Chapter 1256 Going Above and Beyond

Hearing this, Cecilia glanced at Daryl and laughed, "Of course I slept well with Mom!"

Daryl leaned in, wrapped his arm around Cecilia's waist, and whispered in her ear, "You're totally fibbing. I saw you yawning like crazy at breakfast. You definitely didn't sleep well last night."

He didn't miss a thing. Realizing she couldn't keep up the lie, Cecilia admitted, "I haven't been home in forever, and I haven't slept with Mom in ages. We stayed up talking until three in the morning, reminiscing about my childhood. I could tell she really didn't want me to leave."

Cecilia's face was filled with sadness.

Seeing this, Daryl suggested, "Why don't we bring your mom to Maple Valley after we get married? That way, you two can see each other all the time."

Cecilia shook her head, "Mom's getting old, and she doesn't want to leave her home. Plus, she can't be away from my brother and sister-in-law."

"Then I'll just bring you to visit her often. It's only a two or three-hour drive. Whenever you miss her, I'll take you to see her," Daryl said thoughtfully.

Hearing this, Cecilia felt a warm, comforting sensation flow through her, making her feel incredibly happy and content.

"Daryl, you're the best!" Cecilia looked at him gratefully.

Daryl held her close, his chin resting on her head, and stroked her back, "If I don't spoil my own fiancée, who will?"

Cecilia smiled.

Then she asked with a grin, "Did you sleep well last night? You look so energetic and radiant."

Daryl's lips curved into a smile. "I counted sheep and fell asleep, so I'm full of energy today. So..."

As he spoke, Daryl's gaze fixed on Cecilia.

Feeling his intense gaze, Cecilia nervously asked, "So what?"

"So, I'm going to keep my promise," Daryl replied.

"What promise? Don't scare me," Cecilia sensed something was off.

Daryl squinted his eyes and said, "Now I can deal with you."

With that, Daryl's eyes gleamed like a wolf eyeing a lamb.

Seeing this, Cecilia quickly scooted back and glanced at the driver in front, whispering, "Daryl, don't mess around. The driver's right there!"

Daryl glanced at the driver, then pressed a button.

Instantly, a curtain-like partition slowly descended, separating the front of the car from the back.

Within seconds, the car was divided into two spaces, isolating the driver from them.

Cecilia had never seen a car with such a feature and widened her eyes in surprise.

Then, Daryl leaned in and sealed her lips with a kiss!

Cecilia's surprise and protest were swallowed.

His kiss was intense, and Cecilia soon melted into his embrace.

After everything calmed down, Cecilia lay in Daryl's arms, her clothes disheveled and her face flushed.

Daryl's fingers traced her skin, looking satisfied.

Cecilia blushed and said, "You're terrible, not even sparing me on the road!"

Daryl laughed heartily. "We have a lot to do when we get back, so we had to make up for it on the road."

Hearing this, Cecilia frowned, "I'm so tired and sleepy now. I just want to sleep."

She yawned.

Daryl smiled gently, "We still have two hours until we reach Maple Valley. Go ahead and sleep."

"Then sleep with me," Cecilia hooked her arm around Daryl's neck.

Daryl replied, "I don't have it as good as you. I still have work to do."

With that, Daryl grabbed his laptop and started working.

"That's why you're the CEO. Work hard, I'm going to sleep," Cecilia patted Daryl's shoulder and lay down on the spacious back seat.

Soon, Cecilia's breathing became steady.

Daryl glanced at her sleeping form, smiled, and turned up the car's heater a bit before taking off his jacket.

With the wedding approaching, Cecilia had taken a few days off.

One day, Susan and Isabella invited Cecilia out for coffee.

In the café, soft music played in the background.

Susan and Isabella each handed Cecilia a velvet box.

"Cecilia, congratulations on finally tying the knot with Daryl. This is our wedding gift to you. We wish you and Daryl a lifetime of happiness!" Susan said happily.

Hearing this, Cecilia smiled and took the velvet boxes, opening them as she spoke, "Thank you."

Inside one box was a pair of beautiful sapphire earrings, and in the other, a fine jade bracelet.

Cecilia frowned, "These gifts are too precious."

"You're going to be the wife of the CEO of Fields Group. You need to wear appropriate jewelry. It's just a token of our appreciation," Susan said.

"Thank you," Cecilia said gratefully.

"Cecilia, I heard Daryl's mom isn't very friendly to you. When you marry into the Fields family, be prepared. If she bullies you, call me. We're like your family, and we'll stand up for you!" Isabella said straightforwardly.

Hearing this, Susan frowned, "Isabella, don't say that. Cecilia should try to get along with Daryl's mom. Fighting isn't the way to go."

"I was just saying. I don't want Cecilia to be mistreated," Isabella admitted she might have spoken too hastily.

Cecilia said, "Susan, Isabella is just looking out for me. Thank you both. With your support, I feel more confident."

Susan said, "I have some experience with in-laws. You can't change her mind, just be yourself, and trust and care for Daryl."

"I understand," Cecilia nodded.

Isabella added, "I guess I'm lucky not to have any in-law issues."

At this, Susan and Cecilia both looked at Isabella.

Susan teased, "You're the luckiest of us all. Leon treats you like a princess, always going above and beyond for you!"
