Chapter 891 Consecutive Surprises
"Really? Don't go back on your word!" Seb shot a look at Susan almost instantly.
Seeing the glint in his eyes, Susan realized she'd been played.
She smacked him, fuming. "I knew you were messing with me again!"
Seb grabbed her hand and started pulling her towards the marriage registry. "Too late now, you already agreed."
"What did I agree to?" Susan snapped back.
Seb turned and grinned. "You agreed to do whatever I say."
"No way, that doesn't count!" Susan grumbled as they sat down at the registry.
Seb must've set this all up beforehand because it was already after hours.
The remarriage process went off without a hitch, and soon enough, the staff handed them their marriage certificates.
Staring at the certificate, Susan felt a wave of sadness, her eyes tearing up.
Then, out of nowhere, she pouted.
"What's wrong? Not happy to be Mrs. Anderson again?" Seb asked, eyeing her.
Susan mumbled, "Marrying me without even a wedding ring? No sincerity at all!"
"Who says I didn't?" Seb raised an eyebrow.
"You got a ring?" Susan was surprised, thinking, 'When did he have time to get it? He's been with me the whole time these past few days.'
Seb pulled out a blue velvet box from his pocket like a magician and opened it in front of her.
Inside was a pink diamond ring.
"Do you like it?" Seb asked, smiling.
"Why a pink diamond?" Susan took the ring from the box.
"Pink diamonds are rarer and more unique. I fell in love with this one at first sight," Seb said, still smiling.
Susan slipped the ring onto her left ring finger, admiring it.
Sensing her happy, Seb put his arm around her. "How about a candlelight dinner tonight to celebrate our remarriage?"
Susan shook her head. "This is our third marriage, isn't it?"
"True, the third time's not as thrilling. Should we just head home then?" Seb said with a playful grin.
"Are you saying I'm not worth it anymore?" Susan got upset, even though she had said it herself.
"I wouldn't dare think that," Seb said, still smiling.
"You totally mean that!" Susan insisted.
Seb pulled her along. "I'm starving, let's go home and eat!"
On the way, they flirted and joked, and time flew by. Before they knew it, they were driving into an upscale neighborhood.
By now, night had fallen, and the neighborhood was all lit up, with sharp-looking security guards standing tall.
Susan frowned and asked Seb, "Why are we here? Aren't we going home?"
"Our home is here." Seb grinned and pulled Susan out of the car.
Standing in the beautifully landscaped neighborhood, Susan was puzzled. "Did you buy another house?"
"Yep!" Seb said, grabbing her hand and leading her into a towering building.
When Susan stepped into the modern, stylishly decorated living room, she could hardly believe her eyes.
The place was on the top floor, offering a killer view. Outside the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, the city lights sparkled, and she could just make out the winding river.
The curtains were in her favorite light color, the decor was luxurious yet cozy, the lights were bright, and she could faintly smell food. Susan knew the housekeeper must be cooking.
"Do you like it?" Seb asked, watching her take it all in.
"When did you buy this place? Why didn't you mention it?" Susan asked, surprised.
Honestly, even though the old villa was nice and had a garden, Ellie had lived there for so long that it made her uncomfortable.
"This place isn't huge, just a bit over three thousand square feet, but it should be enough for us. The location is great, and the top floor offers a panoramic view of Maple Valley. I thought you'd like it. A friend of mine moved abroad and didn't need it anymore, so he sold it to me. I didn't change the decor, just some furniture, because Hayden and Spring are still young, and I didn't want to risk any formaldehyde from renovations messing with their health. When they get older, you can decorate it however you like," Seb said with a smile.
He guessed right; Susan really liked the place.
"Daddy, Mommy!"
At that moment, Hayden and Spring came running out from somewhere.
Seeing them, Susan hugged both kids and sat on the couch, smiling. "Do you like the new house?"
"Yes!" Hayden and Spring answered together.
"Mommy, my room is so pretty, all pink," Spring said, gesturing in Susan's arms.
"Mommy, my room is all blue, like the ocean!" Hayden said excitedly.
Seeing their happy faces, Susan smiled and then looked up at Seb, feeling touched by his thoughtfulness. Even though the trip back home was rushed, he had thought of everything.
Just then, Mary walked into the living room and said with a smile, "Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Anderson, dinner is ready."
"Let's go eat," Seb said, holding Susan's hand and picking up Spring. Susan held Hayden's hand, and the family happily went to have dinner.
