Chapter 1247 The Revolution Succeeded
"But..." Cecilia's worry deepened as she listened to Daryl.
He'd already been kicked out of his position, which meant things must've gotten pretty heated with his family.
Daryl cut her off. "I've planned our wedding myself. Here are the details, the hotel, and the wedding company. Check it out and let me know if there's anything you don't like. I'll fix it."
He handed her his notebook and some promotional materials.
Cecilia took them, glancing at the notebook. The messy handwriting was unmistakably Daryl's.
The wedding plans were laid out in detail, spanning several pages. It was clear Daryl had put a lot of thought into it, and the effort warmed Cecilia's heart.
She smiled. "I'm sure everything you've arranged is perfect. I have no objections."
"Great, then it's settled. After work this afternoon, we'll go try on wedding dresses, then head to a private jeweler to pick out jewelry. We'll take our wedding photos this weekend. Our schedule's tight, so we'll have to go with ready-made dresses and jewelry. I can't take you shopping in Starlight City, but I'll make it up to you on our honeymoon. We'll go on a shopping spree!" Daryl said, holding her hand.
"But, Daryl, have you talked to your parents about this?" Cecilia asked, her concern clear.
Seeing her worry, Daryl repeated, "Remember, you don't need to worry about anything. Just be my bride."
"But..." Cecilia still felt uneasy.
Daryl changed the subject. "I'm starving. I need another plate of pasta. Can't work on an empty stomach!"
He called the waiter and ordered another plate.
Seeing him dodge the topic, Cecilia didn't push further, but she remained worried.
After work, Daryl took Cecilia to try on wedding dresses, then to a high-end private jeweler to select jewelry. They had dinner out and it was nearly midnight by the time they finished.
Daryl drove, with Cecilia in the passenger seat.
Cecilia glanced at the velvet jewelry boxes on her lap and frowned. "Daryl, you bought me so much jewelry. Aren't you worried I'll get robbed?"
Daryl laughed. "Don't worry. When you're not at work, I'll be with you all the time. No thief would dare rob you."
"What? You're not going home tonight?" Cecilia frowned.
"Don't you want me to stay with you?" Daryl held her hand.
Cecilia quickly shook her head. "No, we haven't married yet. It's not appropriate for you to stay at my place. Besides, you need to go home. If you don't, your parents will be even angrier!"
Daryl nodded. "You're right. We'll stay apart for a few days."
"Okay." Cecilia nodded and placed the velvet boxes on the back seat. "Take these jewelry boxes home. Now I don't have to worry about getting robbed!"
Daryl looked at Cecilia and shook his head with a smile. "Do you know how much these pieces of jewelry are worth?"
"Tens of thousands of dollars?" Cecilia guessed, looking at Daryl.
The jewelry was adorned with diamonds and gemstones, definitely valuable.
Daryl shook his head.
"Millions of dollars?" Cecilia guessed again.
She knew the jewelry was expensive, but millions seemed like the limit.
Daryl smiled at Cecilia and shook his head again.
Cecilia's eyes widened. "Tens of millions?"
Daryl held up two fingers.
"Twenty million dollars?" Cecilia gasped.
Seeing Cecilia's expression, Daryl smiled.
Cecilia looked at the jewelry boxes in the back seat and muttered, "Why didn't you tell me earlier? Can we return them? I want to return them!"
Daryl spoke seriously. "Calm down. We're getting married. These are meaningful and show my sincerity."
"If you want to show sincerity, write me a check. Why buy things I can't wear every day? Now I'm afraid to wear them out, worried about getting robbed!" Cecilia pouted.
"You're such a money-grubber!" Daryl teased, pushing Cecilia's head lightly.
"I don't care. Take the jewelry back. It may get stolen, and I'm more afraid of getting robbed!" Cecilia was still shocked by the jewelry's price.
For several days, Daryl took Cecilia shopping, and they took their wedding photos over the weekend.
After a day of taking wedding photos, Cecilia's legs were sore. She collapsed onto the bed and said, "I'm exhausted. You cook dinner. I can't move!"
Daryl stood by the bed, shaking his head with a smile. "Your stamina is too poor. Starting tomorrow, I'll take you running in the morning to build up your strength. That way, you can give me a baby soon!"
Cecilia sat up, surprised. "What? A baby? I don't have that plan. I want us to enjoy a couple of years together before having a baby."
"No way! I want you to give me a whole soccer team. We need to start right away!" Daryl said, holding Cecilia's shoulders seriously.
"A soccer team? Are you treating me like a pig?" Cecilia exclaimed.
"Okay, a basketball team then," Daryl quickly corrected.
"No way!" Cecilia immediately rejected.
"How about four kids? That's my bottom line," Daryl said.
Before Cecilia could respond, Daryl's phone rang on the table.
"It's Elijah calling," Daryl said, picking up the phone and answering it.
Elijah's voice came through. "Daryl, I have good news. Your revolution succeeded!"
"Tell me more," Daryl said, showing no surprise as he sat on the couch and crossed his legs.
"You haven't been to the company for a week, and Fields Corporation is in chaos. Mom and Dad can't handle it!" Elijah sounded more excited than Daryl.
