Chapter 968 Not Accepting His Kindness
Seeing the look in Leon's eyes, Isabella's face turned red, and she couldn't get a word out.
Inside, she was both anxious and mad because Leon was clearly trying to take advantage of her.
Noticing he had made her blush with anger, Leon felt a bit guilty and quickly tried to calm her down. "We've been walking for a while. Are you tired? Want to sit down and rest for a bit?"
Isabella glanced at the bench Leon pointed to by the roadside and shot him a glare. "Let's go back!"
She turned around and started walking back.
Leon had no choice but to walk beside her, but Isabella didn't want his help and pushed his hand away. He could only follow closely behind, ready to protect her.
As soon as they got into the villa, Kathy hurried over. "Ms. Brown, the cop just came by. They said your visa has expired, and you have three days to leave Northstar City and return to your country."
Hearing this, Isabella frowned and went upstairs to check her passport. Sure enough, her visa had expired a few days ago. She had been too careless and hadn't renewed it in time.
Isabella made several phone calls to see if she could extend her visa, but it was a no-go. She had to leave within the specified time, or she'd be deported.
Seeing Isabella's worried look, Leon stepped forward. "Why don't you come back to Maple Valley with me? There's really nothing special here, and you'd be lonely without many friends. It's much better back home."
Isabella turned to Leon, angry. "You want me to go back with you so you can do whatever you want, right? Dream on!"
The memory of him forcing her to have an abortion was still fresh in her mind. Isabella had been deeply hurt by it.
Seeing Isabella's hostile look, Leon frowned and tried to explain. "Isabella, I was wrong before. From now on, I'll treat you and the baby well. Please give me another chance, okay?"
"Get out! I need some peace. Please, can you just leave me alone?" Isabella was upset and agitated.
Seeing this, Leon, though reluctant to leave, didn't want to upset her further, so he left the room.
After the door closed, Isabella felt exhausted and leaned against the headboard.
In Northstar City, she had no relatives. The only people she could rely on were Cecilia and Kathy.
But Kathy was old and could only take care of her in daily life. If something happened, she wouldn't be much help. And Cecilia could only sneak out when Daryl wasn't around; she had almost no freedom.
If she had the baby in Northstar City, she would face many problems. Although Susan promised to come when she gave birth, Isabella would still have to return home to raise her kid.
Isabella missed Maple Valley. It was the place she was familiar with and felt safe. But she was afraid that if she returned, Leon would restrict her freedom. After all, his attempt to reconcile seemed suspicious. She worried he would take the baby away once it was born.
She'd been pregnant for over seven months and felt a deep bond with the baby. Isabella couldn't imagine being without her child.
Isabella was terrified that if she went back to Maple Valley, Leon could easily take the baby away.
After thinking it over, Isabella decided to call Susan.
After hearing Isabella's story, Susan said, "Since you can't extend your visa, you should come back to Maple Valley. If you have the baby here, I can help you find the best hospital and hire the best nanny. I'll take care of everything. Just come back."
Hearing this, Isabella felt a warmth inside but still frowned. "But I'm scared. What if Leon tries to take the baby from me when I return to Maple Valley?"
"The baby is both of yours. How can he take it away? Do you plan to raise the kid alone? Haven't you reconciled yet?" Susan asked.
Isabella smiled bitterly. "How could I be with someone who wanted to kill my baby?"
Susan frowned. "Isabella, I don't know why Leon wanted you to have an abortion, but I'm sure he had his reasons. You should talk to him instead of holding a grudge."
"No matter the reason, he shouldn't want to kill his own child. I won't be with someone so cold-blooded," Isabella said firmly.
Sensing Isabella's determination, Susan said, "Alright, if you don't want to reconcile with Leon, that's fine. Just have Kathy pack up and come back to Maple Valley. I'll take care of everything. I'm really worried you'll give birth on the plane if you delay any longer."
"But I'm afraid that once I have the baby, Leon will take it away!" This was Isabella's biggest concern.
At this point, Susan laughed. "Don't worry. As long as I'm here, Leon won't be able to take your baby."
"Can you promise that?" Isabella was already panicking and didn't know what to do.
"I promise. I'm now the secretary to the CEO of Prosperity Group. I have a lot of people under my command and a lot of power!" Susan joked.
"Are you saying the CEO's secretary is more capable than his wife?" Isabella's face showed a hint of a smile.
"Either way, it's all me," Susan said cheerfully.
Isabella smiled, thinking she might have to rely on Susan in the future.
Then, Isabella started packing with Kathy.
Leon was quite happy and called several people to help move things.
On the day of the flight, Isabella's group had over ten suitcases, most of which were supplements Leon had bought for Isabella and things for the baby.
Leon and the driver pushed two luggage carts in front, while Kathy supported Isabella from behind.
"Ms. Brown, Mr. Johnson bought everything for the baby. He said the stuff here is additive-free and safer than back home. He also got you a lot of supplements and kept reminding me to make sure you take them when we get back," Kathy praised Leon to Isabella.
Isabella was tired of hearing it. Sometimes, she really suspected that Leon had bribed Kathy to speak well of him every day.
When boarding the plane, Leon, worried, personally supported Isabella.
This time, Isabella didn't refuse because Kathy was old and had trouble walking.
