Chapter 1261 Instigation

At that moment, Daryl grabbed Cecilia's chin, his voice firm, "You don't get a say in this!"

"You're so bossy," Cecilia pouted.

Daryl stared at her for a moment before leaning in and kissing her hard.

Cecilia felt the kiss was more of a punishment, like he was trying to prove a point. Within seconds, her lips were swollen from his biting.

Daryl pulled back, his eyes blazing with possessiveness. "You're mine, and only I can touch you!"

Cecilia couldn't help but think Daryl was acting like a child.

Leaning back in her seat, she touched her lips and said, "Your jealousy is scary. I won't mess with you again."

Daryl's lips curled into a smirk. "Glad you get it."

He then stepped on the gas, and the car smoothly merged back into traffic.

Cecilia's small house was warmly lit, as cozy as ever.

Daryl stood in the narrow bedroom, his eyes fixed on the lifelike painting on the nightstand, not moving for a long time.

When Cecilia walked into the bedroom with a cup of tea, she saw the murderous look in Daryl's eyes.

"This painting's actually pretty good, right?" Cecilia tried to make small talk, sensing the tense atmosphere.

But Daryl just glanced at her and said, "Looks amateurish to me."

"It's a friend's gesture of goodwill. How about I put it away?" Cecilia placed the teacup on the vanity and turned to take the painting down.

But Daryl stepped forward and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"What's wrong?" Cecilia's heart pounded as she saw Daryl's icy expression.

"Are you saying you want to keep it forever?" Daryl's eyes were sharp, his jealousy palpable.

Seeing that Daryl was still upset, Cecilia cupped his face and smiled. "The only thing I'll keep forever is you. As for this painting, why don't you keep it for me?"

She glanced at the painting on the nightstand. Although she cherished the portrait Barry had given her, she reluctantly offered it up, hoping Daryl wouldn't be petty enough to destroy it.

Daryl raised an eyebrow. "You really want me to keep it?"

"Yes," Cecilia nodded.

Daryl looked at the painting and smirked. "Aren't you afraid I'll throw it away, burn it, or tear it up?"

Cecilia was taken aback but then said, "I trust my man. You wouldn't be so petty and narrow-minded. Right?"

Finally, a rare smile appeared on Daryl's face.

Seeing him smile, Cecilia also grinned. "Oh my god, you finally smiled. You had me so worried! I thought you wouldn't smile at me today."

Daryl's smile faded. "Do you know what you did wrong?"

"Yeah!" Cecilia quickly nodded.

"Then tell me what you did wrong," Daryl continued.

"I shouldn't have met Barry without telling you, and I definitely shouldn't have hugged him," Cecilia rolled her eyes.

"And?" Daryl pressed.

"From now on, if I want to meet with another guy, I have to report to you and get your permission first," Cecilia said, exasperated.

Satisfied, Daryl patted her head. "That's more like it."

"I'm not your property!" Cecilia glared at him and turned to leave.

But Daryl pulled her back, kissed her lips, and smirked. "Are you mad?"

"It feels like marrying you means selling myself to you," Cecilia pouted.

"It's because I love you. I won't allow you to have any physical or emotional contact with other men, especially Barry!" Daryl said, full of jealousy.

Seeing the jealous man in front of her, Cecilia felt helpless.

The next moment, Daryl kissed her again.

The kiss was passionate and possessive, leaving Cecilia weak in his arms.

The next afternoon, Azalea met Skylar for coffee.

Stirring her coffee, Azalea smiled at Skylar. "Skylar, thanks so much for those photos. I couldn't have done it without you."

Skylar smiled back. "Godmother, it's nothing. I'm your daughter. It's my duty to help you. But I do feel a bit guilty. It seems like I'm targeting Cecilia because of my issues with Daryl."

She took a sip of her coffee, looking remorseful.

Azalea reassured her. "You don't need to feel guilty. If she hadn't been misbehaving, we wouldn't have caught her in those compromising photos."

Skylar hesitated. "Godmother, how did Daryl react to the photos? Did you have any trouble last night?"

Azalea frowned. "I don't know what spell that woman has cast on Daryl. He wasn't angry at all and kept defending her!"

Skylar's eyes showed a hint of sadness. "If Daryl doesn't even care about this, he must truly love Cecilia."

Her fingers tightened around her cup, her red nails digging into her skin.

Azalea's anger flared. "That woman! Once she marries into the Fields family, I'll make her life miserable!"

Skylar cautioned, "Godmother, Daryl listens to her now. If you go after her, he'll surely oppose you. Please think it over."

Azalea glared at Skylar. "She thinks that by winning over Daryl, she can do whatever she wants in the Fields family? As long as I'm here, she won't have her way!"

Seeing Azalea's anger, Skylar smirked.

She sipped her coffee leisurely, thinking, 'Cecilia, even if you marry into the Fields family, your life won't be easy!'
