Chapter 1216 The Happiest Woman in the World
He pressed her against the wall and gave her a passionate and lingering kiss.
He didn't let go until she was gasping for breath.
Her face was flushed, and she leaned against the wall, her eyes slightly dazed from his kiss.
Seeing her lovestruck expression, Daryl reached out and patted her on the head. "Hurry up and change clothes. I'll take you out for breakfast."
"Okay." Cecilia nodded and quickly ran back to the bedroom to change.
Of course, she locked the door.
Since he wanted to avoid suspicion, she would cooperate. This felt quite good—everything had to follow a sequence, and nothing could disrupt the order.
Half an hour later, she finally finished freshening up and changing clothes.
Daryl, who was sitting on the sofa, glanced at his watch. "You are so troublesome. Exactly thirty-one minutes."
Wearing a khaki sweater dress, Cecilia playfully said, "What? Getting impatient after waiting for half an hour?"
Daryl stood up, took her hand, and said, "I wouldn't get impatient even if I waited for half a century."
Cecilia smiled, satisfied with his answer.
"Let's go!" he then took her hand and walked out the door.
"What do you want to eat?" Daryl asked with a smile.
Cecilia looked up at the sky, thought for a moment, and suddenly said, "Street food."
Daryl frowned. "Why?"
"I just want to eat street food." Cecilia felt that their experience with street food last night was wonderful—the cold weather, the steaming pasta, and their warm smiles.
After thinking for a moment, Daryl nodded. "Alright, let's go get some street food."
After wandering for about half an hour, Daryl finally parked the car near a street food area.
It was almost noon by now, and the area was populated by ordinary people, so there were many simple houses. These food stalls had tables and chairs set up outside, and many people looking for cheap and convenient meals would fill their stomachs there.
After Cecilia sat down, Daryl went to get two bowls of pasta.
There were only the owner and his wife, and business was good, and there were no waiters to serve the food.
She sat quietly at the table, resting her chin in her hands, watching Daryl bring bowl after bowl of steaming pasta and make several trips to get utensils.
After getting all the food and utensils, Daryl finally sat down across from Cecilia.
Seeing her gazing intently at him, Daryl touched his face and asked, "Is there something on my face?"
"No." Cecilia shook her head with a smile.
"Then why are you looking at me like that?" Daryl frowned.
Cecilia stretched her neck and whispered, "You looked so handsome carrying the pasta just now!"
Daryl was stunned for a moment, then blushed and shyly lowered his head to start eating the pasta.
Cecilia was surprised to see Daryl blush. She had thought he was someone who never got embarrassed and could handle any pressure.
Then, Cecilia also started eating her pasta with a smile. She quite liked this shy Daryl.
After they were full, Daryl drove Cecilia out of the city.
Seeing the car quickly leave Maple Valley, Cecilia couldn't help but turn and ask, "Where are you taking me?"
"You'll know when we get there." Daryl smiled, his right hand holding her left hand the whole time.
She completely trusted him. She didn't care where he took her, as long as they were together.
All the way, he held her hand tightly.
She tried to pull her hand back, but he held on tightly.
Cecilia had to say, "You need to focus on driving, don't get distracted!"
Daryl stubbornly said, "Don't worry, I can multitask."
Cecilia caught the flaw in his words. "You mean you can multitask in everything?"
Daryl smiled. "I knew you were waiting to catch me on that."
"It's your fault for saying it wrong," Cecilia pouted.
Daryl lifted her hand and kissed the back of it, his eyes still on the road ahead. "Don't worry, I'll always be devoted to you."
"That's more like it." Cecilia smiled, satisfied with his answer.
More than half an hour later, Cecilia saw a vast blue ocean ahead.
"You brought me to the beach? Why didn't you say so earlier? I haven't been to the beach in ages." Seeing the blue ocean, Cecilia was thrilled.
Seeing her excitement, Daryl smiled. "I knew you'd like it here."
The car soon stopped near the beach, and he took her hand and stepped onto the soft sand.
Before long, they stood in front of the vast ocean, the sound of waves crashing against the shore in their ears.
"When I'm unhappy, I often come here. Looking at the endless ocean can lift your spirits." his deep eyes gazed at the boundless sea.
Cecilia said, "When I'm unhappy, I can only lie in bed. That's the difference between you and me."
Going to see the sea, and the mountains, or even wandering the earth when unhappy—that was the privilege of the wealthy. For someone like her, who had nothing, being unhappy meant curling up in her little corner.
Daryl smiled, reached out, and tapped her nose. "With you, I won't be unhappy anymore. Even if I am, you'll cheer me up."
Cecilia wrapped her arms around his neck and said with a smile, "Alright, but you have to take me to see the sea often!"
Daryl turned his face away with a smile and said nonchalantly, "That's nothing. If you like, I'll take you to see the sea every day."
She felt incredibly happy and hugged him tightly.
The weather was a bit gloomy today, and the wind blew her hair. He gently brushed away the strands of hair blown by the wind, and his tenderness was heart-wrenching.
They spent the entire afternoon there.
They sat on the beach, leaning against each other. The weather was a bit chilly, so he took off his jacket and draped it over her They seemed to have endless whispers to share.
'Is this what love feels like?' Cecilia suddenly felt like the happiest woman in the world.
