Chapter 713 The Big Bad Wolf

It was so late, and suddenly there was a figure behind her. Susan was startled!

She turned around quickly, and when she saw who had followed her into the elevator, she couldn't help but frown.

"Why haven't you gone back yet?" Susan asked in surprise.

Seb reached out and pressed the button for Susan's floor, saying matter-of-factly, "It's so late, I don't feel like driving. I'll just crash at your place for the night."

Hearing this, Susan found it hard to either refuse or agree.

She looked up at his tall back, knowing he didn't want to leave her and had found this excuse. Her heart felt warm, but also sad, as she couldn't even define their relationship anymore.

Soon, the elevator reached Susan's floor.

Susan was lost in thought as she exited the elevator and stood in front of her door, not even realizing she needed to get her keys.

It wasn't until Seb waved his hand in front of her eyes. "What are you thinking about? Open the door."

"Oh." Susan quickly dug out her keys from her purse and opened the door.

After changing into slippers and taking off her coat, Susan went straight to the kitchen to get some water.

While Susan was staring blankly at the water in her glass, a pair of strong arms gently wrapped around her waist from behind.

Feeling his warmth, Susan leaned her body against the solid wall of flesh behind her.

After a moment of silence, Seb's voice sounded in her ear. "You don't want to stay at my place, so I had to come to yours with you."

"I..." Susan wanted to explain.

But Seb interrupted her, "I know you don't want to go back to the way things were. Living alone makes you feel more at ease."

His understanding warmed her. "It's easier for you too," she admitted softly. "You don't have to feel guilty all the time."

Hearing this, Seb hesitated for a moment before saying, "Susan, I'm sorry!"

"It's not your fault. Blame it on fate. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be able to live peacefully with myself either," Susan said understandingly.

"But we love each other so much!" Seb frowned and turned Susan's shoulders to face him.

Meeting Seb's pained gaze, Susan lowered her eyes. "Can't we just...be like this for now? See each other, follow our hearts, but also...give your mother some peace?"

"That would be too unfair to you. I'm being too selfish," Seb said, holding Susan in his arms and choking up.

Leaning in his embrace, Susan spoke with deep emotion, "It's not unfair, and you're not selfish. This is a choice we both made. I know if I asked you to remarry me, you'd live with guilt for the rest of your life, and you wouldn't be happy. If you're not happy, I can't be happy either. Maybe this is our fate. Of course, if you meet another woman you love in the future, just let me know, and I'll disappear from your life. Just please, don't hide it from me!"

At this point, Susan's eyes welled up.

Even though she knew that day might be far off, Susan couldn't help but tear up.

Hearing Susan's sobs in his arms, Seb hugged her tightly and vowed, "That day will never come. I will never fall in love with anyone else!"

At this moment, Susan couldn't help but start to act spoiled, crying, "You never know. I'm already over thirty. In a few years, I'll be old and unattractive. Won't you find a young girl then?"

At this point, Seb gently wiped the tears from Susan's cheeks with his thumb, his actions tender and his tone light-hearted. "A few years? You're already old and unattractive now!"

Hearing this, Susan immediately pushed Seb away, pouting, "I knew it! You're starting to dislike me because I'm old. Go find an eighteen-year-old girl now!"

Seb looked at Susan's angry demeanor and laughed, saying, "If I really went, you'd cry your eyes out!"

Hearing this, Susan immediately turned her back, stubbornly saying, "Go, go, go. If you leave, I'll be so happy!"

At this point, Seb took a step forward, craning his neck to look at Susan's face. "Then I'll really go."

"Get lost!" Susan said irritably.

Seb looked at Susan and smiled, then retreated to the kitchen door. "You sure? I'm leaving."

"Go on then!" she said, trying to sound irritated.

The next moment, there was no sound behind her.

Susan turned around, and sure enough, there was no one in the kitchen.

At this moment, the sound of the front door opening and closing suddenly came from outside the kitchen.

Hearing this, Susan's heart tightened!

No way? Did he really leave?

The next moment, Susan quickly walked out of the kitchen.

Sure enough, the living room was empty, and there was no one there.

Susan then turned and went into the bedroom, but there was no one there either.

At this moment, Susan's heart suddenly felt empty, and she pouted, muttering to herself, "Seb, I told you to leave, and you really left?"

Just when Susan was feeling very down, a deep, pleasant voice suddenly came from behind her. "I really don't understand you women. Clearly, you don't want me to leave, but you still tell me to go. If I listen to you, it's wrong. If I don't listen to you, it's still wrong. I really don't know what to do."

Hearing Seb's words from behind, the corners of Susan's mouth immediately turned up.

He hadn't left; he was hiding. She knew he wouldn't leave.

But she couldn't show how happy she was, or he would get even more smug.

The next moment, Susan turned around fiercely and looked at Seb, saying, "That's because you're stupid, okay?"

"And whose fault is that?" he said, grinning. He pounced, capturing her in a hug and falling back onto the bed, taking her with him.

"Ah." Susan screamed as she fell onto the soft bed. Fortunately, the mattress was of good quality, and the bed didn't collapse.

The next moment, as Susan was still in shock, he began to passionately kiss her forehead, cheeks, and neck.

"What are you doing? I haven't showered yet. Let go of me!" Susan pushed against Seb, but how could she move him?

"It'll be the same if you shower afterward," Seb said, starting to pull at Susan's clothes.

"No!" Seeing he was serious, Susan immediately shouted.

This time, Seb stopped, looking down at Susan with a puzzled gaze.
