Chapter 735 A Harsh Vow
Susan didn't dare to look up because she felt those eyes across from her were constantly staring at her.
This wasn't cooking for her; it was clearly a test of her endurance!
Finally, Susan finished the steak and pasta in front of her and almost cleared a plate of salad.
To be fair, his cooking was quite good, but she had eaten so quickly that she didn't really savor the flavors.
When Susan looked up, she saw Seb gazing at her, holding a glass of red wine, his eyes dreamy as if he were admiring a piece of art.
Susan couldn't help but feel a bit creeped out. They were alone, and if he tried to force her, she wouldn't be able to resist.
The next moment, Susan grabbed a napkin and said, "I'm full."
As she stood up, she took the wine bottle from the table.
"Why are you taking the wine?" Seb shouted as he saw her run into the kitchen with the bottle.
Susan put the wine in the kitchen cabinet and then came out, saying, "I'm afraid you'll cause trouble after drinking. One glass is enough for you."
At that moment, Seb reached out and grabbed Susan's wrist.
Susan lost her balance and fell onto his lap!
In her panic, Susan realized she was sitting on his lap and quickly tried to stand up.
But Seb wrapped his arms around her waist, preventing her from moving.
"What are you doing? Let go of me!" Susan's face flushed with anger.
Seb looked at Susan with a grin and said, "You seem perfectly fine to me, not at all like someone with a cold."
"I'm just a little uncomfortable," Susan quickly replied.
Seb's eyes locked onto Susan as he said, "I think you're afraid of losing control after drinking, so you don't dare to have any wine, right?"
Caught off guard, Susan felt both embarrassed and angry. "I have plenty of self-control; I just don't trust you to behave after a few drinks."
"Where's the fun in behaving?" he chuckled, his eyes dancing with amusement at her flustered expression.
"How can you be so shameless? Let go of me!" Susan struggled on Seb's lap.
But no matter how much she struggled, she couldn't break free from his grip.
"You'd better stop," Seb said, his eyes darkening as he looked at Susan in his arms.
"What?" Susan saw that his face was no longer smiling and was instead frowning, looking very uncomfortable.
The next moment, Seb swallowed and said in a hoarse voice, "If you keep moving like that, I might lose control even though I'm not drunk."
Hearing this, Susan's face turned bright red!
Seeing her blush, Seb loosened his grip around her waist.
Susan quickly got to her feet and ran into the bedroom.
Seb watched her run into the bedroom and close the door, a smile playing on his lips, though his brows were still slightly furrowed because he was feeling quite uncomfortable.
Susan ran into the bedroom and immediately locked the door!
How embarrassing! How could this happen?
Susan leaned against the door, rubbing her burning face with her hands.
No, she couldn't let him stay at her place any longer.
She wouldn't forgive him, and she didn't want Isabella to keep mocking her.
Susan wanted to stay in the bedroom all night, but she couldn't avoid going out; she needed to use the bathroom and take a shower.
At ten o'clock, Susan couldn't hold it any longer and had to open the door and quietly step out.
But she was wearing a nightgown, with a bathrobe over it, and a coat over the bathrobe, complete with a belt.
Seeing Susan wrapped up tightly, Seb was momentarily stunned, then he lowered his head and laughed.
Seeing him laugh, Susan angrily shouted, "What's so funny?"
After laughing, Seb picked up the TV remote and started channel surfing, saying, "Relax, Susan. I'm not some hormone-crazed teenager. And you're not an innocent schoolgirl. I can control myself."
"Even if I'm not an 'innocent schoolgirl,' I have standards!" she retorted, planting her hands on her hips, keeping a safe distance between them. "And if men were so good at controlling themselves, there wouldn't be so many mistresses in the world! I'm done discussing this. You're leaving. Now."
Susan pointed towards the door, her attitude firm.
Seeing Susan's face turn pale with anger, Seb slowly stood up, his earlier smile gone, replaced with a serious expression.
"Susan, don't worry. I won't force you to do anything ever again," Seb vowed.
Hearing this, Susan's heart softened a bit.
"You've said things like that before. Do you think I would believe you?" Susan said, rolling her eyes at Seb.
Seb frowned and said, "I swear, if I break today's promise, may I never be a man again!"
Hearing this, Susan was stunned!
That was a harsh vow, essentially dooming his future happiness.
Knowing she couldn't force him to leave, Susan pointed at Seb and said fiercely, "You made this vow yourself. Make sure you keep it, or you'll ruin your own future happiness!"
With that, Susan turned and walked towards the bathroom.
Seb called out to her retreating back, "If I lose my future happiness, you won't be happy either."
Hearing this, Susan stopped in her tracks, then turned around and smiled smugly, "You think I'll always be obsessed with you? There are plenty of men in the world, you know. I might find someone even better than you!"
This infuriated Seb, who stood up abruptly and shouted domineeringly, "Thinking of finding another man? Don't even think about it!"
Susan looked at Seb with disdain.
Seeing her disdainful expression, Seb said, "Just wait and see!"
Ignoring his outburst, Susan rolled her eyes at him and walked into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
The bathroom was still wet, as if someone had just taken a shower.
It must have been him; his hair seemed wet earlier.
