Thinking about running on the beach under the blue sky and clear sea soon, Susan felt extremely excited. Plus, she would be with her best friend, and of course, him. At this moment, she didn't seem to mind him as much.
At this time, Seb sighed and then sat down next to Susan, complaining, "Leon used to be with me 24/7 for a whole year without any complaints. Now that he has a girlfriend, suddenly he's complaining about working a few extra days. If I didn't let Isabella come, he probably would have quit on the spot."
"Don't be ridiculous," Susan said, rolling her eyes. "Leon is incredibly dedicated. You can't expect someone to be at your beck and call every minute of every day. Everyone needs a life outside of work."
"I'm just complaining. Why are you taking it seriously? Leon is my most satisfactory employee at Prosperity Group. Honestly, without him, I'd be in a tough spot," Seb said with a grin.
"Good that you know," Susan replied.
At this moment, Seb's phone suddenly rang.
Seb looked down and saw it was Leon calling. He smiled at Susan and said, "Looks like the tickets are booked."
Then he answered the call with a smile.
"Mr. Anderson, Ellie has booked the earliest flight, but it's at midnight tonight. You need to leave immediately," Leon's urgent voice came from the other end.
Hearing this, Seb glanced at his watch and said, "Great, come pick us up right away."
"I'm already on my way. You can come down in ten minutes," Leon replied.
"Okay," Seb said and then hung up the phone.
Susan looked at Seb, not hearing their conversation.
Seb looked at Susan and said, "Leon will pick us up in ten minutes. Ellie booked us a flight to Ivory City at midnight tonight."
Hearing this, Susan was completely stunned!
She suddenly stood up, holding her head with both hands, and looked around the apartment. "Ten minutes? How can I pack in time? Are you kidding me? I have no idea where to start!"
Susan was so flustered that she didn't know whether to pack clothes or toiletries.
At this moment, Seb suddenly grabbed Susan's shoulders and said with a smile, "You don't need to pack anything. Just bring your passport and driver's license. I'll take care of everything else!"
Looking into his bright eyes and white teeth, Susan frowned and said, "Buy everything there? That's wasteful, and the clothes and stuff won't be convenient."
"If we keep dawdling, the plane won't wait for us," Seb said with a smile.
"Oh no, two minutes have already passed," Susan said, pushing Seb away and running into the bedroom to find her passport and driver's license.
Susan searched for several minutes and found her driver's license but not her passport. She immediately turned and walked to the bedroom door, addressing Seb, who was sitting leisurely on the couch, "I forgot where I put my passport. Can I just bring my driver's license?"
Hearing this, Seb looked at Susan and said, "The plan is to head to Aelistania after New Year's in Ivory City, to see Hayden and Spring."
Hearing this, Susan immediately turned and started searching the bedroom again.
A few minutes later, Susan finally found her passport in a drawer.
Susan then opened the closet to find some clothes.
At this moment, Seb walked in, grabbed Susan's hand, closed the closet, and draped a coat over her shoulders. "Leon is almost here. We need to leave now!"
"You should let me bring a few clothes and some skincare products..." Susan was still talking as Seb pulled her out the door.
Two minutes later, Seb and Susan were already in Leon's car.
This time, Leon was driving, Seb was in the passenger seat, and Susan and Isabella were in the back seat.
Sitting in the back seat, Isabella was overjoyed and said to Susan, "I've never been to Ivory City before. I'm so excited to spend New Year's there!"
Seeing Isabella so happy in the rearview mirror, Leon smiled and shook his head. "Isabella hasn't seen much of the world."
"Then you should take her out more," Seb said with a low laugh.
"True," Leon nodded.
Susan vaguely heard the two men in front talking about her and Isabella, so she looked at them and asked, "What are you guys whispering about?"
"Nothing, just chatting," Seb quickly replied.
Hearing this, Susan rolled her eyes at Seb in the front.
Then Susan asked Isabella, "Did you bring any luggage?"
Hearing this, Isabella rolled her eyes and said, "I just brought a couple of clothes and my usual skincare products. I didn't have time to pack anything."
Susan complained even more, "I only brought my passport and driver's license."
"What? You packed even less than I did?" Isabella rolled her eyes again.
"He said we'd buy everything there," Susan said helplessly.
Hearing this, Isabella teased in a low voice, "Your man has money. You can spend it freely, okay?"
"What are you talking about? I'm single now," Susan quickly clarified in a low voice.
"Going on a trip together and still single? Do you think I'm stupid?" Isabella laughed.
Susan rolled her eyes at Isabella and could only keep quiet.
Isabella, however, remained excited the whole way because she had never been to the beach in her life.
Before dawn, the four of them finally landed at Ivory City Airport.
After picking up their luggage and leaving the airport, the sky was already turning blue.
Isabella and Susan immediately complained, "Why is it so hot?"
Then Isabella and Susan took off their shirts and sweaters, revealing sleeveless tops underneath. They also took off their wool skirts, leaving only thin leggings. But there was no choice; they couldn't bear the heat!
Seeing Isabella's tank top was a bit revealing, Leon quickly stepped forward and draped a shirt over her shoulders.
"What are you doing? I'm about to die from the heat," Isabella said angrily, taking the shirt off her shoulders and throwing it at Leon.
"Can you be a bit more reserved? There are a lot of people here!" Leon insisted on covering Isabella with the shirt.
Isabella struggled but couldn't win, so she loudly protested, "How am I not reserved? Look at the women here; they're all dressed like this! Look at that one over there, she's even more revealing than me."
