Chapter 1082 Resistance

Feeling herself being lifted into the air, Cecilia immediately raised her face and frowned, asking, "What are you doing?"

"Going upstairs, of course. We can't stay here all night, can we?" Daryl said, then turned and carried Cecilia upstairs.

At this moment, Cecilia felt a hint of danger about Daryl.

"Put me down, I can walk by myself." Cecilia struggled quickly.

But Daryl impatiently said, "It's pitch dark, I'm afraid a ghost might drag you away."

Hearing this, Cecilia's struggling hands immediately went still.

Seeing Cecilia being so obedient in his arms, Daryl smirked. He thought to himself, 'This time, I have discovered her weakness—she is afraid of ghosts.'

"Can you not mention that again?" Cecilia pouted in protest.

"Which one?" Daryl asked mischievously.

At this moment, Cecilia realized Daryl was teasing her on purpose, so she shouted sternly, "Daryl!"

"Okay, I won't mention it," Daryl said, sensing that Cecilia was really anxious, and stopped joking.

Daryl carried Cecilia into the guest bedroom and gently placed her on the edge of the bed.

Seeing the room was pitch dark, Cecilia urgently said, "Turn on the light."

Daryl replied, "Did you forget? The power's out!"

Upon hearing this, Cecilia remembered that the power had gone out earlier.

"Do you have any candles?" Cecilia asked, frowning.

"It rarely happens here, so we didn't prepare any candles," Daryl answered.

Hearing this, Cecilia frowned even more.

Seeing the trees outside the window swaying menacingly, Cecilia quickly pulled the quilt over herself, covering her entire body.

Sitting by the bed, Daryl saw Cecilia's childish behavior and smiled warmly.

"Go to sleep, I'll stay here with you," Daryl said gently, looking at Cecilia in the dark.

Hearing this, Cecilia, who had her head covered, felt a wave of emotion, then frowned again.

It was already midnight, and with the storm raging outside, she couldn't sleep.

But if she asked him to leave, she would be terrified.

She couldn't possibly let Daryl stay up all night.

Cecilia stayed under the quilt for a long time, still hearing the thunder and lightning outside.

Then, she pulled the quilt down, revealing her head.

At this moment, she saw Daryl sitting by her bed, indeed keeping watch over her.

Their eyes met in the dark, his eyes still deep and profound in the night.

"Can't sleep?" Daryl asked, looking at Cecilia.

The next moment, Cecilia moved inward a bit and patted the spot next to her.

At this moment, Daryl frowned, probably not understanding her meaning.

Seeing him still standing there motionless, Cecilia said, "I thought you were smart, how can you be so dense?"

"If you don't say it, how would I know what you mean?" Daryl asked, seemingly playing dumb.

Hearing this, Cecilia's face turned blush.

At this moment, Daryl seemed to want to tease her on purpose. He said, "If you don't say it, I'll go back to sleep."

After saying that, Daryl pretended to get up.

And at this moment, coincidentally, another flash of lightning struck outside.

Cecilia felt a wave of fear, and in her panic, she grabbed Daryl's arm.

Feeling his arm tighten, Daryl lowered his brow.

At this moment, Cecilia finally spoke with difficulty, "Don't go! This bed is big enough for both of us!"

After saying that, Cecilia let go of Daryl's arm, then turned and moved to the other side of the bed, lying down near the edge.

Seeing Cecilia's actions, Daryl smiled unconsciously, then he climbed into bed in his pajamas, lying down on the other side.

Cecilia, wrapped in the quilt with her back to Daryl, could hear his breathing. With this sound, she wasn't afraid anymore, even though the branches outside the window were still swaying.

After a long time, Daryl reached out and gently tugged at the corner of the quilt.

Cecilia felt the quilt moving, looked down, and saw Daryl lying beside her in his pajamas, without a quilt.

She frowned slightly and shared half of the quilt with him.

Then, Daryl covered himself with the quilt. Since the quilt was limited in size, the two people on the bed gradually moved closer.

Cecilia seemed to feel his clothes touching her body, and her heart tightened.

The next moment, Cecilia closed her eyes, trying hard to fall asleep.

She didn't know how long it had been, but just as she was about to drift into sleep, she suddenly felt a warmth on her back, as if a wall of flesh was leaning against her.

Realizing this, Cecilia shivered and opened her eyes.

Immediately, she felt a strong arm wrap around her waist.

His movements were natural and gentle, flowing smoothly like water.

Cecilia's body immediately stiffened. She wanted to resist, but then she remembered the scene of signing the agreement that day.

So there was no reason for her to refuse him. She was supposed to be his bedmate after taking his $104,000 and now she was living off him.. If she wanted to break the agreement, that would be really ungrateful.

Thinking of this, Cecilia tried to relax her stiff body.

But no matter how hard she tried, her body remained stiff, and her heart was still resistant, probably because of the bad memories from last time.

She still clearly remembered how long she had been in pain last time, and his rough behavior.

Feeling Cecilia's stiffness, Daryl frowned slightly and gently kissed her.

The kiss was very gentle, as light as a feather touching her lips, making Cecilia feel ticklish all over.

Under his gentle attack, Cecilia gradually relaxed.

However, when he pressed down on her, Cecilia still pushed against his chest with both hands.

"Stop." Cecilia just opened her mouth, but then closed it again. She had no right to refuse. Realizing this, Cecilia frowned slightly.

Hearing this, Daryl stopped his next move.

His deep eyes gazed down at Cecilia in front of him, and a large hand gently caressed her face, very tenderly.

At this moment, a flash of lightning appeared in the sky outside.
