Chapter 1114 Have You Ever Loved Me

Daryl stared at Cecilia for two seconds, confirming that the person standing in front of him was indeed Cecilia. He then frowned slightly before turning and walking up to her, while the two people behind him waited in place.

"When did you leave Northstar City? Who told you to come back?" Daryl walked up to Cecilia and immediately started scolding her.

Cecilia could see that there was no trace of joy in Daryl's eyes upon seeing her, only impatience and anger.

Daryl's attitude hurt Cecilia deeply. She thought, 'Why can't he show a bit of worry for me? Why doesn't he consider that something might have happened to me in Northstar City, prompting my sudden return?'

However, she didn't come back this time seeking his concern; she came back for the baby in her belly.

The next moment, Cecilia took a deep breath and looked at Daryl seriously, saying, "I have something to talk to you about."

"What could be so important that you had to come back in person? You could have called me, or had Douglas relay the message," Daryl said with a sullen face.

Hearing this, Cecilia lowered her head slightly, suddenly looking like a child who had done something wrong.

At this moment, Cecilia really regretted it. Although she knew Daryl might react this way upon seeing her, she found it unbearable when she actually faced it.

Cecilia's nose suddenly tingled, and she almost burst into tears.

Seeing Cecilia's dejected look, Daryl's eyes softened slightly.

He lowered his head and thought for a moment, then turned and made a gesture to the two people waiting for him not far away.

Soon, a black Bentley pulled up in front of Daryl and Cecilia.

The driver got out of the car, opened the trunk, and put Cecilia's suitcase inside.

Seeing this, Cecilia frowned.

At this moment, the driver had already opened the back door of the car and was waiting for Daryl's instructions.

Seeing Cecilia's confused look, Daryl softened his tone a bit and said, "We'll talk at home."

Hearing this, Cecilia understood that he intended to take her with him.

Hearing these words, Cecilia felt slightly relieved. She had been afraid that in his anger, he would leave her here.

The next moment, Cecilia obediently got into the car, followed by Daryl. The driver got into the driver's seat, and as the engine started, Daryl's two attendants stood by and watched the car leave.

Sitting in the spacious and luxurious Bentley, Cecilia felt very uneasy.

Daryl's demeanor just now made Cecilia feel the distance of a CEO for the first time, even more so than on TV or in novels.

Now Cecilia understood why Daryl had pretended to be poor when he dated her. Maybe he was tired of this kind of life and sought her out for a change. And those feelings that Skylar couldn't give him.

At this moment, Cecilia suddenly felt a bit regretful.

She shouldn't have come to find Daryl, let alone foolishly hope to marry him. How could someone like him marry an ordinary woman like her? Moreover, he thought she was a vain woman, and his family wouldn't agree either.

But now it seemed too late to leave. Cecilia touched her belly, not knowing what to do.

All the way, Daryl stared out the window, not saying a word to Cecilia.

Cecilia glanced at him a couple of times but didn't know what to say, so she chose to remain silent.

After a while, the driver parked the car in the underground garage of a high-end residential area.

The driver opened the back door, and Daryl got out first, followed by Cecilia.

"Wait for me here for half an hour," Daryl instructed the driver after checking his watch.

"Yes, Mr. Fields," The driver replied respectfully.

The next moment, Daryl's cold eyes glanced at Cecilia standing beside him, then he turned and walked towards an exit.

At this moment, the driver had already placed Cecilia's suitcase in front of her.

"Thank you!" Cecilia thanked him and quickly followed Daryl with her suitcase.

Daryl walked too fast, and Cecilia, wearing high heels and dragging a suitcase, hurried to catch up. She finally squeezed into the elevator just as the doors were closing.

In the elevator, Daryl remained silent.

Cecilia felt the atmosphere in the elevator was very oppressive. She lowered her head, not wanting to look at him.

When the elevator doors opened, Daryl walked out without looking at Cecilia. She had no choice but to follow him with her suitcase.

Daryl walked through the luxurious hallway, turned to a door, entered a code, and the door opened. He walked straight in.

Cecilia frowned slightly, feeling awkward, but she had no other choice. She pulled her suitcase and walked through the door.

Standing in the spacious and bright living room, Cecilia looked around.

It was a two-bedroom apartment, not very large but with excellent orientation and a high-floor view of Maple Valley through large floor-to-ceiling windows.

The apartment was decorated in a modern minimalist style, with black and white as the main colors. The living room had a row of bookshelves neatly filled with books, giving it a cultured feel that was very comfortable.

"You'll stay here in Maple Valley for now. The door code is 1234567." Daryl's voice came from behind her.

Hearing this, Cecilia turned to look at Daryl, who was sitting on the couch, lighting a cigarette.

After taking a couple of puffs, Daryl didn't look at Cecilia and asked, "Tell me, what reason do you have for leaving Northstar City without my permission and coming to Maple Valley to find me?"

Hearing the question, Cecilia opened her mouth but didn't know how to start.

He was so cold, and his indifference made Cecilia feel chilled to the bone.

But at this point, Cecilia had no choice.

The next moment, Cecilia walked up to Daryl and slowly sat down beside him.

He continued to smoke, and Cecilia frowned before blurting out. "Daryl, have you ever loved me?"

As soon as she said it, Cecilia regretted it. She had come to talk about the child, so why was she asking this?

But the words were out, and she could only wait for his answer.
