Chapter 987 I'll Deal with You When We Get Home Tonight
Susan stared at Seb, and after a few seconds, she finally got what he was hinting at.
Her face turned bright red in an instant.
"Yes," she said, nodding obediently in front of Wayne.
Just then, she glanced up and saw Seb giving her a half-smile.
Inside, Susan was fuming, wishing she could just march over and yank his ear.
"Well, if Mr. Anderson has no other instructions, I'll be heading out," she said.
Seb nodded.
Susan turned and walked away, making sure her back was to Wayne. She shot Seb a fierce glare that said, 'I'll deal with you when we get home tonight!'
Seeing her warning look, Seb touched his chin and chuckled.
"Mr. Anderson, are you feeling unwell today?" Wayne asked, noticing Seb's odd expressions.
"Oh, it's nothing, let's keep going," Seb quickly replied with a smile.
Sitting at her desk, Susan couldn't help but chuckle to herself.
This Seb, always so cold in front of others, would tease her when they were alone, and even in public, he'd use his CEO status to flirt with her. She'd either feel shy or angry at the time, but she couldn't help but laugh about it later.
With nothing else to do, Susan called Isabella.
"Susan, what's up? How come you have time to call me?" Isabella, naturally chatty, answered.
It was Leon's first day at work, and Isabella felt bored. Maybe it was because he had been by her side all the time recently, and now that he wasn't, she felt a bit empty inside.
"Just wanted to check if you're feeling lonely today," Susan teased.
"Did you see Leon in the company?" Isabella asked.
"Yeah, I saw him wearing clothes from years ago. Almost mistook him for a security guard," Susan laughed.
Isabella chuckled. "Where can you find such a handsome security guard?"
"Seb even wants to give Leon a special clothing allowance. You don't have to keep such a tight watch on him," Susan said.
"I was just teasing him, who knew he'd actually wear those clothes to work," Isabella said, amused.
"Leon really dotes on you. Everything he does puts you first," Susan said enviously.
"Don't laugh at me, Seb is the same," Isabella retorted.
Hearing this, Susan sighed, "Lately, he's been pestering me to have a baby every day. It's driving me nuts."
"Having a baby? Seb must really want to tie you down. But having more kids isn't a bad thing. While you're young, you should have one. The more kids you have, the merrier it will be. Unlike me, I can only have this one kid," Isabella advised, touching her belly with a look of regret.
Hearing this, Susan frowned and asked, "Aren't you just a year older than me? After this one, you can have more."
Isabella hadn't told Susan about Leon's mother's situation, not because she wanted to hide it, but because she felt it was a private matter, and the fewer people who knew, the better. She didn't want Leon and her kid to be gossiped about in the future.
"Oh, if I have another, I'll be an older mom. Plus, Leon doesn't want me to go through all that again, so one is enough. Unlike you, with a big family business, you can have more kids to inherit it!" Isabella joked to brush it off.
"Stop it, I'm not talking to you anymore. You're really lucky to have such a loving husband," Susan pouted.
Isabella quickly teased, "Looks like you and Seb are getting busy every night. Should I buy you some supplements to keep up your strength? Don't run out of energy."
When Isabella teased her again, Susan immediately said seriously, "I have work to do, not chatting with you, bye!"
With that, Susan hung up.
Isabella put down the phone and breathed a sigh of relief.
No one knew her better than Susan. Luckily, she was quick-witted today, or she would have been exposed.
Just then, Isabella heard the doorbell ring, and Kathy quickly went to open the door.
A moment later, Kathy came running in from outside.
"Who is it?" Isabella was curious, as they didn't have many relatives or friends in Maple Valley who would visit.
Kathy quickly said, "An elderly gentleman is here to see you, and it's quite a scene. There are two luxury cars at the door with several people following behind!"
Hearing this, Isabella frowned. She thought, 'I don't know any elderly gentleman with such a grand entrance. Could it be a mistake?'
The next moment, a thought suddenly popped into Isabella's mind. Could this grand elderly gentleman be Leon's father? Last time, during our wedding, his father sent a set of jewelry worth millions of dollars.
Given what Leon had told her last time, Isabella disliked a man who abandoned his wife and kid, and she didn't want to have any connection with him.
So, Isabella said to Kathy, "Go tell him I don't know him and ask him to leave."
"Okay." Kathy nodded and turned to leave.
At this moment, Isabella thought about calling Leon but then decided against it, not wanting to bother him with this matter. After all, he really disliked his father, so it was better not to affect his mood.
Two minutes later, Kathy's voice came from outside. "Get out of here, how can you barge in like this?"
Then, Isabella heard a commotion of footsteps.
Isabella frowned, supporting her belly as she slowly stood up from the couch.
At this moment, two young men in black suits walked in, standing on either side. Then, an elderly man in a gray suit, leaning on a cane and walking slowly, entered.
Isabella saw that the elderly man was probably in his sixties, with graying hair and deep wrinkles on his face, looking very frail.
However, his facial features and eyebrows were very similar to Leon's, indicating that he must have been a very handsome man in his youth.
Seeing the elderly man's appearance, Isabella knew he was Leon's father.
The next moment, Isabella stared at Leon's father and said, "Don't you understand what trespassing means?"
In response to Isabella's question, Zane smiled and said, "Coming to my son's house shouldn't count as trespassing, right?"
