Chapter 719 I'm Sorry
"Sir, this is too much!" The waiter glanced at the bills on the tray and quickly chased after him.
Seb had no time to deal with the waiter. As he briskly walked out of the restaurant, he waved his hand and said, "Keep the change."
"Thank you, sir!" Hearing that the rest was his tip, the waiter quickly bowed with joy.
Outside, it was winter. As soon as Susan ran out, the cold wind pierced through her thin sweater.
She shivered, and her tears were dried by the cold wind!
Looking up at the dazzling lights of the towering buildings around her, Susan felt a pang of sadness and a bit of self-blame. A perfectly good meal had turned into this because of her momentary emotions.
At this moment, Seb had already caught up.
Seeing Susan standing on the steps, shivering from the cold, Seb frowned and quickly stepped forward, draping his coat over her shoulders.
Feeling the weight on her shoulders, Susan looked down to see the black cashmere coat almost reaching the ground. But the coat was indeed warm, instantly blocking the biting cold wind.
Seb frowned at Susan and scolded, "Don't you know it's winter? Running out like this will make you catch a cold!"
Susan lowered her head and remained silent.
Seeing her like this, Seb's heart tightened, and he reached out to pull her into his arms.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have used those women to upset you, but I just couldn't control my emotions at that time. I know my behavior was like a madman, but I really couldn't help it because you always drive me crazy!" Seb's chin rested on Susan's head, his voice full of emotion.
In the cold December night, Seb's breath turned into steam as he spoke, and that warmth seemed to reach into Susan's heart.
Then, she looked up and frowned, saying, "Can you please put your coat back on?"
As she spoke, Susan tried to take off the coat.
But Seb grabbed her hand and commanded, "Don't be silly. You'll catch a cold if you keep this up."
The next moment, Seb took Susan's hand and walked a few steps forward. At this time, his car arrived.
However, this time it wasn't Leon who got out of the driver's seat, but another young man in a black coat.
He quickly stepped forward and opened the back door for Seb and Susan.
Seb helped Susan into the car first, then got in himself.
After the car door closed, Susan saw through the window that the driver waved to the back.
Susan turned to look behind the car and saw that there were two more cars following them, with about ten burly men in black coats, clearly bodyguards.
Susan couldn't help but frown. She thought, 'Why did he bring so many bodyguards? Does he think he's in danger?'
Indeed, with Andrew constantly causing trouble and even ruthlessly killing Rylee, Seb had to be on guard.
The car then smoothly and quickly drove onto the road.
The cabin was dimly lit, but the heater was on full blast. Soon, Susan not only stopped feeling cold but also started to sweat.
So, she took off the cashmere coat draped over her shoulders.
Seeing Susan's red nose, Seb's eyes showed a hint of guilt. He then reached out to hold her shoulder, pulling her into his arms.
Susan touched Seb's hand. His hand was still as warm as before. Men could handle a bit of cold, but women were different. A single chill could lead to a cold or fever.
His arm held her shoulder tightly, and Susan could feel his sincere apology.
The cabin was quiet, and Susan was the first to break the silence. "Why the new driver?"
Seb's usual driver and assistant had always been Leon.
"I gave Leon a vacation. He needs to spend time with his girlfriend too," Seb looked down at Susan and replied.
Hearing this, Susan couldn't help but smile. "You're quite considerate of your subordinates."
"Of course, if I'm spending time with my loved one, I can't always have him watching," Seb also smiled.
"Actually, I wanted to tell you something earlier, but you ran off before I could," Seb suddenly said.
"What is it?" Susan looked up and saw Seb's serious expression, knowing he had something important to say.
Seb then touched Susan's cheek and said, "After spending time with you today, I'll probably be busy until the end of the year. I won't have time to see you in between."
There were still twenty days until the end of the year. Susan frowned. She didn't care if he had time to spend with her; she sensed that something big was about to happen.
"Is Andrew making a move?" Susan nervously grasped Seb's hand.
Seb nodded. "He and Evergreen Ventures Group have likely reached an agreement. Evergreen Ventures Group has already started making moves."
Hearing this, Susan worriedly said, "With Evergreen Ventures Group and Andrew working together, can you handle it?"
"I have my ways of dealing with it. You just need to take care of yourself," Seb smiled, revealing his white teeth.
Susan knew Seb's capabilities and had confidence in him, but she still felt uneasy. She sensed that this time things wouldn't be as easy as Seb made them out to be. She hoped it was just her concern clouding her judgment.
"I know it's not as easy as you say. Otherwise, you wouldn't be running around with two carloads of bodyguards," Susan pouted as she spoke.
The atmosphere in the cabin suddenly became a bit tense. Seb quickly smiled and said, "One car is for you, actually."
Hearing this, Susan immediately looked up, surprised. "Why would I need bodyguards?"
At this moment, Seb placed his hands on Susan's shoulders and said very seriously, "Listen, I won't allow any harm to come to my loved ones again. You must stay safe, understand?"
Seeing his serious expression, Susan knew that he must have been terrified by what happened to Rylee.
Since that was the case, Susan nodded and said, "I'll follow your arrangements."
"That's my girl!" Seb said, patting Susan's head.
Then, Susan leaned into his embrace, her hand on his chest, feeling his strong, beating heart, which made her feel much better.
"Tell me, what exactly did Esme say to you earlier?" After a long time, Seb finally couldn't help but ask.
Looking up, Susan saw that he looked fierce, his eyes cold enough to kill.
