Chapter 923 Discharge

Hearing Isabella's words, Leon got really ticked off and yelled, "I took you to the hospital out of kindness, and now you're blaming me? Seriously, you're so ungrateful!"

"Ungrateful? That's rich coming from you. You're just bad luck; anyone who crosses paths with you is doomed!" Isabella shot back, not willing to back down even though her head was still spinning.

Seeing Isabella looking so weak but still wanting to argue, Leon frowned and said, "I'm super busy, I don't have time for this. Goodbye!"

With that, Leon turned and walked away.

After he left, Isabella took a moment to calm down, then leaned back on the hospital bed, rubbing her dizzy head.

As she settled down, Isabella realized it was pointless to stay mad. Leon did bring her to the hospital, and she should be grateful. But she couldn't help losing her temper earlier. Now it was too late to regret it.

Soon, night fell, and besides the pain, Isabella was also starving.

Lying on the hospital bed, she felt totally helpless. Both she and Susan were stuck in hospital beds. She was worried about Susan and now herself too. Fortunately, George would take care of Susan. However, there was no one to bring Isabella food.

As Isabella lay there, looking at the thick cast on her calf and the IV in her hand, she felt incredibly lonely and helpless.

No matter what, she still needed to eat. Only by eating well could she recover quickly. She couldn't afford to be sick.

The next moment, Isabella struggled to take out her phone from her bag, pulled up Maria's number, and was about to call her to at least bring some food and daily necessities.

Just as she was about to dial, a neatly dressed middle-aged woman walked in with a large lunchbox in her hand.

"Excuse me, are you Ms. Brown?" the middle-aged woman asked cautiously.

Isabella glanced at her and nodded. "Yeah, that's me."

Hearing that it was indeed Isabella, the middle-aged woman walked joyfully to the bedside. "Ms. Brown, I'm your caregiver. You haven't eaten yet, right? I brought you dinner."

The middle-aged woman lifted the lunchbox in her hand.

Hearing this, Isabella frowned and quickly asked, "Were you hired by the person responsible for the accident?"

Isabella couldn't think of anyone who would hire a caregiver for her, especially since not many people knew about her accident.

While setting the food on the small table by Isabella's bed, the middle-aged woman replied, "I don't know who hired me. A man prepaid me a week's salary and gave me some money to take good care of you. He were very generous; my week's salary is more than half a month's for others!"

Hearing this, Isabella thought to herself, 'It seemed I was hit by a motorcycle, and it must have been an expensive one. The rider must be wealthy.'

Fortunately, the person who hit her wasn't poor and was quite considerate. With this caregiver, she wouldn't have to worry during her hospitalization. Isabella called Susan and gently explained the situation. Susan was, of course, super worried, but Isabella reassured her that she was fine, and eventually, Susan felt relieved.

The caregiver's food was really tasty. After eating, Isabella closed her eyes, trying to endure the pain in her leg.

She kept telling herself she needed to stay strong to recover. She also prayed for her leg to heal quickly.

Isabella stayed in the hospital for five days and was finally ready to be discharged.

Knowing the caregiver couldn't handle everything alone, Isabella called Maria to help out.

The caregiver packed everything and carried the bags while Maria pushed Isabella, who was sitting in a wheelchair.

As they walked out of the hospital, Isabella suddenly spotted a familiar black luxury car parked at the entrance.

Seeing the car, Isabella's heart tightened.

That car belonged to Seb, and Leon often drove it.

But soon, Isabella dismissed the idea that Leon was there for her. Susan was also in this hospital, and maybe Seb found out about Susan's ectopic pregnancy and came to check on her.

However, the next moment, Leon stepped out of the driver's seat.

Seeing him, Isabella's heart skipped a beat.

At this moment, the caregiver walked straight to Leon, nodded, and said a few words, then waved to Maria, "Hurry up and bring Ms. Brown over!"

Hearing this, Isabella frowned and looked up at Leon, who was opening the trunk.

Seeing Leon there to pick her up, Isabella was a bit confused.

Maria then said to Isabella, "Isabella, why is Mr. Johnson here?"

"How would I know?" Isabella replied.

Her eyes were fixed on Leon, who was putting things in the trunk, and seeing how familiar he was with the caregiver, a question popped into her mind. 'Could it be that Leon hired the caregiver? No way, would he be that kind?'

Unknowingly, Maria had already pushed Isabella to the car.

Leon had already opened the back door of the car.

Maria stepped forward and greeted, "Mr. Johnson, are you here to pick up Isabella?"

Leon nodded without saying a word.

At this moment, Maria walked to Isabella and said, "Isabella, let me help you get in the car."

But Leon turned around, got ahead of Maria, walked to the wheelchair, and bent down to lift Isabella horizontally from the wheelchair.

Leon's sudden action not only made Maria's jaw drop but also left Isabella stunned.

Isabella was stunned for a second, then immediately shouted, "Leon, what are you doing?"

Leon looked down at Isabella in his arms, his face dark, and said, "Just shut up!"

Leon was very domineering at this moment. Isabella glanced around and saw Maria and the caregiver staring at them.

Isabella knew that shouting now would only make a scene and attract attention, so she had to endure it for the moment, but her face turned pale with anger.
