Chapter 1218 Flirting and Bickering

Daryl tightened his grip on her hand and said affectionately, "If I don't see you for a day, I think my stomachache will get worse."

Cecilia frowned. "Then make sure you eat lunch properly, no matter how busy you are. What's the point of a successful career if you ruin your health?"

Hearing her complaint, Daryl smiled. "You're getting more and more nagging, and more like the lady of the house."

Cecilia blushed. "Who's the lady of your house? Don't say such things."

"How is that nonsense? I used to want to make up for you with a sweet romance, but now I've changed my mind," Daryl said, gazing deeply into her eyes.

"You've changed your mind?" Cecilia asked, unwilling to accept it.

Seeing her displeasure, Daryl pulled her hand to his chest and said seriously, "I want to marry you as soon as possible so you can be with me all the time!"

Cecilia was stunned, staring at him for a second before stammering, "Marriage? Why did you suddenly think of that?"

To be honest, the word "marriage" was indeed tempting to her.

Although she enjoyed dating Daryl now, she longed to live with him day and night, to build a happy family together.

"Because the long nights are too lonely alone," Daryl said sincerely.

"You're so annoying, not serious at all!" Cecilia blushed and pulled her hand away.

Seeing her shyness, Daryl said ambiguously, "How am I not serious? I'm telling the truth. It's too lonely at night alone. It's better with two people; we can cuddle and sleep together, and if we can't sleep..."

Daryl deliberately paused.

Cecilia frowned and asked, "What can we do if we can't sleep?"

"If we can't sleep, we can..." Daryl glanced at her and reached out to grab her hand again.

Cecilia immediately understood his mischievous intent, when she tried to pull her hand back, Daryl wouldn't let go.

"We can chat," Daryl continued.

Cecilia couldn't help but smile. She thought he was going to say something more suggestive.

Daryl added, "If we still can't sleep, we can do something exciting."

"I knew you had nothing good to say!" Cecilia pulled her hand out of his grasp forcefully, her face turning red.

Seeing her flushed face, Daryl stopped teasing her.

Then, Daryl started the engine and drove onto the road.

As the car moved through the busy traffic, Daryl occasionally glanced at her, who was touching her flushed face.

After a while, Daryl looked ahead and said calmly, "I was serious about what I said today. Please consider it."

Cecilia thought he was joking, but hearing his serious tone, she frowned and asked, "Are you proposing?"

"Of course," Daryl nodded matter-of-factly.

"This is the first time I've seen someone propose like this. I think your success rate must be very low," Cecilia said with a smile.

Others propose with flowers and rings, but his proposal was just a casual feeling.

"This is my first time proposing, so the success rate might be 100%," Daryl said with a smile.

Cecilia couldn't help but smile.

He must know that once he asked, she would agree. Ah, he had her figured out.

"It could also be 0%, you know?" Cecilia said, pouting.

"If you don't agree, I'll have to prove my sincerity with my life," Daryl said pitifully.

Cecilia frowned and said nervously, "Don't talk about life and death. You must never say that again!"

Daryl smiled happily. "Okay, I promise."

She smiled slightly, and he held her hand again.

These days, he always held her hand while driving. She had gotten used to it, and every time he picked her up, unless there were special circumstances, he would drive himself instead of letting Douglas or the driver do it. Cecilia knew he just wanted to spend time alone with her.

"By the way, seriously, you have to go shopping with me this weekend to buy clothes for hosting. I'm so worried; I don't know what to wear," Cecilia said, troubled.

"No problem, I'll help you choose," Daryl agreed readily.

"You're so good!" she leaned her head on his shoulder for a moment, then quickly sat up straight, feeling that it wasn't safe to joke around physically with someone who was driving.

Seeing her cute and innocent look, Daryl's eyes were filled with happiness and smiles.

Then, he couldn't help but reach out and pinch her cheek!

Seeing both his hands off the steering wheel, Cecilia quickly pushed him. "Pay attention to safety, okay? I still want to spend my life with you!"

"Don't worry, I won't let you become a widow," Daryl said with a smile.

"Annoying, I haven't even said I'd marry you yet!" Cecilia reminded him.

"I'll make you agree soon," Daryl said confidently.

"Let's wait and see!" Cecilia said, raising her chin. She thought," If he says so, then she can't agree too quickly."

The two of them kept bantering sweetly all the way, like inseparable honey, always entangled with each other.

On Friday after work, Daryl brought two top hosts to pick up Cecilia.

Daryl treated them to dinner that night, inviting them to give Cecilia some training.

Cecilia had experience as a host and a journalist, so she had strong communication skills and quickly grasped the essentials.

After saying goodbye to the two top hosts, Daryl took her hand and strolled by the river.

The night by the river was chilly but very beautiful.

Under the moonlight, the river waves surged, the sound of the rolling water was endless, and their hands were tightly held together, with the moonlight casting long shadows on them.

Cecilia kept marveling at the two top hosts' communication skills and sense of humor. "These two are truly the most famous hosts in Maple Valley. They speak confidently, remain calm under pressure, and are very humorous!"
