Chapter 1240 Wrestle From the Bed to the Floor
Cecilia looked up at the starry sky and said contentedly, "You don't need to carry me back. I'm fine sleeping here."
Glancing at the contented Cecilia, Daryl tilted his head back and drank half a can of beer in one go, then laughed, "I'm afraid a big fish might carry you away."
Cecilia gave Daryl a sidelong glance. "I think only you would carry me away!"
His eyes flashed, and he lay down beside her, propping his head up with one hand, and asked with a smile, "I think you like me a lot!"
"Who said that? I don't like you at all." Cecilia poked his nose with her fingertip.
Daryl quickly grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it.
"My hand is all greasy," Cecilia quickly exclaimed.
But Daryl kissed her hand again and said, "I think it tastes great, even better than barbecue!"
"Gross!" Cecilia said, hitting his bare arm and trying to pull her hand back.
Daryl didn't let go and instead placed her hand on his chest.
"I don't mind," Daryl said, then leaned in and kissed her lips, adding, "Not only is your hand greasy, but your mouth is too."
Cecilia placed both hands on his chest and laughed, "You said it, my hands smell like barbecue."
"I said I don't mind," Daryl said, gazing deeply into her eyes before leaning in to kiss her.
The kiss was intense and passionate, and soon Cecilia was lost in his tenderness.
What followed was a period of intimate, tender moments, leading to making love.
"How about we make the most of my friend's thoughtful gesture?" his hoarse voice whispered in her ear.
Cecilia was momentarily stunned. A friend's thoughtful gesture?
Then Cecilia suddenly realized.
Her face flushed, she lowered her eyes, and softly said, "Are your friend's gifts any good?"
"I don't know, why don't we try it?" Daryl's throat moved as he spoke.
"Better not, I don't think your friend is very reliable," Cecilia said shyly in his arms.
"My friend is always reliable," Daryl said urgently.
Seeing his eager eyes, Cecilia shyly pressed her face against his chest and softly asked, "Really?"
"Really," Daryl nodded vigorously.
Cecilia smiled, her hand caressing his sexy chest, silently agreeing.
Understanding that she had agreed, he immediately scooped her up from the beach and quickly walked towards the villa.
Much later, when the stars outside the floor-to-ceiling windows were about to fall asleep, the heavy breathing in the room finally began to subside.
Her hair was spread out on the pillow, and he, behind her, had his arm around her waist. Both were utterly exhausted.
"So strange," Cecilia said, her eyes barely open from sleepiness, but she insisted on staying awake, feeling that this moment was too beautiful, and the night outside too wonderful to just fall asleep.
"What's strange?" his voice was also a bit drowsy.
"Why hasn't your phone rung at all today?" Cecilia asked.
Usually, when they were together, his phone would ring every ten minutes, with senior executives from Fields Corporation seeking his guidance.
Daryl, who had already closed his eyes, smiled. "I turned it off when you were discharged today."
Cecilia, who was about to fall asleep, suddenly opened her eyes and turned to ask, "Really?"
In the dim light of the bedside lamp, Daryl opened his eyes, met her beautiful gaze, and touched her chin. "I wanted to spend these days with you, so I gave my phone to Douglas and told him not to disturb me, no matter what, and to handle everything himself."
Cecilia felt a wave of emotion.
Daryl was someone who took his work very seriously, almost to the point of loving it. For him to set aside his work to spend time with her showed how much he valued her.
Though deeply moved and enjoying this uninterrupted time, Cecilia couldn't help but say, "What if something important happens at the company?"
Seeing her worried expression, Daryl smiled and kissed her lips. "You are more important to me than anything else."
"Daryl," Cecilia smiled and buried her face in his neck.
Daryl rested his chin on her head, holding her tightly, feeling like he was holding the whole world.
After a long while, Daryl suddenly whispered in her ear, "My friend is reliable, right?"
Cecilia blushed and playfully hit him. "You're annoying!"
She knew exactly what he was referring to, and indeed, that thing was very useful.
Seeing her shy expression, Daryl continued to tease her, "How about we use another one?"
"You're annoying, I'm not talking to you anymore!" Cecilia turned her back to him, still in his arms.
Daryl glanced at the colorful box on the nightstand and smiled. "My friend knows my abilities well, getting me a large pack. Looks like I'll have to work extra hard these days!"
"Are you done? I'm tired and want to sleep!" her face was now completely red, and she pulled the blanket over her face.
Seeing Cecilia cover her face with the blanket, Daryl couldn't help but laugh. He pulled the blanket down and said, "I'm not done talking."
"You never have anything good to say," Cecilia said, raising her chin.
"I wanted to say that Sylvanor's stuff is really good. How about we buy more when we go back to Maple Valley?" Daryl continued to tease her.
"Daryl, shut up!" Cecilia pulled the blanket over his head.
Then, they started playfully wrestling on the bed.
They wrestled from the bed to the floor and back again, eventually leading to another round of lovemaking.
The night was quiet, the waves outside gentle, and the starlight hidden by clouds, while the two inside were filled with tenderness.
He had broken his promise, but she had no regrets. These past few days were the happiest of her life.
At night, she fell asleep in his warm embrace, a smile still on her lips.
