Chapter 904 Frenemies

"What the heck are you doing?" Isabella shoved Leon, making him stumble.

Isabella yelled, "You sleazy jerk, always trying to take advantage of women!"

"Can you chill? When did I ever take advantage of you?" Leon was totally confused by her outburst.

"You saw what you shouldn't have, and now you're denying it? Just now, you were looking again." Isabella crossed her arms, regretting her choice of a low-cut evening dress. She must've been out of her mind when she picked it.

Leon was fuming too. He had good intentions, but she made him out to be a creep.

Leon snapped back, "You were the one showing off, and now you're blaming me for looking? Get real. Do you think I wanted to look? Your figure isn't even that great, what's there to see?"

Isabella was livid, but she knew arguing more would just make her look worse.

She glared at Leon. "I'm not sinking to your level today!"

With that, Isabella stormed out of the lounge.

During the group photo with the bride and groom's friends and family, Isabella made sure to stand far away from Leon, and Leon didn't even glance her way. They didn't interact at all, both looking sour the whole time.

After the wedding, Susan asked Leon to give Isabella a ride.

Leon had no choice but to approach Isabella reluctantly. "Ready to go?"

Isabella sneered, "No need to trouble Mr. Johnson. I don't want to bring trouble on myself."

Leon couldn't help but get angry. "Do you think I'm interested in just anyone?"

He looked at Isabella with extreme disdain. Isabella, infuriated, shot back, "What do you mean by that?"

"You know exactly what I mean. A thirty-year-old woman who hasn't gotten married yet, do you think I'd take advantage of you? That's hilarious," Leon said with a sneer.

"You should worry about yourself. Aren't you also in your thirties and still single? Do you think you're that desirable?" Isabella mocked.

"We're different," Leon argued.

"Oh, really? And what makes you so special?" Isabella retorted.

"Unbelievable!" Leon said, turning to leave.

"Who are you calling unbelievable?" Isabella demanded, staring at Leon's back.

Leon ignored her and walked away.

Isabella, fuming, stomped her foot and left the hotel, only to realize she hadn't brought her purse. Without money, she couldn't call a cab. By this time, Susan and Seb had already left, so she couldn't borrow money. Not wanting to go back and ask Leon for help, she decided to walk home in her high heels.

That day, Isabella walked nearly two hours in high heels to get home.

Along the way, Isabella cursed Leon under her breath, but it still didn't make her feel any better.

When she finally got home, her feet were a mess, blisters all over her toes.

Leon, back at his place, was in a foul mood too, finding everything around him annoying.

Leon stared out the window at the white clouds, lost in memories, a small smile creeping onto his face.

Thinking back to when Isabella almost blew a fuse, she seemed like his nemesis back then. Every time they crossed paths, it was a guaranteed argument. But now, she had become his Achilles' heel, the one person who could really get to him.

Looking down at the pants he was wearing, he couldn't help but chuckle.

These were the pants Isabella had almost tossed out but didn't. After they fell for each other, Leon had bugged Isabella to give him these pants.

When he finally got them, they were a size too big. But he wanted to wear them so badly that he took them to a tailor to get them altered.

He remembered the day he showed up in front of Isabella wearing those pants. Her eyes went wide with surprise.

But she was so happy, and seeing her smile was the best thing for Leon.

The turning point in their relationship came when they tagged along with Seb and Susan on their honeymoon to Avaloria.

That trip changed everything, bringing two people who always clashed closer together.

Isabella had won a first prize in a raffle when buying appliances, which was a free trip to Euronia.

After thinking it over, she negotiated with the store to change the trip to Avaloria, agreeing to pay the difference of a few hundred bucks.

Of course, when Susan asked her, Isabella didn't disclose the change of destination or the extra cost.

Isabella wanted to go on a trip with Susan to unwind, and deep down, she even had a desire to see Leon.

Of course, she downplayed this desire, convincing herself that she didn't want to see him since he always opposed her.

When Isabella boarded the plane, she was stunned to see Leon sitting next to her.

Leon, realizing Isabella was his seatmate, was equally shocked.

Isabella knew Leon was also going to Avaloria, but she didn't expect their seats to be next to each other. She touched her hair, feeling it was too incredible.

Leon hesitated, then smirked. "Old maid, you're everywhere."

Hearing this, Isabella was momentarily stunned, not reacting immediately.

When she did, she was furious and coldly retorted, "I'm an old maid? Aren't you the same? You're an old bachelor."

"Just my luck. I can't get under your skin, but at least I can avoid you, right?" Leon said as he stood up and walked away.

Isabella didn't expect Leon to leave and frowned.

Leon downgraded himself to economy class, making the person who got upgraded very happy, but Isabella was sullen the entire trip.
