mall.
"Where did all these clothes and shoes come from?" Cecilia asked in confusion the next moment.
At this time, Freya answered joyfully, "Douglas had the department store manager personally deliver them, and all these clothes and shoes are in your size. It must be Mr. Fields who bought them for you."
Hearing this, Cecilia frowned. 'What does Daryl mean? Is he trying to win me over with these things? If so, he's gravely mistaken. I may be humble, but I can't be won over with these things.'
At this time, Freya clasped her hands together and exclaimed, "Oh my, Ms. Thorne, you are so lucky to have so many clothes, and you won't be able to wear them all in a lifetime!"
Hearing this, Cecilia glanced at Freya and said, "If you like them, you can wear them!"
After saying that, Cecilia turned and left.
After Cecilia left, Freya looked at the clothes in the walk-in closet, shook her head, and sighed. Then she clasped her hands around her head and said, "I'd have to be split in half to wear all these clothes!"
After saying that, Freya left the walk-in closet dejectedly.
In Cobblestone City, a man in a black coat and black sunglasses strolled down a street where doves were flying.
Daryl had been in Cobblestone City for more than a week.
He suddenly came here to calm his mind.
In Northstar City, he could no longer face Cecilia.
He had loved her and hated her. When he found out she was a virgin, his heart was shaken. He felt regret, pity, and confusion.
Therefore, he came to Cobblestone City, because in Northstar City, he was going crazy wanting to see her, but he restrained his feelings because, in his heart, she was still a flirtatious woman.
However, he still couldn't help but care for her and pity her.
Only by finding a place with no one around could he calm his mind.
The phone rang, and Daryl took out his phone to answer the call.
"Mr. Fields, everything you instructed has been completed." Douglas' voice came from the other end.
"Is she doing well?" Daryl's eyes scanned the surroundings, but his mind was filled with images of Cecilia.
"Very well," Douglas replied.
Hearing this, Daryl hung up and then looked at the doves flying into the sky.
A few days later, Cecilia suddenly received a call from Douglas.
"Hello?" Cecilia felt a bit nervous when she received Douglas' call.
It had been about ten days, and her life had been very peaceful. Douglas had never disturbed her. Today, he called, so there must be something.
Sure enough, Douglas then said, "Ms. Thorne, Mr. Fields is coming back on an afternoon flight and will be back at the villa for dinner. Please prepare."
Hearing this, Cecilia immediately frowned. "Okay."
After hanging up, Cecilia's mood instantly soured.
'Why is he coming back so soon, and he wants to come back for dinner?' Cecilia immediately felt troubled.
