Chapter 1309 This Is How You Care About Me?

Cecilia remembered that time she was crying in the greenhouse when Elijah walked in. He said a few words to her and then comforted her. In her sadness, she had a bit of physical contact with Elijah. At the time, it didn't seem like a big deal, but now, looking at the photos, it was clear how compromising it appeared. The person who took these photos must have had malicious intentions, as the angles were very cunning.

Ignoring Azalea's curses, Cecilia looked up and asked, "Mom, where did you get these photos?"

Azalea was momentarily at a loss for words. "Well..."

Cecilia frowned, her mind racing. These photos were taken here. Could someone in the Fields family be spying on her?

The next moment, Azalea regained her composure and said confidently, "I'm not afraid to tell you. These photos were left in our mailbox by a good Samaritan. They made it clear they were seeking justice. All we've provided, and still cause trouble for the Fields family. It's simply intolerable!"

Hearing this, Cecilia stepped forward, took the photos, and turned to leave.

"Where are you going?" Azalea shouted as Cecilia walked away.

But Cecilia didn't respond and went straight out the door.

After Cecilia left, Azalea pointed towards the door and angrily said to Finn, "Look at her attitude!"

Finn replied, "I think she's going to see Mr. Daryl Fields."

Azalea squinted and nodded, "It won't help her. Daryl already hates her!"

"But we can't let our guard down. She's cunning and knows how to manipulate men. We need to stay vigilant," Finn reminded Azalea.

"You're right. Keep an eye on her," Azalea agreed.

Cecilia left the Fields family mansion and hailed a cab to the Fields Group building.

Sitting in the cab, Cecilia clutched the photos, feeling panicked. She hadn't expected someone to capture those moments. She deeply regretted not controlling her emotions in front of Elijah that day, leading to the physical contact.

No wonder Daryl reacted so strongly when he saw her with Elijah. He must have seen these photos already. His business trip to Skyhaven was just a ruse to test her.

Thinking of this, Cecilia felt a deep sadness. Despite everything they had been through, Daryl still didn't trust her. He truly believed she had an inappropriate relationship with Elijah.

Although Cecilia was angry at Daryl for not trusting her, she felt an urgent need to explain. She didn't want him to misunderstand, especially regarding Elijah, who was Daryl's brother, and she didn't want to see them turn against each other. Remembering Daryl's cold gaze that day, she knew how angry and disappointed he had been. No wonder he had lost control.

Cecilia arrived at the executive floor and, without waiting for an announcement, pushed open Daryl's office door.

"Mrs. Fields, the president ordered no one to enter," the secretary tried to stop her, but it was too late.

Cecilia had already entered the office, and everyone inside turned to look at her.

Daryl was sitting at his desk, giving instructions to three senior executives of Fields Corporation.

Daryl's expression remained calm when he saw Cecilia. He turned to the executives and said, "Carry out my orders immediately."

"Get it," the executives quickly bowed their heads and left.

Cecilia walked into the office.

The secretary stood nervously at the door. Daryl waved her away, and she gratefully exited, closing the door behind her.

Now, only Daryl and Cecilia were left in the spacious office.

Cecilia felt the tension in the air, despite the large space.

Daryl didn't look at her. He slowly stood up, walked to the corner of the desk, took a cigarette from a metal case, and lit it with a lighter. He then irritably tossed the lighter onto the desk, the metal clinking loudly against the wood.

Seeing him smoke angrily, Cecilia frowned and stepped closer.

"I knew you'd show up today. It seems your family is what you care about most," Daryl said, his tone tinged with bitterness.

Meeting his gaze, Cecilia softly replied, "I care about you too."

Daryl was taken aback, then smirked.

His laugh made Cecilia's heart ache.

Daryl stopped laughing and stared sharply at Cecilia. "You got involved with my brother. Is this how you show you care about me?"

Cecilia felt painful in her heart. She met Daryl's piercing gaze and asked sadly, "Daryl, after everything we've been through, don't you know me at all? Do you really think I would do something so despicable?"

Daryl frowned but remained firm. "The evidence is right in front of me. Don't pretend anymore, Cecilia. If you did it, stop acting innocent."

Tears streamed down Cecilia's face. She wiped them away, feeling utterly heartbroken. She couldn't believe Daryl distrusted her so much. His attitude left her disheartened, but she didn't want to be falsely accused. She also didn't want Elijah to bear this stain or for Daryl to be consumed by anger and sadness.

Cecilia took the photos from her bag and held them up to Daryl. "Is it because of these photos that you think there's something between Elijah and me?"

Daryl glanced at the photos, then angrily swatted Cecilia's hand, causing the photos to scatter on the carpet.

"How dare you ask? What grievance made you cry in Elijah's arms? I used to think you were lonely at home, that my mom treated you poorly and gave you too much work. Do you know I couldn't focus at work, always worrying about you? And this is how you repay my love?" Daryl shouted, his veins bulging in anger.
