Chapter 1120 Concern
Immediately, the coffee table was kicked 1.5 feet away, and the tea set on it fell to the floor, shattering into a mess.
Facing the furious Daryl, Cecilia took a step back.
She didn't know what was wrong with her; every time he humiliated or mocked her, she would deliberately provoke him.
But seeing him in a rage didn't make her feel any better; instead, it made her feel even worse.
Looking up, Cecilia saw that Daryl's eyes were red.
Daryl pointed at Cecilia and angrily scolded, "What kind of woman are you? Don't you have any sense of shame? How can you be so despicable?"
"You didn't just meet me today. Since you've always believed I'm such a worthless woman, why are you so angry?" Cecilia looked at Daryl with furrowed brows, her eyes filled with pain.
At that moment, Daryl suddenly threw his head back and laughed wildly.
Cecilia looked at Daryl in confusion, feeling that he was hiding something deep inside. His eyes were sometimes complex, sometimes profound, and she couldn't figure out what he was thinking. She just felt he was getting further and further away from her.
After laughing, Daryl looked at Cecilia and said, "Yes, you're just a woman who only cares about money. Why should I be angry with you? I came here today to make a clean break. I'm getting engaged tomorrow, and I don't want you to interfere in my life anymore because I love Skylar very much, and I want to give her happiness."
As he said this, Daryl's eyes were fixed on Cecilia, not wanting to miss any subtle expression on her face.
Hearing that Daryl was getting engaged to Skylar tomorrow, Cecilia was stunned.
Cecilia suddenly smiled bitterly in her heart.
Just now, she still held a glimmer of hope that Daryl would take responsibility for their baby, but it was just wishful thinking.
Cecilia thought to herself, 'He loves Skylar and is going to marry her, and I am just a momentary fling for him.'
A trace of sadness and despair flashed in Cecilia's eyes, but she quickly hid her disappointment.
The next moment, Cecilia looked at Daryl calmly and said, "Is that so? Then congratulations."
"Thank you." Daryl's face showed no expression.
Then, Cecilia said seriously, "Mr. Fields, rest assured, I still have my professional ethics. I will never interfere in your life again, nor do I want to see you again, so I think you're overthinking it."
Hearing this, Daryl opened his mouth to say something, but Cecilia quickly added, "Besides, I will move out of this apartment immediately and have nothing to do with you anymore!"
After saying this, Cecilia didn't want to hear anything Daryl had to say. She turned and walked into the room, starting to pack her belongings.
This place suffocated her and made her feel ashamed. She had to leave immediately.
Although she didn't know where she could go after leaving, she would rather be homeless than accept his charity and let him look down on her even more.
Seeing the kicked-over coffee table and the mess on the floor, Daryl felt short of breath and loosened his tie.
He walked lightly to the bedroom door and saw Cecilia quickly putting her things into a suitcase, frowning.
Then, Daryl looked at Cecilia and said, "You can move out after you find a place. I don't live in this apartment anyway."
Hearing this, Cecilia's hand froze, then she put the last two pieces of clothing into the suitcase and closed it.
The next moment, Cecilia turned to Daryl and said coldly, "Thank you for your kindness, but it's not necessary!"
After saying this, Cecilia pulled her suitcase and walked out.
"Please move aside!" At the bedroom door, Cecilia glared at Daryl blocking the way.
Seeing the angry Cecilia, Daryl didn't move, frowning as he stared at her and said, "I advise you to reconsider. The rent and hotels in Maple Valley are very expensive. It's not too late to move after you find a place, or you can accept this apartment and the bank card. Your life will be easier."
Although Cecilia knew Daryl meant well, she felt he was looking down on her and offering charity, which she couldn't stand.
Then, Cecilia sneered. "Mr. Fields, I think you underestimate my abilities. Maple Valley is an international metropolis with many wealthy people. Maybe I'll find another backer soon, so you don't need to worry!"
After saying this, Cecilia pushed Daryl aside, and he stepped away from the door.
With tightly closed lips and furrowed brows, Cecilia resolutely pulled her suitcase and walked out the door.
As soon as Cecilia walked out the door, she heard a muffled sound from inside.
It sounded like something hitting the wall.
Hearing this, Cecilia's heart tightened.
She seemed to guess what had happened inside. Just now, she saw anger and frustration in Daryl's eyes.
But none of this mattered to her anymore. Daryl had made it very clear that he was getting engaged to Skylar tomorrow. Their relationship was over, and he didn't want anything to do with her anymore.
The next moment, the elevator arrived, and Cecilia walked straight in, pressing the button for the first floor.
After Cecilia left, Daryl slumped on the couch, struggling to pull a cigarette from the pack and slowly lighting it.
As the smoke rose around his head, Daryl felt exhausted, leaning back on the couch with his eyes half-closed, his brows tightly furrowed.
At this moment, his fingers holding the cigarette were already cracked, with some blood and flesh exposed.
After resting for a while, Daryl suddenly thought of something, immediately pulling out his phone with his left hand and clumsily dialing his secretary's number.
"Find out Seb's wife Susan's phone number for me as soon as possible!" After saying this, Daryl hung up.
Cecilia walked out of the neighborhood in one breath, then walked quickly for a long time before finding a bench in a corner of a park.
Sitting on the bench, Cecilia suddenly burst into tears.
She and Daryl had parted so simply. An hour ago, she was still fantasizing about forming a happy family with him.
This was for the best, cutting off all thoughts, never to trouble herself again.
Suddenly, her stomach churned, and Cecilia began to vomit violently.
