Chapter 113 Impulsive

Susan's words made Cynthia furious, and she raised her hand, ready to strike.

"Don't even think about it. There are cameras everywhere, and our fight is being recorded. I work at a top law firm in Maple Valley, and I wouldn't mind a lawsuit with you." Susan warned, pointing at a camera.

Cynthia hesitated, then smirked. "Oh, right. You're with George now. But remember, George and Seb are brothers. Seb knows about you two, and he won't share. So, give it up!"

Hearing the phrase "sharing a woman" again made Susan furious. She couldn't stand it anymore.

"If you don't leave, I won't hold back!" Susan stepped forward, pointing at Cynthia.

Isabella quickly grabbed Susan's arm, worried she might do something rash. Cynthia wasn't someone to mess with, especially with Seb backing her.

Realizing she was outnumbered, Cynthia stepped back but kept her tough tone. "Just wait, Susan. Someone will deal with you!"

She turned and walked away quickly.

"Ugh! Shameless," Isabella muttered.

Susan turned to Isabella. "You were too impulsive. Don't risk your job for me. Cynthia's connection with Seb could affect you, especially since you work at Prosperity Group."

"If she ever becomes the boss's wife, I'll quit immediately!" Isabella shouted.

Susan frowned. "Is it worth risking your job over her? It's hard to find a good job these days, especially with the benefits at Prosperity Group. Think about Michelle; she's still being taken care of by a nanny back home!"

Isabella deflated. Her mom, Michelle, had a stroke and needed constant care. The cost of living in Maple Valley was too high, so Isabella had to send Michelle back to their hometown and hire a nanny. She visited every weekend, but the expenses were overwhelming. Losing her job at Prosperity Group would be a disaster.

"Oh no, you're late!" Susan checked her watch.

Isabella glanced at the time and ran off. "Gotta go, talk later!"

That afternoon, Susan took a leave, bought some fruit, and headed to the suburban villa. She wanted to avoid Seb over the weekend and hoped to get some info about Hayden from Mary.

Susan rang the doorbell, and Mary answered, surprised to see her.

"Ms. Wilson?"

Susan realized she was being a bit forward, given her lack of a direct connection to Hayden.

"Mary, I was in the area and thought I'd stop by to see Hayden. I really miss him." Susan tried to smile, not great at lying.

"Come in. Hayden's sleeping." Mary led her inside, making a shushing gesture.

Susan followed quietly. When she saw Hayden in his crib, she couldn't help but walk over.

Hayden was sleeping soundly under a small blanket, drool on his mouth, and his chubby hands raised above his head, looking both silly and adorable.

Susan gently wiped the drool from his mouth with a tissue, her eyes filled with love.

"Ms. Wilson, have some water." Mary placed a glass on the coffee table.

"Thanks." Susan sat on the sofa.

Mary looked at Hayden and said, "He's so cute and well-behaved. I've been taking care of him since he was brought back, and I missed him when I was away."

Mary's words echoed Susan's feelings. Despite her emotions, Susan didn't forget her purpose and asked, "Mary, have you been taking care of Hayden since he was born?"

"Yes, Mr. Anderson brought him back from the orphanage, and I've been with him since," Mary replied.

"I wonder what kind of parents could abandon such a cute child," Susan said.

"Exactly! They should be struck by lightning," Mary cursed.

"Which orphanage was Hayden brought from?" Susan asked, sensing the moment.

Mary hesitated, then smiled, "I think Mr. Anderson mentioned it, but I forgot."

"Oh." Susan felt a bit disappointed but kept smiling.

Hayden woke up after a while, happy to see Susan and clinging to her. Susan, delighted by his enthusiasm, stayed until evening.

"Ms. Wilson, feel free to visit anytime. Hayden likes you," Mary said as she saw Susan out.

"I definitely will." Susan wouldn't refuse; she had a special affection for Hayden.

Leaving the villa, Susan felt a bit disappointed she didn't find out which orphanage Hayden came from, but seeing him made her content.

In the evening, as soon as Seb got into the car, Leon reported, "Mr. Anderson, Mary called earlier and said Ms. Wilson visited Hayden this afternoon."

Seb hesitated, then asked, "Did she say anything special?"

"Mary said Ms. Wilson asked about which orphanage Hayden was brought from," Leon replied.

Seb thought for a moment, then a cold smile appeared. He instructed Leon, "Tell Mary to say Hayden was brought from Angel Orphanage if Susan asks again."

"Yes, sir." Leon nodded.

Seb, still uneasy, reminded, "Make sure everything is arranged perfectly, no flaws."

"Don't worry, Mr. Anderson." Leon nodded again.
