Chapter 1311 Together Even in Death

The elevator doors slid open.

Daryl carried Cecilia out, her head hanging down, blood rushing to her brain. As Daryl turned, Cecilia felt dizzy and instinctively closed her eyes, her small fists pounding on Daryl's back. "Daryl, put me down right now, do you hear me?" she demanded.

After a few shouts, Cecilia felt too sick to continue and could only hope he would put her down soon.

Daryl carried Cecilia out of the lobby. As they exited the building, Douglas, who was waiting by the car, was momentarily stunned by the sight. He quickly opened the back door.

He unceremoniously tossed Cecilia into the back seat and gave Douglas a brief instruction before getting into the car himself.

Cecilia, dizzy from being thrown onto the leather seat, sat up, holding her head.

Douglas started the engine, and the car moved onto the road.

Seeing this, Cecilia tried to open the door, but it was locked. After several attempts, she gave up in frustration, hitting the door with her hand and kicking the lock with her high heel to vent her anger.

Daryl, who had been watching her coldly, said, "Save your energy. I'm not letting you go."

Cecilia turned to Daryl, her anger subsiding. "Where are you taking me?" she asked coldly.

"You'll find out soon enough," Daryl replied, closing his eyes and ignoring her.

Frustrated, Cecilia threw a cushion at Daryl. It hit him and fell to the floor, but Daryl didn't even open his eyes.

Seeing this, Cecilia was furious but had no choice but to lean back and sulk.

As the car headed towards the outskirts, Cecilia frowned.

Eventually, she decided to mimic Daryl, leaning back and closing her eyes, though she was only pretending to sleep.

She had everything planned out, but now everything was out of control, including her relationship with Daryl.

Exhausted from recent events, Cecilia eventually drifted off to sleep.

When she felt a chill, she opened her eyes to find it was already dark outside. The car door was open, and Daryl was already out.

"Get out! Or do I have to carry you?" Daryl's stiff voice came from outside.

Cecilia frowned but got out of the car.

As her feet touched the ground, she felt the soft sand beneath her. Looking around, she realized they were at the beach, the salty sea air filling her nostrils.

"What are we doing at the beach?" Cecilia asked.

The wind was strong, and the evening was chilly. Daryl wore a black trench coat, which flapped in the wind along with his hair.

Cecilia, in a beige knit dress, hugged herself against the cold. Her ponytail and dress were whipped around by the wind, which seemed to pierce through her dress.

Daryl glanced at Cecilia coldly before turning and walking away.

His cold gaze hurt Cecilia deeply. In the past, he would have given her his coat, not caring about his own comfort. Now, he looked at her like a stranger, even colder than a stranger.

Cecilia saw a speedboat docked nearby. The boat's captain, wearing a life jacket, jumped ashore and respectfully reported to Daryl.

Seeing this, Cecilia panicked.

What was going on? Was he planning to go out to sea? It was almost dusk. Was he crazy?

Cecilia couldn't help but step forward.

"What are you doing?" she asked as the captain handed Daryl a life jacket.

"I don't need it, and neither does she," Daryl said.

"Mr. Fields, it's better to be safe. The sea is rough and windy," the captain advised.

Daryl cut him off. "No need. If fate decides, so be it. As long as she's with me, it's worth it."

As he spoke, Daryl grabbed Cecilia's wrist and pulled her onto the boat.

Cecilia stumbled onto the boat, frowning at Daryl's words. "Daryl, are you crazy? It's almost dark. We can't go out to sea!"

Daryl ignored her, instructing the captain, "Set sail!"

"Yes, Mr. Fields," the captain replied, starting the boat's engine.

Daryl called out to Douglas, "Pick us up here in three days!"

"Yes, Mr. Fields," Douglas nodded.

The boat sped out to sea.

The wind was strong on the water. Cecilia gripped the boat's handrail tightly, sitting in her seat, her heart filled with fear. Where was Daryl taking her?

The boat moved quickly across the twilight sea. Cecilia felt the wind whipping past her ears. She had no energy to argue with Daryl, who sat beside her, gripping her wrist tightly, his eyes fixed ahead, his face expressionless.

Twenty minutes later, as the sun left its last glow on the western horizon, the boat stopped at a small island.

In the night, the island was quiet except for a few lights. Daryl pulled Cecilia off the boat. She saw an old-fashioned Luminara building and smelled flowers, indicating the island was filled with blooms.

Daryl led Cecilia up a winding stone path to the highest point on the island.
