Chapter 356 What Are You Doing Here

Leon’s words kinda rattled Susan, but she kept her cool on the outside.

She owed Seb big time; without him, she’d be behind bars for sure.

But even though she was grateful, she just couldn’t bring herself to kiss up to him.

And Seb, a man, actually tried to charm Linda? That just made her feel all kinds of weird.

Even though Seb and Linda didn’t actually do anything at Azure Haven, there was definitely some weird tension, which made Susan uneasy.

Right then, her phone started buzzing in her purse.

Susan pulled it out, thinking it was Isabella wondering why she wasn’t home yet. But nope, it was Mary calling. She couldn’t help but grin, thinking, ‘Bet it’s Hayden or Spring missing me and bugging Mary to call.’

Susan answered with a smile, “Mary, is it…”

But Mary cut her off, sounding all panicked, “Ms. Wilson, Spring’s got a fever. I couldn’t reach Mr. Anderson, so I had to call you. Can you grab some fever meds for Spring? Kathy’s out of town, and I’m the only one here, so I can’t leave.”

Susan’s heart skipped a beat. “Okay, I’ll get the meds and be there ASAP!”

She hung up and turned to Leon, “We gotta get some fever medicine right now. Spring’s got a fever!”

“Got it.” Leon was a bit taken aback but quickly spun the car around, almost hitting the one behind. He didn’t care and sped to the nearest pharmacy.

Half an hour later, Susan rushed into the villa with the meds.

Seeing Spring lying there, face all red, Susan’s distressed. She quickly gave her the medicine and held her close to help her sweat it out.

An hour later, Spring’s fever finally broke, but it was already midnight, and there was no way Susan could go home now.

Seeing how exhausted Susan looked, Mary suggested, “Ms. Wilson, why don’t you crash in the guest room upstairs and head back in the morning? Mr. Johnson’s already left, and it’s tough to get a cab this late. Plus, it’s not safe for a woman to be out alone at this hour.”

Susan didn’t have much of a choice, and she was still worried about Spring’s fever coming back. So she nodded.

Knowing the place well, Susan headed straight to the bathroom for a shower.

After a long day, she felt all gross and needed a hot shower to maybe help with her headache too.

Half an hour later, she stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel.

She’d taken all her clothes last time, so no pajamas this time. Looked like she’d be sleeping in the buff tonight.

But honestly, after that hot shower, she felt way more awake, and her headache was gone.

Just as Susan was about to close the curtains, the door behind her suddenly flew open!

Startled, Susan spun around and saw a figure stumbling in.

Seb was clutching the door frame, his eyes locked on Susan, who was only wrapped in a towel, like he was trying to see right through it.

Seeing Seb back so suddenly, Susan quickly hugged herself, her face turning red. "What are you doing here?"

Seb’s eyes darkened as he shut the door with one hand and pressed his stomach with the other. "I should be asking you, what are you doing here?"

Even though this was a guest room she’d stayed in before, it was still Seb’s house.

"Spring had a fever. Mary couldn’t reach you, so she called me to bring some fever meds. It got too late, so I stayed the night." Susan’s voice trailed off, and she hugged herself tighter. Luckily, the towel was long enough to cover the essentials.

Seb leaned against the door, his eyes still glued to Susan, making her a bit freaked out.

Finally, Susan couldn’t take it anymore and yelled, "You’ve asked your questions. Can you leave now?"

"How’s Spring?" Seb’s face was twisted, and he spoke weakly.

Susan thought Seb was drunk, so she replied, "The fever’s down. Mary’s with her."

"That’s good." Seb said, then, still holding his stomach, walked forward.

Seeing Seb coming closer, Susan turned pale. "What are you doing?"

Seb glanced at her and then flopped onto the bed, leaning against the headboard. "Relax, I’m not interested in anyone right now."

Seeing Seb didn’t come closer, Susan felt a bit relieved.

But his words made her misunderstand his meaning.

Susan glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already past 1 AM. Seb had taken Linda home and only came back in the middle of the night. A lot could happen in those hours.

Seeing Seb lying on her bed, Susan got anxious. "Hey, your bed is next door!"

Seb, still holding his stomach, grimaced. "This is my house. I can sleep wherever I want!"

"Don’t you have any sense?" Susan stomped her foot in anger. If it wasn’t almost 2 AM, she would’ve left right then.

Seb didn’t argue anymore and just closed his eyes.

After a while of silence, Susan tilted her head and saw Seb frowning, his lips trembling.

Something seemed off with Seb. She walked a few steps closer and saw sweat on his forehead and a pained look on his face.

Seeing Seb looking so sick, Susan couldn’t care about anything else and quickly asked, "What’s wrong? You okay?"

She looked him up and down but couldn’t figure it out.

"Medicine." Seb opened his lips.

"What medicine?" Susan was confused, not knowing what he was talking about. But she could tell Seb was really sick and in pain, which made her nervous.

"Stomach medicine." Seb barely opened his eyes.
