Chapter 1221 You're Just Trying to Flatter Me
"Oh, I remember now, it's the one who gave you a gift, and it turned out to be a creepy doll in the box, right?" Azalea frowned.
"Yeah." Skylar nodded.
Azalea said, "She used to say she was framed by others, but now I don't think so. Maybe she deliberately wanted to get close to Daryl. This kind of woman is too scheming. Daryl must be infatuated with her. I have to go and teach her a lesson, make her stay away from Daryl!"
With that, Azalea stormed into the shoe store to confront Cecilia. Skylar quickly pulled Azalea aside to a corner and kindly advised, "Azalea, if you go now, it will embarrass Daryl. You know his temper. If he talks back to you, it will affect your relationship with him, and that woman will surely be pleased!"
Azalea thought for a moment and said, "You're right. I have plenty of ways to deal with that woman. There's no rush."
"Exactly." Skylar nodded.
Azalea looked at her and held her hand, saying, "Skylar, you are so kind and considerate. It's Daryl's loss that he didn't marry someone as great as you."
"Azalea, don't say that. It's my loss that I didn't become your daughter-in-law." As she spoke, her eyes turned red.
"Don't be sad. When you're feeling like this, I don't know what to say." Azalea frowned.
"Azalea, I understand your feelings." Skylar wiped her tears with a tissue.
Azalea then pursed her lips and firmly said, "Anyway, I've decided that you will be my daughter-in-law. No one else is allowed to marry into the Fields family!"
Skylar said, "Azalea, don't say that. As long as Daryl likes her and she has a clean background, I will bless them. I'm just afraid that she is a vain woman who doesn't truly love Daryl and might have other intentions. The Fields family and Daryl might suffer in the future!"
Hearing Skylar's reminder, Azalea stared at her for a while and then said, "Skylar, do you know something else?"
"Azalea, there are a lot of things things I didn't want to say. After all, Daryl and I were once engaged, and I didn't want people to think I was being vindictive. But you are so good to me, and I don't want to see Daryl suffer. I've heard that Cecilia used to date Barry, the son of Seraphine, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Vista. It's said that Cecilia leveraged this relationship to get a permanent position at Vogue Vista and is now in charge of a small column." Skylar frowned.
Azalea angrily said, "I wondered why Seraphine was so protective of Cecilia. It turns out she was dating her son. They even claimed to have investigated and cleared her name, saying she wasn't the one who put the creepy doll in the gift box. It must have been Seraphine covering for her. Cecilia must have done it!"
Seeing that she was successfully angered, Skylar continued, "Azalea, I have a friend who works at Vogue Vista. She told me a few days ago that Cecilia had broken up with Seraphine's son. They used to be inseparable, and I thought they would get married. But now it seems Cecilia is dating Daryl, right?"
Azalea immediately frowned and said, "Daryl is such a fool to be charmed by this woman. What was he thinking, falling for someone like her!"
"Azalea, don't be angry. Take care of your health. Don't let this affect your relationship with Daryl. It's better to slowly persuade him." Skylar advised.
"Alright, I know what to do. Let's go back. I was in a good mood, but this ruined it!" Azalea lost all interest and turned to leave.
Skylar saw that her plan had succeeded and a cold smile appeared on her lips.
As she walked around the corner, she saw they being affectionate in the shoe store and couldn't help but glance at them. She muttered to herself, "Cecilia, if you want to compete with me for Daryl, I'll make sure you have trouble!"
Skylar turned to follow Azalea.
In the shoe store, Daryl was helping Cecilia try on four or five pairs of shoes and finally chose two pairs.
Daryl carried several bags in one hand, while Cecilia held his other arm. They walked out of the shoe store, chatting and laughing, completely unaware that Azalea and Skylar had been watching them from the store entrance for a long time.
That evening, Cecilia cooked Daryl's favorite dishes, spending the entire afternoon in the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Daryl was working on his laptop on the living room sofa.
Occasionally, he would look up at the busy figure in the kitchen, feeling particularly content and happy.
Of course, he would also occasionally go to the kitchen, wrap his arms around her waist from behind, and give her a few kisses before letting go.
Daryl felt that this was the family life he wanted and he was even more determined to marry Cecilia.
As night fell, she placed the dishes and the steaming steak on the table.
The early winter wind outside began to howl, but the food inside was steaming, and frost had formed on the window glass.
"Dinner is ready," Cecilia said as she took off her apron.
Daryl put down his laptop, walked to the dining table, and smelled the aroma of the food. "It smells so good!"
Cecilia smiled and said, "Steak, your favorite."
Daryl stepped forward and hugged her waist. "You are so capable. I need to consider marrying you soon."
Cecilia frowned and said, "What do you mean? Marrying me just to cook for you?"
"Not just cooking, but also doing laundry and having babies." Daryl raised an eyebrow.
"You're annoying!" Cecilia was very displeased.
Daryl then pinched her nose and said, "I was just joking. Are you mad? I want to marry you because I love you, I like you, and I can't live without you!"
"You're just trying to flatter me." Cecilia glanced at him.
"I mean it sincerely. If you don't believe me, feel my heart!" With that, Daryl grabbed her hand and pulled it inside his shirt.
