Chapter 410 Jealousy
Seeing that sleek black luxury car up ahead, Susan couldn't help but scrunch her face.
Then, a man in a black suit hopped out of the driver's seat, strutted around the car, and swung open the rear door.
Next moment, a tall guy in a black trench coat stepped out from the back seat, his sharp eyes zeroing in on them.
Isabella spotted Seb and quickly whispered to Susan, "Seb's here to pick you up."
Of course Susan saw him too. She didn't expect him to just pop up like that. How did he even know where she was?
As soon as she looked up, their eyes locked. Susan felt his gaze was icy and intense, and he looked like he was in a foul mood. He just stood there, staring them down, not moving an inch.
Derek suddenly realized his car was blocked by another and couldn't help but frown.
Right then, Leon showed up as instructed.
"Ms. Wilson, Mr. Anderson is here to pick you up," Leon said to Susan.
Hearing this, Susan was taken aback for a moment.
Leon continued, "Ms. Wilson, Miss Brown, please get in the car."
At this point, Isabella tugged at Susan's sleeve.
Susan then looked up and smiled at Derek. "Sorry, Mr. Lopez, someone's here to pick us up, so we won't be taking your car."
Derek was a bit puzzled. He glanced at Seb and noticed the Bentley in front, which was hard to miss. He knew anyone who could afford such a ride was definitely not your average Joe.
Derek then smiled and said, "In that case, I won't drive you. By the way, that Mr. Anderson is..."
"He's the father of my kids," Susan explained, feeling a bit awkward.
That's all she could say for now. She couldn't exactly call him her boyfriend, right? But everyone in the industry knew she was divorced and had kids.
"So, it's your husband. My bad!" Derek quickly nodded, getting the picture.
Then, Susan and Isabella turned and walked over.
Seeing them approach, Seb got into the car first.
Leon stepped forward and opened the front passenger door and the other rear door. Naturally, Isabella sat in the front passenger seat, while Susan took the other side of the back seat.
The car then sped down the road. Even though there were four people in the car, it was dead silent, with no one saying a word.
Susan and Seb each sat on one side of the back seat, the wide seats keeping them a good three feet apart.
Seb's face looked pretty sour. After glancing at him, Susan couldn't be bothered to look at him again and kept her eyes on the night view outside the window.
Isabella's eyes darted around several times, sensing the tense vibe in the car, but she didn't know what to say. She thought to herself, 'Seb and Susan must be having a fight recently.'
At this moment, Isabella wanted to lighten the mood, so she said, "Susan, don't you think Mr. Lopez, despite his age, can really hold his liquor? We were both about to get drunk, and he was still fine!"
Isabella said a couple of sentences, but Susan didn't respond, making her feel a bit awkward. She then added, "Mr. Lopez sings quite well, even better than young people, especially when it comes to love songs!"
At this point, Seb's face grew even darker.
Susan frowned, and the atmosphere in the car grew increasingly tense, but Isabella remained clueless.
Isabella was about to say something else, but Leon cut her off, whispering, "For God's sake, just shut up!"
Isabella shot him a glare.
The car was thick with awkward silence. After Isabella got out, the car turned around and headed back to the villa.
The two in the back seat still ignored each other, one looking pissed and the other stone-faced.
Finally, the car stopped in front of the villa's gate. Leon got out and opened the door for Seb.
Susan opened her own door and quickly headed inside.
By now, it was already midnight. Apart from a few dim wall lamps in the hallway, the villa was pitch dark.
No doubt, Hayden and Spring were already knocked out. Susan didn't want to wake them, and besides, she was in a foul mood, so she went straight upstairs.
She opened the door to the guest room, flicked on the light, and realized she had forgotten to change her shoes. She kicked off her high heels and walked barefoot to the bed. Just as she took off her coat, she heard Seb's footsteps behind her.
Without looking, she knew Seb had followed her in. Susan didn't even turn her head.
"So this is what you call working late on a case?" Seb finally couldn't hold back.
Susan couldn't be bothered to argue and coldly said, "Since you've seen it, why are you asking?"
Hearing this, Seb was livid. He grabbed her arm and yanked her to face him.
"What are you doing?" Susan tried to break free, but it was useless.
"Derek is over fifty. It's obvious he wants to take advantage of you. You still drank and sang with him. How much business can he give you? Is it worth it?" Seb's eyes were cold as ice.
His questioning made Susan super annoyed, and she snapped back, "Derek is not the kind of person you're thinking. Besides, having a meal and singing with a client is perfectly normal. Even you, as a big CEO, often have to dine, sing, and even play golf with business partners, don't you?"
Susan's words made Seb sneer. He let go of her hand and scoffed, "I'm a man. I naturally have social obligations I can't avoid. But you're different. You're a woman. I've seen many women who go out to get clients, and most of them rely on selling their looks. Today you can go out drinking and singing, and tomorrow you can sleep with them. You absolutely cannot become that kind of woman!"
Such contemptuous words made Susan furious. She shouted at him, "Seb, do you even hear yourself? You're not only insulting me but also yourself!"
"I'm saying this for your own good!" Seb yelled back.
"I'm an adult. I know what I'm doing. I don't need your reminders. Please leave. I want to rest!" Susan pointed towards the door, signaling for him to get out.
Seeing that Susan wasn't listening to him, the veins on Seb's forehead bulged with anger. "How much business can that Derek give you? Tell me, and I can give you ten times the business. From now on, you only need to entertain me at home!"
