Chapter 612 Quarreling Lovers
George sat by the hospital bed and replied, "It's broken, yes. The doctor has already put a cast on it, and she's been sent home. She'll need to rest at home for about two months."
Hearing this, Susan anxiously asked, "Who took her home? How could she go home alone in that condition? Didn't you say you would make proper arrangements for her? Why did you come back so quickly?"
Susan was extremely worried, staring at George with a strange look, feeling a bit let down.
After speaking, Susan couldn't contain her temper and tried to get out of bed.
George quickly stopped her, holding her shoulders and said, "Calm down, listen to me first, okay?"
"Then hurry up and say it!" Susan urged anxiously.
George then lowered his head and smiled.
"Why are you smiling?" Susan was bewildered. "This is serious!"
George looked up and answered, "When I arrived, the doctor was putting a cast on Isabella. Just as the cast was almost done, someone rushed in. Guess who it was?"
"Who?" Susan frowned and asked.
"Leon," George answered mysteriously.
Hearing this, Susan was stunned!
Susan knew there was something subtle between Isabella and Leon, but she didn't know it had reached this level.
Logically, Isabella had just been hit by a motorcycle, and Leon found out immediately, which showed how frequently they were in contact.
However, Susan felt a bit happy for Isabella. She could see that Isabella liked Leon, and if they developed feelings for each other, it would be a good thing. After all, Leon was a reliable man, someone she could trust for life.
Seeing Susan's dumbfounded look, George laughed and said, "I guessed you would be surprised. You have no idea how nervous Leon was when he saw Isabella's broken leg. I never thought Leon would fall for someone like Isabella."
"What do you mean by that? What's wrong with Isabella? Why can't Leon like her?" Susan couldn't tolerate anyone speaking ill of Isabella.
"I just feel that Isabella is very fiery, while Leon is very calm. They seem a bit mismatched," George laughed.
Hearing this, Susan said, "Actually, Isabella's personality is very similar to mine. We used to play together every day. But then I got married and had kids, and she's been alone all these years, so her personality hasn't changed at all."
"You're right, you two are quite similar," George laughed.
"So you're saying we're both crazy, right?" Susan laughed too.
Seeing Susan laugh, George breathed a sigh of relief and said, "You finally laughed. You haven't smiled in days."
Hearing this, Susan stopped smiling. She looked at George, who was gazing at her with concern, and opened her mouth, but didn't know what to say.
After a while, Susan said, "You've delivered the food, and I don't have anything else to do now. Why don't you go back to work?"
"Okay, I'll come back tonight to bring you dinner. What do you want to eat? I'll call the housekeeper," George cooperated and stood up immediately.
"Actually, you can order food from the hospital..." Susan hadn't finished her sentence.
"Hospital food is awful," George interrupted, his tone brooking no argument. "Look, if you don't let me bring you something decent to eat, I'm just going to stay here all afternoon."
Hearing this, Susan could only nod and say, "Alright, alright, just don't bring greasy food tonight. Something light will do."
Hearing this, George knew he had achieved his goal and smiled. "Okay, I'll bring it tonight. I'm leaving now, get some rest."
"Bye-bye," Susan waved at George.
George left the ward and gently closed the door.
After George left, Susan sighed deeply.
Isabella had a broken leg and couldn't take care of her, so George wouldn't leave her alone.
Susan was troubled but had no choice. She had warned George and Isabella not to tell Dorothy and Catherine about her condition. She wanted to hire a nurse to take care of her, but George firmly disagreed, saying a nurse wouldn't take good care of her. In the end, Susan had no choice but to let George take care of her.
Now, Susan could only hope to get discharged soon so she wouldn't have to trouble George anymore.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through Susan's mind.
Leon and Isabella were together? So, would Isabella tell Leon about her condition? And then would Leon tell Seb?
Thinking of this, Susan broke out in a cold sweat.
She quickly called Isabella.
"Isabella, how are you now?" Susan asked as soon as the call connected.
"Oh, I'm fine. I just got home," Isabella said, a bit hesitant.
Hearing this, Susan understood that Leon must be with Isabella.
"Isabella, you didn't tell Leon about my situation, did you?" Susan immediately lowered her voice and asked.
Isabella glanced at Leon, who was in the kitchen getting her some water, and whispered, "Don't worry, I'm not that stupid to tell him everything."
"That's good. Take care of yourself. If you can't manage, hire a housekeeper for a few days. When I get out of the hospital, I'll move in with you so we can look after each other," Susan said.
Isabella replied, "Don't worry about me. Take care of yourself. I'll just order takeout for the next few days."
"Okay, I'll hang up now," Susan knew Leon was with Isabella and didn't want to say too much, so she quickly hung up.
After the call was hung up, Leon walked in with a glass of water.
Isabella leaned against the headboard, her leg in a thick cast, frowning in pain.
"Drink some water," Leon handed the glass to Isabella.
Isabella reached out and took the glass. "Thank you."
After taking a sip, she heard Leon's scolding voice from above. "Why didn't you look both ways before crossing the street? Luckily, it was just a motorcycle that broke your leg. What if it had been a car? You're always so careless and never calm. Why are you still acting like a child?"
"Are you done? Just because you helped me today doesn't mean you can criticize me!" Isabella immediately looked up and glared at Leon.
"Do you even realize your mistake?" Leon was angry.
"Thank you for helping me today, but you can leave now!" Isabella turned her face away, looking very annoyed.
