Chapter 553 The Soup Tastes Great
Upon hearing this, Susan felt a pang in her heart but pretended to be strong as she said, "I won't keep you from your date. I have to go to work. I'm leaving now!"
With that, Susan turned and left.
Watching her departing figure, Seb furrowed.
After Susan rushed out the door, Ellie greeted her with a smile. "Mrs. Anderson, leaving so soon?"
Seeing Ellie, Susan forced a smile and said, "I have to go to work. I'm leaving now. Goodbye!"
"Goodbye!" Ellie quickly escorted Susan out.
Susan briskly walked out of the Prosperity Group building, finally slowing her pace as tears uncontrollably streamed down her face.
As she walked, Susan looked up at the sky, trying her best to keep herself from crying out loud.
She couldn't help but mock herself internally, 'What's there to cry about? Aren't you ashamed?'
But the more she thought about it, the more Susan couldn't control her emotions, feeling so wronged that she wanted to find a place to have a good cry.
After Susan left, Seb angrily took off his cashmere coat and threw it on the desk!
Pacing back and forth in front of his desk twice, Seb finally reached out and pressed the intercom.
"Ellie, come in for a moment!"
Soon, Ellie pushed the door open and entered.
"Mr. Anderson, what can I do for you?" Ellie had a smile on her face, but seeing Seb's expression, she immediately stopped smiling.
Seb angrily threw a stack of documents on the desk to the floor and furiously said, "Tell the HR and Planning departments to redo these documents. Are they incompetent? There are typos everywhere! If they don't want to do their jobs properly, they can clear their desks!"
Hearing this and seeing Seb's angry face, Ellie quickly squatted down to pick up the scattered materials.
At this moment, Seb calmed down a bit, and seeing Ellie had picked up all the documents, he touched his face with some regret and said, "I'm sorry, I got too emotional."
He really shouldn't have taken out his anger on Ellie.
Ellie replied, "I'll take them back and have them redone immediately!"
Seb nodded and said, "Have Leon come in."
"Yes." Ellie responded and then left the CEO's office.
Shortly after, Leon gently pushed the door open and entered.
He was very cautious because Ellie had already informed him that Seb was in a bad mood.
Looking up, he saw Seb sitting in the swivel chair, covering his eyes with his hand.
These days, Seb had been in a bad mood, and Leon had gotten used to it.
"Mr. Anderson, you called for me?" After a long silence, Leon stepped forward and asked softly.
"The travel case has my change of clothes. Take it to the hotel!" Seb said without even opening his eyes.
"Yes." Leon responded, then stepped forward to see the small travel case.
He recognized this travel case; it was from Seb's home, definitely brought by Susan. Ellie had already mentioned that after Susan came, Seb's mood became unstable.
"And take that thermos too!" Seb added.
Hearing this, Leon glanced at the thermos on the corner of the desk, stepped forward, and opened it. Inside was steaming hot soup.
Leon stared at the soup for a moment, then smiled and said, "Mr. Anderson, this is your favorite beef vegetable soup. It looks like it was simmered for a long time. You shouldn't waste Mrs. Anderson's effort!"
Hearing this, Seb, leaning back in the swivel chair, furrowed his brows, then opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling, seemingly deep in thought.
Seeing that his words had an effect on Seb, Leon quickly continued, "Mr. Anderson, this soup must have been simmered for at least three hours. Mrs. Anderson must have gotten up early to make it for you. I bet she even skipped work this morning. A woman as devoted as Mrs. Anderson... it's clear that you mean the world to her."
At this moment, Seb glared at Leon and said directly, "How much did she pay you to sing her praises?"
Leon chuckled, shaking his head. "My salary at Prosperity Group is more than enough, Mr. Anderson. I don't need any extra incentives. Besides," he added, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, "when you're unhappy, we all suffer for it."
Hearing this, Seb thought for a moment and then instructed, "Go to the HR and Planning departments and tell them to have the documents ready by tomorrow. No need to rush. I'm not a tyrant who demands they work overtime."
"Yes, I'll go right away." Leon smiled and left with the travel case.
After a moment, Seb's gaze fell on the thermos on the corner of the desk.
He couldn't help but smirk. He knew Leon well; he had intentionally left the thermos there.
The next moment, Seb got up from the swivel chair.
He walked around the desk to the thermos, stared at it for a moment, then reached out and opened the lid.
Instantly, the aroma from the thermos wafted out.
It was already noon, and Seb was a bit hungry. He found a bowl and poured out some beef vegetable soup.
Then, Seb sat on the sofa and started eating.
He initially just wanted to taste it, but the flavor was so good that he finished the entire bowl of beef vegetable soup in one go.
Then, he picked up the thermos and poured another bowl.
In no time, the beef vegetable soup in the thermos was down to the dregs.
At this moment, there was a knock on the office door from outside.
"Come in!" Seb leaned back on the sofa, looking satisfied.
The next moment, Ellie pushed open the door to the CEO's office and asked, "Mr. Anderson, it's lunchtime. What would you like to order for lunch today?"
Hearing this, Seb frowned and said, "No need to order anything."
"You're not having lunch?" Ellie asked, her eyes falling on the open thermos and the greasy bowl on the coffee table.
At this moment, Ellie finally understood. Seb wasn't not hungry; he was already full.
Looking at Seb half-lying on the sofa, clearly satisfied, it was obvious that Susan had brought the thermos, and Seb really liked Susan's cooking.
Realizing she had spoken out of turn, Ellie quickly nodded and said, "Alright, I'll go have my lunch then."
Seb didn't say anything, just waved her off.
After Ellie left, Seb took out his phone, stared at it for a long time, but ultimately didn't make the call.
