Chapter 682 Infuriate
Looking up and seeing Seb, Susan couldn't help but be startled!
Seb fixed his gaze on Susan. She was still wearing the clothes he had bought for her. These past few days, Susan hadn't had time to go back and change, nor did she bother to have someone bring her clothes, so she just made do. Fortunately, the weather was quite cold now; if it were summer, the clothes would definitely have started to smell.
Seeing Susan meet his gaze, Seb said disdainfully, "I really don't know what kind of woman you are, wearing the same clothes for a whole week."
Hearing his sarcastic tone, Susan retorted, "Even if I don't change clothes for a month, it's none of your business, right?"
"You're right, it's not," Seb said, his expression hardening. "But I would hope you'd have enough decency not to expose my children to whatever germs you're carrying."
Upon hearing this, Susan felt a surge of anger but remained calm on the surface. "My son and daughter don't find me as disgusting as you do."
Just as Seb was about to speak, Susan continued, "I've already transferred the money for the clothes to your bank account according to the price on the tag. Check it when you have time!"
Hearing this, Seb frowned, his face looking even worse. After a moment, he sneered, "You overpaid."
"What?" Susan asked, puzzled.
"I'm a VIP member of this brand, and the store gives me a 10% discount, so you overpaid. Esme loves this brand, and it looks good on you too! I spend tens of thousands of dollars on clothes for Esme; money is not an issue for me, so you don't need to take it too seriously," Seb said with a smirk, clearly trying to provoke Susan.
The casual mention of Esme, the reminder of his extravagant spending on another woman, sent a fresh wave of pain through Susan. But she refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her crumble."Well, I'm not Esme," she said, forcing a bright smile. "And while I appreciate the gesture, I'm not really one for expensive labels. But I do believe in paying my debts. Consider the extra money a tip. I may not be rich, but I earn my own way." She met his gaze directly, her own unwavering.
After saying this, Susan gave Seb a fierce glare.
Seb's face turned livid after hearing Susan's words.
Seeing Seb's expression, Susan knew she had successfully angered him.
She didn't want to stay any longer, so she turned to leave. "Mary took Spring to get her temperature checked. I'll go see."
But Seb reached out to block Susan's way!
Seeing him block her, Susan frowned and asked, "What are you doing?"
The next moment, Seb said, "The doctor said Spring has almost recovered and doesn't need IV fluids anymore. I've already completed the discharge procedures. Once Mary returns, I'll take Spring home!"
Hearing this, Susan was stunned on the spot!
Because Spring being discharged meant she could no longer stay with her; Spring was going home.
At that moment, Susan's heart was in turmoil.
For the past week, she had been with Spring every moment. The thought of Spring going home tore her apart.
Then, Susan quickly said, "Spring still has a bit of a cough. Maybe she should stay another day or two? Just to be safe?"
Susan looked at Seb with hopeful eyes, hoping he would agree.
However, Seb intended to use Spring to threaten her, so how could he easily agree?
Seb then firmly said, "The doctor said Spring just needs to take her medicine on time at home; there's no need to stay in the hospital. So you should go about your business. You've taken care of Spring for a week; you should rest."
Susan knew that Seb's decisions were unchangeable. Spring's discharge was a done deal, so she didn't argue further, knowing it would be futile.
The next moment, Susan took her purse, pulled out a key, and handed it to Seb.
Seeing the key in Susan's hand, Seb frowned in confusion.
Susan then explained, "This is the key to my house."
Hearing this, Seb curiously asked, "What do you mean by this?"
"I want to see Hayden and Spring every week. Meeting elsewhere might be inconvenient, so..." Susan hesitated, carefully choosing her words. In fact, she had been mulling over these words for two days, but still found awkward to say.
Seb, being a smart man, immediately understood Susan's meaning. He took the key from Susan's hand and asked, "Does Andrew also have a key to your house?"
Hearing this, Susan's face darkened, but she wouldn't back down. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you two don't run into each other."
"Shameless!" Seb cursed immediately.
Susan sneered, "We're about the same; neither of us is more noble than the other."
"Susan, if you keep pushing me, I might lose interest in you, and you'll never see Hayden and Spring again?" Seb's face was already very grim.
Susan was momentarily stunned, feeling a bit flustered, but she maintained her composure. "I'm their mother; you have no right to keep me from seeing them forever. I just don't want the hassle of a lawsuit, but that doesn't mean I won't fight."
"Right, how could I forget? You have a devoted lawyer who would do anything for you if you asked!" Seb said sarcastically.
Susan smiled and said, "At least my relationship with George isn't based on money, which is fundamentally different from your relationship with Esme!"
"Looks like you've been living too comfortably lately," Seb's eyes flashed with anger.
Susan wasn't afraid; she had seen him angry before.
The next moment, Susan picked up her coat and purse and said, "You take Spring home. I have things to do, so I'm leaving."
With that, Susan quickly left the ward.
"Talking about how important Spring is, yet you won't even wait for her to get her temperature checked. Such hypocrisy!" Seb mocked as he watched Susan's back.
Hearing Seb's words behind her, Susan's back stiffened, but she didn't stop. Instead, she quickened her pace and left.
