Chapter 370 You Are the Most Shameless Man
"You are the most shameless man I've ever met!" Susan spat out, each word dripping with disdain.
How could he talk about sex in public? It was too embarrassing. Susan rubbed her forehead, trying to hide her embarrassment.
Seb, sitting across from her, just cracked up, flashing those pearly whites. His usually gloomy eyes were sparkling for once.
Honestly, that grin made his normally stern face look way less intimidating.
Susan peeked at Seb through her fingers. She had to admit, she liked this happy-go-lucky Seb. Not that she didn't dig the serious Seb too.
Even with the awkward vibes, she was kinda enjoying herself.
Just when things were getting good, a voice cut in.
"Mr. Anderson, dining here too? What a small world!" A guy in a slick silver tailcoat strolled over, all smiles, and greeted Seb like an old buddy.
"Mr. Robinson, what a coincidence." Seb didn't even bother to stand up.
But the guy was all nods and bows, super enthusiastic.
Susan looked up and froze.
It was Ethan, Dominic's son, now Sophia's stepson, and the man Amelia was dying to marry.
What were the odds of running into him here? Seeing Ethan made Susan think of Amelia right away.
She glanced around and spotted a young woman, all dolled up, sitting by the window. Must be Ethan's date.
No Amelia in sight. Weird.
Would Ethan really bring another chick here behind Amelia's back? Amelia would flip out.
Susan remembered the recent charity gala where Ethan didn't dare say a peep in front of Sophia and Amelia.
Made sense, though. Dominic was so head over heels for Sophia that he threatened to cut Ethan off if he didn't marry Amelia. Poor guy, he must be stuck.
Susan felt a bit sorry for Ethan. They both had crappy dads, and their mistresses were both Sophia.
Ethan, grinning ear to ear, grabbed Seb's hand. "Mr. Anderson, I can't thank you enough. If you ever need anything, just say the word, and I'm there!"
Susan's eyes widened. What had Seb done to make Ethan so grateful?
Seb just gave a casual smile. "Mr. Robinson, it's no big deal. I had my reasons for helping you."
"Doesn't matter why, you still helped me. This meal's on me. It's the least I can do." Ethan beamed.
Seb, a bit uncomfortable with Ethan holding his hand, pulled it back and looked at Susan. "I invited the mother of my kids for dinner. Letting someone else pay would be pretty embarrassing for me."
"The mother of your kids? Mr. Anderson, I had no idea you were married. Thought you were flying solo." Ethan turned to check out Susan.
He was about to introduce himself, but when he got a good look at Susan, he froze.
Susan felt the awkwardness too. Last time they met, she was George's girlfriend. Now, she was Seb's kids' mama.
All she could do was nod and smile politely. "Mr. Robinson, hey there."
"Ms. Wilson, didn't expect to see you here. You and Mr. Anderson..." Ethan looked totally confused, not sure what to say next.
Susan was at a loss for words too.
Luckily, Seb stepped in, all alpha-like, "Susan is my woman!"
Ethan was stunned, and Susan felt a warm glow inside. Seb's look was like a claim.
Ethan finally snapped out of it and said, "Mr. Anderson, you've got great taste. Ms. Wilson is stunning, graceful, and classy. Bet a lot of guys are after her, but you snagged her."
Even though Ethan was laying it on thick, Seb, who usually didn't care for flattery, seemed to enjoy it today, a smile playing on his lips.
"Mr. Robinson, your date must be getting impatient. Don't keep her waiting." Seb nodded towards the stylish young woman at the nearby table.
Ethan got the hint and quickly said, "I'll leave you two to it then!"
He smiled at Seb and Susan before heading back to his seat.
After Ethan left, Susan felt a bit uneasy under Seb's intense gaze.
"What's up?" Seb asked softly, noticing her discomfort.
"Nothing. Did I embarrass you?" Susan asked, a bit unsure.
After all, George was Seb's brother, and she almost married George. George was a big deal in Maple Valley. If Seb took her to events, this kind of thing might happen again.
Seb was also a big shot in Maple Valley. If people knew his wife almost married George, it could stir up some gossip.
Suddenly, a warm hand covered hers.
Susan looked up and met Seb's deep gaze.
"It was my fault for hurting you so badly that you ended up with George. I don't blame you for that." Seb said sincerely.
Hearing this, Susan smiled.
She thought Seb would be jealous and hold a grudge, but he was so understanding and forgiving.
"By the way, are you still mad at George?" Susan had always wanted to ask but never had the chance. Now she finally did.
Honestly, she didn't want Seb and George to have a strained relationship because of her. It would make her feel uneasy.
"George and I can never go back to the way we were." Seb frowned and said after a long pause.
