Chapter 809 Pregnancy

Seeing Susan, Isabella's emotions settled a bit, but she still kept her head down, crying quietly.

"Why'd you come to Northstar City without telling me? Does Leon know you're here?" Susan asked, clearly worried.

At the mention of Leon's name, Isabella broke down again.

Seeing Isabella so heartbroken, Susan knew it had to be about Leon.

Susan pulled out her phone and said, "Did Leon do something to you? Fine, if you won't tell me, I'll call him and find out!"

She started dialing, but Isabella quickly grabbed the phone. "Don't call him!"

Susan frowned, "What's going on?"

"I don't want to talk about it. Can you just stay with me?" Isabella looked so pitiful, a far cry from her usual fiery self.

Susan sighed, "The driver's waiting outside. Why don't you come home with me first?"

"Okay," Isabella nodded.

Susan noticed Isabella was dressed lightly and frowned, "Why are you wearing so little?"

She took off her own coat and draped it over Isabella.

Isabella didn't refuse, linking arms with Susan and putting on sunglasses to hide her swollen eyes.

"How was I supposed to know Northstar City would be so cold? Maple Valley is already warm and blooming," Isabella muttered as they walked.

Hearing her complain, Susan felt a bit relieved.

Isabella, like Susan, had always been strong, able to handle setbacks. Susan knew this well.

Susan took Isabella back to the villa, had her take a hot bath, change into pajamas, and settled her in the guest room to get some sleep and adjust to the time difference.

After dinner, Isabella, still in her pajamas, came to Susan's bedroom.

Susan, who had just finished washing her underwear, saw Isabella and smiled, "Did you sleep well? Are you hungry? I had Kathy save some food for you."

She was about to go downstairs to get the food, but Isabella stopped her. "I'm not hungry. I just want to talk."

Seeing the distress on Isabella's face, Susan nodded, and they sat on the bed like old times, each holding a soft pillow, sharing their thoughts.

"I'm pregnant!" Isabella finally blurted out, leaving Susan speechless.

After a moment, Susan said, "You're pregnant? Isn't that a good thing? You and Leon can get married because of the baby!"

Isabella sneered, "When I found out I was pregnant, I thought he'd be as happy as I was, but I was wrong. When I told him, he was in agony and insisted I get an abortion."

Susan was stunned. "What?"

Seeing Susan's shocked expression, Isabella bitterly smiled. "Surprised, right? I was too. Susan, he never intended to marry me. He probably just wanted to have fun. I was the fool who thought he truly loved me."

Isabella started crying again.

Susan was furious.

"I'm calling him to find out what he's thinking," Susan said, grabbing her phone.

But Isabella stopped her!

Through her tears, Isabella looked into Susan's eyes and said, "Susan, I've already made things clear with him. Don't make me go through this humiliation again."

Susan stared at her, "Made things clear? What do you mean?"

Isabella gently released Susan's hand, lowered her eyes, and said sadly, "He said he didn't want the child and never considered marriage. He even found an obstetrician for the abortion. I ran away secretly. You didn't witness just how fierce he was. If he finds me, he'll definitely force me to have the abortion!"

Seeing the fear in Isabella's eyes, Susan frowned deeply.

"How could this be? Is there some misunderstanding between you two?" Susan slumped on the bed.

Susan knew Leon well; he wasn't someone who would act recklessly. How could he now be so heartless as to not want his own child?

But it didn't seem like Isabella was lying. What was going on?

Susan suddenly asked, "Does Leon have another woman?"

Isabella was stunned!

"I've suspected that too these past few days. Maybe he doesn't want to marry me or have a child because he has another woman. I checked his phone and went to his house, searched through all his things, but found no clues. Could it be that he's just too good at hiding it?"

Susan thought for a moment and suddenly wanted to call Seb to get to the bottom of this matter.

Seb and Leon were very close; Seb would definitely know about Leon's situation. But Susan had an agreement with Seb not to see or contact each other for two years, and she couldn't break that rule.

In the end, Susan said, "Isabella, you call Seb and ask him directly!"

Isabella was stunned.

She knew all about Susan's situation and understood why Susan couldn't call Seb.

"Will Seb tell me the truth?" Isabella frowned.

"Can you handle the truth?" Susan asked.

Isabella frowned deeply.

Susan then said, "If Leon has another woman, what will you do?"

The light in Isabella's eyes dimmed, but she quickly placed her hand on her belly and firmly replied, "If he has someone else, I won't cling to him. But I will definitely have this child. This child is mine and I will raise it on my own!"

"But have you thought about it? A single woman raising a child will face many difficulties, including others' gossip," Susan reminded her.

She vividly remembered the hardships of raising Spring alone. Only she knew how tough it was.

At that time, she was fortunate to have George by her side; otherwise, Susan didn't know how she would have made it through.

"During those ten-plus hours on the plane, I thought a lot. I even considered giving up. But the thought of losing this child made my heart ache. I know if I give up this child, I will regret it for the rest of my life!" Isabella looked at Susan with sadness.
