Chapter 718 Interrogation
Susan's eyes were fixed on Seb in front of her, who looked both regretful and clenched-teeth frustrated.
Why wouldn't he just admit that he had nothing to do with those women? Was he afraid she'd make fun of him? That was ridiculous. She'd be relieved, happy even.
At this moment, Susan looked at Seb and said, "Don't you know if the child is yours?"
"Susan, what are you trying to say?" Seb's eyes were fixed on Susan.
Seeing him staring at her, Susan furrowed. "You know what I'm talking about."
"But I didn't do anything with her!" Seb felt extremely wronged at this moment.
"Who would believe that?" Susan rolled her eyes at Seb.
Seb was very frustrated at this point. "Yeah, probably no one would believe that I have nothing to do with Esme!"
Hearing this, Susan glanced at Seb.
Seb met Susan's gaze, and at that moment, his eyes flickered. He then tightly grabbed Susan's hand and asked, "Susan, what do you really mean?"
"I don't mean anything." Susan knew she couldn't keep up the act much longer and was about to be exposed.
"No, this doesn't make sense," Seb muttered to himself.
"What doesn't make sense?" Susan asked, holding back a laugh.
"If Esme was claiming to have my baby, you'd be furious. Heartbroken, even. But you're… not. You're enjoying this, aren't you? You're messing with me." He pointed a finger accusingly at her.
At this point, Susan frowned and said, "I just said Esme is pregnant. I never said the baby was yours!"
Hearing this, Seb realized he had been tricked and grinned. "You were testing me?"
"Why would I test you?" Susan immediately withdrew her hand.
At this point, Seb's face was full of smiles. "You were testing my relationship with Esme. You're jealous!"
Upon hearing this, Susan pretended to find it very funny, picked up her knife and fork, and said while eating, "If I were jealous, wouldn't I have been furious long ago? Without Esme, aren't there still many celebrities and models around you?"
"That was just for show. I haven't been in contact with them for a long time." Sensing something was wrong, Seb quickly explained.
"Who knows? I'm not with you 24/7." Susan said jealously.
"If you don't believe me, you can ask Leon," Seb said confidently.
"You pay Leon's salary, don't you? If I ask him, will he tell me the truth?" Susan shook her head.
"Then what will it take for you to believe me?" Seb asked urgently.
Susan pouted. "I don't know either."
Seb, feeling desperate, looked around and then leaned forward, whispering, "Do I need to wear a chastity belt for you to trust me?"
Hearing this, Susan couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Seeing Susan laugh, Seb finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After laughing, Susan glanced at Seb and said, "That would only prove your loyalty to me in the future. What about the past?"
"The past is the past, and the future is the future," Seb said.
"That's not acceptable." Susan insisted.
Seeing that Susan wouldn't let it go, Seb finally had no choice but to whisper, "Actually, I never touched any of those women!"
He finally told the truth, and Susan felt very happy inside.
However, she still pretended and said, "Those women are stunning and charming, and you didn't touch any of them? Are you trying to fool me?"
At the end, Susan deliberately put on a stern face.
"If you don't believe me, you can ask them one by one," Seb said helplessly.
"Ask them? Would they tell me the truth? Wouldn't they just slap me?" Susan rolled her eyes at Seb.
In the end, Seb couldn't take it anymore and whispered, "I'll tell you the truth, okay? I didn't react to any of those women. They all thought I was impotent, so they took some money and resources and left. None of them ever bothered me again! But there were one or two persistent ones who even introduced me to doctors for that issue, which made me so angry that I kicked them out. They thought they had hurt my male pride and never dared to contact me again."
As he said this, Seb's expression was very helpless.
At this point, Susan couldn't help but laugh, her shoulders shaking.
But she also felt sorry for him, coming up with such a method.
"Is it that funny?" Seeing Susan laugh until her stomach hurt, Seb's face darkened.
Seeing that he seemed to be getting angry, Susan quickly stopped laughing.
At this point, Seb seemed to understand something and stared at Susan, asking, "Did you know something all along? Why do I feel something is off?"
"Did you find those women just to upset me?" Susan didn't answer but asked back.
At this point, Seb stared at Susan with questioning eyes.
Susan smirked. "That time you took Esme to the salon across from my office was intentional, wasn't it? You also instructed those tabloid reporters to publish photos of you with those women in gossip magazines for the same purpose, right? Do you really think your little tricks would upset me?"
Hearing these words, Seb couldn't stay calm.
"Who told you all this?" After a while, Seb asked in frustration.
"Did you really think I was that clueless?" At this moment, Susan suddenly got emotional, and all the grievances she had felt came flooding back, making her nose tingle.
"No, I..." Seb was at a loss for words and didn't know what to say.
At this point, Susan couldn't hold back her tears.
"Please don't cry," Seb pleaded, his eyes darting around the restaurant in embarrassment. He quickly grabbed some napkins and offered them to her.
Susan took the tissue and quickly wiped her tears.
However, she couldn't control her emotions, and all the grievances in her heart came pouring out.
Susan knew it was really embarrassing to cry in a restaurant, so the next moment, she stood up abruptly, grabbed her bag, and ran out.
"Susan!" Seeing this, Seb quickly grabbed both his and Susan's coats and chased after her.
At this point, a waiter stepped forward to stop Seb. "Sir, you haven't paid the bill yet."
Seb quickly pulled out his wallet, took out a thick wad of cash, threw it onto the waiter's tray, and then turned to leave.
