Chapter 820 He Has Someone New He Likes
Susan hustled over to the VIP ward after a bit of a walk.
The door was half-open, and Susan, feeling jittery, stepped up to push it open.
But when she peeked inside, she froze.
The VIP ward was just as fancy as Susan'd expect—spacious, decked out, and filled with fresh flowers.
On the hospital bed, a good-looking guy in a striped hospital gown was half-sitting up, his leg wrapped in thick bandages, clearly broken.
Next to him sat a well-dressed, attractive young woman.
The woman, probably around thirty, looked sharp and smart.
Ellie, while peeling an apple, smiled and said, "You seem way better these past couple of days. You were out cold a few days ago, and it really freaked me out!"
Seb glanced at Ellie and softly said, "Sorry for making you worry."
Ellie rolled her eyes and playfully scolded, "Oh, stop it with that talk."
Seb smiled, reached out to touch Ellie's cheek, and said, "My bad."
"Here, have some apple." Ellie then popped a piece of apple into Seb's mouth.
Seb chewed the apple and smiled at Ellie, a smile was full of sweetness and trust.
Outside, Susan saw this and took a step back, totally stunned.
Susan's heart felt like it was being squeezed, the pain was unbearable.
She felt like she was in a fog, her mind blank.
She had no clue when Seb and Ellie had started this thing.
Seeing their lovey-dovey looks and hearing their sweet talk, Susan figured this wasn't something new.
Susan's legs went weak, and if she hadn't grabbed the wall, she would've hit the floor.
The next moment, Susan turned to look at Leon.
Leon was staring at her with a furrowed brow, looking serious.
Susan suddenly got it. Leon had told her to brace herself, and she thought it was for Seb's bad injury. Turns out, he meant to prepare her for Seb and Ellie's relationship.
But then again, Ellie was Seb's secretary, and Seb was always working, never taking a break. Ellie was the most dedicated secretary, reportedly working overtime as much as Leon in the whole Prosperity Group.
Susan had heard that Ellie, at thirty, was still single and supposedly didn't even have a date. Susan thought Ellie had high standards and just hadn't found the right guy. Now it seemed she had her eyes on Seb all along.
They were a boss and a secretary, spending so much time together. It would be weird if nothing happened, especially since they were a good match in age and looks.
But what about her? Just over a week ago, he was sweet-talking her every day, saying how much he missed her and wanted her by his side. Now it all seemed like a joke. She was the fool, the one who got played.
A wave of sadness, anger, disappointment, and sorrow crashed over Susan.
Her heart felt like it was being ripped apart, bleeding out.
The next moment, Susan walked step by step into the ward.
No wonder she couldn't reach him these past few days; he already had another woman by his side.
When Susan reached the center of the ward, Seb and Ellie finally noticed her.
This time, Ellie didn't stand up and greet Susan with a smile like usual but stared at her coldly.
Seb frowned at her, his gaze unfamiliar and distant.
That unfamiliar and distant look hurt Susan even more.
Susan sneered and said coldly, "No wonder I couldn't reach your phone. You were here enjoying the care of a beautiful woman!"
Then, Susan turned her gaze to Ellie. "You are quite the dedicated secretary, taking care of both his work and personal life."
Susan's anger and sadness were clear in her tone, dripping with sarcasm, but all she could do was make cutting remarks. She couldn't bring herself to curse.
Ellie didn't retort but looked at Seb's face.
Seb frowned, clearly annoyed, and said, "Who are you? What are you doing barging into my ward?"
Hearing this, Susan stared at Seb in disbelief.
Susan was furious, raising her chin and sneering. "Seb, it's bad enough you betrayed our relationship, but now you're pretending not to know me? Isn't that a bit too shameless?"
Seb immediately exploded with anger. "Where did this crazy woman come from? I don't know you at all. How could I have any relationship with you? If you don't leave, I'll call security!"
Hearing Seb's threat, Susan was unmoved.
She glanced at Ellie and said mockingly, "Now that you have someone new, I'm the crazy woman. How ridiculous."
Susan laughed until tears came out, not understanding why Seb was putting on such an act.
If he had fallen for someone else, he could have just told her. She wouldn't even use their kids as leverage.
"You..." Seb was about to call security.
Ellie, however, grabbed Seb's hand and softly said, "Seb, don't be angry. She's Susan, the mother of Hayden and Spring. Maybe it's been too long since you last saw her, so you didn't recognize her."
Hearing this, Seb's eyes widened in shock.
Susan also stared at Ellie in astonishment. 'What is going on? Does Seb really not recognize me?'
It had only been three months since she last saw Seb.
After hearing Ellie's words, Seb looked at Susan with a hint of disdain.
Seb's disdainful look was unbearable for Susan. He had never looked at her like that, not even when he deeply misunderstood her in the past.
