Chapter 979 The World of the Wealthy

Upon hearing this, Isabella grinned, "Now that's more like it."

Noticing her hair was a bit messy, Leon reached out to fix it for her. His touch was so gentle it made Isabella's heart melt.

"Shall we head back?" she asked.

Leon frowned. "Head back? Isn't it nice here?"

"We need to move our clothes and stuff over, right? Plus, I wanna see what's in your safe," Isabella said, pulling out the key Leon had given her earlier from her pocket.

Leon chuckled and patted her head. "Alright, let's go. I'll help you check out my stash."

Back at Isabella's apartment, Leon stood in front of the big safe and gave her a nod. She took out the key and opened it.

The first thing she pulled out was a stack of property deeds. Seeing the thick pile, Isabella's eyes widened. "This many property deeds?"

"I've got two houses. The rest are commercial properties. There's a list with all the addresses, sizes, tenants' info, and rental prices. I don't have the time or energy to manage these. Now, it's your job," Leon explained.

Isabella was stunned. She really didn't get the world of the wealthy; it seemed like her imagination was limited by her own experiences.

For years, Isabella had dreamed of owning a house, but the rising prices in Maple Valley had far outpaced her salary. Even a small apartment cost over three hundred grand, so she had given up on buying a house there. She thought she'd save up and buy a small place in a more remote area for her later years.

But in Leon's world, owning so many properties and collecting rent was a hassle, while she had never even dared to dream of being a landlord.

Next, Isabella pulled out a folder from the safe and frowned. "What are these documents for?"

Leon smiled. "These are shares of several publicly traded companies I own, along with some stocks, trusts, and investment funds. I haven't calculated the exact amount. You'll need to manage these too."

Looking at the thick stack of documents, Isabella felt overwhelmed and complained, "I get it now. You gave me all your assets just to dump this tedious work on me. No way, I'm not doing it!"

Finally, she sat down on the bed, holding her belly.

Leon bent down, took out several boxes of various sizes from the safe, and laughed. "You've already taken the job, and there's no backing out now."

"I knew I'd fall for your trick!" Isabella covered her face with her hands in frustration.

"Take inventory of these things," Leon said, patting the boxes.

"What are all these?" Isabella asked as she opened them.

When she saw the contents, her eyes nearly popped out.

The boxes were packed with luxury watches, jade, diamonds, and other fancy stuff, making Isabella's head spin.

"These are things I picked up while traveling or at auctions. You'll need to take care of these collections too. Here are a few bank cards I use regularly. I don't remember the exact amounts in them. I use one for daily expenses, and you'll manage the rest," Leon said with a smile.

Seeing that Leon had entrusted all his assets to her, Isabella was deeply moved by his sincerity and trust.

Then, Isabella suddenly thought of something and got up to grab a box from the nightstand.

Under Leon's gaze, she opened the box and placed it in front of him.

Leon looked down and saw some diamond jewelry inside. "Aren't these the ones I gave you?"

Isabella said shyly, "Yeah, besides some gold and platinum jewelry, these valuable diamond pieces are all gifts from you. As for my savings, I haven't been working for the past six months, so I don't have much left. These should count as my premarital assets, right?"

"Of course," Leon nodded.

Then, Isabella said seriously, "Leon, why don't we see a lawyer tomorrow to sort out these properties?"

Hearing this, Leon frowned. "What do you mean?"

Isabella glanced at the property deeds, shares, and luxury items on the bed and said with some hesitation, "I know these things are the result of your hard work over the years. Although we're married, I can't just take your hard-earned assets without contributing."

Leon gazed deeply at her for a moment, then wrapped his arm around her shoulder and gently pulled her close, letting her rest her head on his chest. He murmured, "I won't separate these because I want to remind myself that if I don't treat you well, I'll lose not only the person I love but also my assets."

Hearing this, Isabella pushed Leon's chest in frustration. "What do you mean? Are you only treating me well because of the assets? Then I'll take all these things for myself. If you ever wrong me, you'll leave with nothing!"

With that, Isabella deliberately hugged all the items to her chest.

Leon, sitting across from her, laughed heartily.

From then on, Isabella had plenty to do: inventorying the shares, trusts, and investments, checking the balances of each bank card, reviewing the leases of the commercial properties, and cataloging the luxury watches, jade, and other valuable items.

These tasks kept her busy for two full days.

That night, Leon was lying on the leather bed while Isabella was still at the vanity, studying the shares, stocks, and trusts.

"Isabella, can you look at it tomorrow? It's time to sleep," Leon called out to her back.

"You go ahead, I'll study a bit more. These things are too complicated," Isabella replied without even looking up.

"Can you sleep early? We're having dinner with friends tomorrow night," Leon urged again.

Leon had already picked a date. Tomorrow night, they would have dinner with Seb, Susan, Dorothy, Maria, and a few of Leon's friends, which would count as their wedding celebration.
