Chapter 50 Frustration

Susan felt a bit embarrassed. Her face turned red as she tentatively asked, "Kathy, who else is in Seb's family?"

She was really curious about Seb's family. They were so prominent, there had to be a ton of rules. Earlier, he mentioned they weren't at the old house, which made Kathy comfortable enough to sit down and eat. Susan wondered if Seb had any siblings and what their deal was. When she had nothing to do, she couldn't help but imagine.

"Mr. Anderson never told you?" Kathy looked surprised.

Susan was taken aback and quickly said, "You know he doesn't like to talk about family stuff."

"That's just how he is," Kathy nodded.

Susan finally breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed her observations were spot on.

Later, Kathy said, "The elders of the Anderson family are no longer around. Now it's just Mr. Todd Anderson and Mrs. Anderson. Miss Anderson has gone abroad to study, and Mr. Seb Anderson doesn't come home often, so the house is very quiet."

"Oh," Susan nodded.

It seemed Seb's family was pretty simple. However, she found it amusing how gossipy she had become. Even though she and Seb were married, they weren't a normal couple, so she might not even need to deal with Seb's family.

After finishing the meal, Kathy started cleaning up. Susan wanted to help, but Kathy insisted she didn't, so she went to the living room. As soon as she sat on the sofa, she saw Seb coming downstairs.

The moment he came down, Susan's eyes were completely drawn to him.

Seb had changed his clothes. Instead of the usual black suit, he was wearing a silver suit with a sky-blue shirt underneath and a burgundy tie around his neck.

Seeing his outfit, Susan couldn't help but lower her head to stifle a laugh, but she couldn't hold it in, afraid Seb would notice.

Seb's outfit was really too flashy. These were the clothes she had bought for him at the mall a few days ago, thinking each piece could match his black suit to avoid the monotonous black-and-white combination. She didn't expect him to wear them all at once, making him look like a playboy.

Seb walked up to Susan, his face dark as he stared at her and asked, "What are you laughing at?"

Seeing she couldn't avoid it, Susan quickly raised her face and replied, "I just remembered a funny joke."

Seb wasn't so easily fooled. His eyes lingered on Susan's face for two seconds before he said, "I'm not used to this. I'll change back."

Seeing he was about to change back into his black suit, Susan quickly stood up and grabbed his arm, saying, "You'll get used to it. It really looks much better than your black suit!"

"Really?" Seb was a bit unsure for the first time.

"Really, absolutely!" Susan nodded firmly.

After looking down at himself again, Seb decided, "Alright, I'll listen to you this time."

Susan nodded vigorously, meaning he should trust her, though Seb's outfit was indeed a bit eye-catching.

Before leaving, Seb whispered in Susan's ear, "Move back to the master bedroom tonight. I don't want Kathy gossiping."

Susan looked at Seb in shock.

Seb's mouth twitched, then he picked up his briefcase and left the house.

After Seb left, Susan sat on the sofa, laughing so hard that her stomach hurt.

Susan couldn't stop laughing whenever she thought about it, chuckling the entire afternoon.

Despite the laughter, Susan didn't dare disobey Seb's instructions. She moved from the guest bedroom to the master bedroom to rest.

In the afternoon, when Kathy came up to clean, she curiously asked, "Mrs. Anderson, do you and Mr. Anderson sleep in separate beds?"

Seeing the surprise on Kathy's face, Susan quickly said, "Oh, I have severe pregnancy symptoms and light sleep. Seb sometimes affects my sleep, so when it's bad, I sleep in the guest bedroom."

Hearing this, Kathy said, "I see. It's a special time for you, so it's okay now, but it won't be in the future. I'm telling you, once a couple starts sleeping in separate beds, their relationship will fade."

After spending half a day with Kathy, Susan realized she was talkative but also practical, efficient, and very hygienic. So, Susan didn't dislike Kathy, though sometimes her mouth couldn't stay still. However, it seemed Kathy was more restrained when Seb was around, with less to say. Susan thought there must be many rules in Seb's old family home.

Out of politeness, Susan just smiled.

Seeing Susan not speaking, Kathy continued, "Don't think I'm making this up. Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Anderson started sleeping in separate beds over ten years ago, and now their relationship is cold. They're really just putting on a show!"

Hearing this, Susan looked at Kathy in surprise. She thought, 'Seb's parents don't get along well?'

Seeing Susan's surprised look, Kathy felt she had said too much and quickly changed the subject, "Oh, Mr. Anderson told me to let you rest more. Look at me chatting away. I'll go clean up. You rest for a while!" With that, Kathy took a cloth and left.

After Kathy left, Susan thought to herself, 'No wonder Seb is so cold. Could it be related to the environment he grew up in? A distant relationship between parents can easily affect a child's temperament.' She couldn't help but start to feel a bit of sympathy for Seb.

Although Seb was born into a prominent family, his childhood might not have been happy, just like her experience growing up in a broken family. Thinking of this, a trace of tendernesscrossed Susan's heart.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, the door was suddenly pushed open, waking Susan from her sleep.

She opened her eyes and saw Seb walking in with a dark face. He walked to the bed, took off his silver suit, pulled off the burgundy tie, and threw it on the sofa. After sitting on the sofa, he angrily unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt.

Seeing his mood was off, Susan cautiously asked, "Why are you back so early today?"

"Why stay there and be a laughingstock?" Seb said coldly.

Susan got out of bed, poured a glass of water, and placed it in front of Seb. Then she carefully sat in front of him, smiling. "Who would dare laugh at you!"

"Were you doing it on purpose?" Seb's sharp eyes fixed on Susan.

"Doing what on purpose?" Susan was confused.

"Making me dress like this today," Seb pointed at his light blue shirt.

Only then did Susan understand. Seb must have been laughed at for his outfit, but she had to play innocent.

"Did someone say something?" Susan asked.
