Chapter 544 Chaos Ensues
The elevator arrived at the 22nd floor. Carol was the first to step out, followed by the others.
Carol looked up at Andrew and asked, "Andrew, which room is it?"
"2201, this way!" Andrew turned and easily found room 2201, taking out the room card from his pocket.
Standing behind Carol, Seb, Susan, and Rylee all frowned, not knowing what Carol and Andrew were up to.
"Mom, what's in room 2201? Why are we here?" Rylee asked, puzzled.
Carol sneered and said, "You'll find out soon enough."
Then Carol turned to Andrew and instructed, "Open the door!"
"Yes." Andrew responded and used the room card to open the door.
As the door opened, Carol was the first to step inside.
Andrew followed, and Seb, Susan, and Rylee walked in with confusion.
The curtains were drawn, making the room dimly lit. On the bed, two figures were curled up under the covers.
"Who's there? How did you get in here?" A male voice immediately sounded from inside the room.
The voice was very familiar, and Susan couldn't help but frown because it was Todd's voice.
The next moment, Susan looked towards the bed and saw Todd's body covered by the blanket, with only his head exposed. There seemed to be another person curled up in Todd's arms. The entire room was filled with the scent of their lovemaking.
Susan looked down and saw clothes scattered on the gray carpet, both men's and women's.
Carol walked to the window and forcefully pulled open the curtains.
Bright sunlight flooded the room, revealing everything clearly.
Carol then walked to the bed, pointing at Todd and angrily scolding, "Todd, I was wondering why you were so insistent on this divorce. It seems you already have someone waiting in the wings. And at your age, too! Shame on you. Don't you think your children deserve to see this?"
With that, Carol stepped forward to pull off the blanket.
Todd's face turned grim, and he immediately wrapped himself in the blanket, shouting, "Carol, don't go too far!"
"Don't you dare tell me what to do!" Carol shrieked. "You're the one who decided to have a torrid affair! You're the one who should be ashamed!"
At this moment, Susan's sharp eyes noticed a gray sweater on the floor, the one she had bought for Catherine a few days ago. How did it end up here?
They were caught red-handed by Carol. What should they do now? Susan felt dizzy, as if she was about to collapse.
Seb quickly supported Susan.
Susan looked up and saw Seb's face, dark with anger, his brows tightly furrowed.
Seeing his expression, Susan knew he was also furious. She felt a wave of panic, not knowing what to do.
At this moment, everyone seemed to understand that Carol had orchestrated a scene to catch them in the act.
"Dad, how could you do this? Are you still our father?" Rylee was the first to cry out.
Todd said to Carol, "Carol, take them away now!"
Seeing Todd's panic, Carol sneered and said, "What? Now you're embarrassed? Scared? Who told you to do such shameless things?"
"I'm not embarrassed. I'm determined to get a divorce. If you leave now, I'll agree to any divorce terms!" Todd's eyes showed a hint of panic and helplessness for the first time.
Carol glanced at the woman hiding in Todd's arms, her face covered by the blanket, and sneered. "Coming to a hotel room to sleep with another person's husband is already shameless. Why cover your face now?"
With that, Carol grabbed the woman's hair and pulled her out of Todd's arms.
"Ah!" Catherine quickly covered her face with her hands. She was completely naked and utterly humiliated.
Even though Catherine covered her face, everyone recognized her.
"Mom?" Seb was shocked and frowned deeply when he saw Catherine.
Rylee was also stunned. "Why is it Susan's mom?"
Seeing Catherine, Susan's legs went weak, and she had to support herself against the wall because Seb's arm had moved away from her.
Susan never imagined this day would come. Although she knew Carol would find out eventually, she never thought it would be in such a dramatic way.
At this moment, Susan was at a loss, feeling deeply ashamed.
Carol, feeling triumphant, grabbed Catherine's hair and said, "Seb, Rylee, did you see clearly? Seb, this is your mother-in-law. Her daughter seduced you, and now she's seducing your dad. What are they trying to do? Take over the Anderson family? This is the most shameless thing I've ever seen!"
With that, Carol angrily slapped Catherine several times, causing her face to swell instantly.
Seeing Catherine being hit, Todd pushed Carol away and pulled Catherine into his arms.
Carol stumbled and almost fell against the wall, but Andrew quickly stepped forward to support her.
"Carol, enough. You've hit and scolded her. Isn't that enough? Leave now," Todd's face was dark with anger. Catherine, in his arms, was crying, her face full of shame.
"You dare push me for this bitch? Enough? I'll never have enough! Watch me beat this bitch to death!" Carol shouted and moved to hit Catherine again.
This time, Todd protected Catherine tightly, and Carol's punches and slaps landed on him instead.
Seeing Todd protect Catherine so fiercely, Carol became even angrier. She hit them both while screaming, "Rylee, come help me beat this bitch to death!"
Hearing Carol's shout, Rylee snapped out of it and rushed to the bed, joining Carol in hitting Catherine.
