Chapter 597 What Do You Want to Do

Susan let out a cold laugh and said, "Do you think I don't know? You've been stirring up trouble within the Anderson family to benefit yourself. I'm warning you, you'd better behave, or you'll lose everything you have now!"

"You're crazy. I don't know what you're talking about," Andrew said, then turned to chase after Rylee.

The argument ended, and the onlookers dispersed. Susan sighed in relief and walked away with her shopping bags.

Andrew caught up with Rylee and smiled, saying, "Why are you walking so fast? You didn't even wait for me."

Rylee suddenly glared at him and said, "Why didn't you stand up for me against Susan just now? You let her get away with it."

Andrew's eyes flickered, then he gently said, "Rylee, Seb has already divorced that woman. She's gotten her comeuppance. Why bother with her? She's not worth your anger."

"I feel like you look at Susan in a strange way. You and she..." Rylee squinted at Andrew.

Andrew got nervous at this but quickly smiled. "Rylee, what could I possibly have with Susan? I only look at her that way because she's... something else. Think about it, Seb, who was usually alienated from women, was willing to give up everything for her. If it weren't for Mom's last words, he wouldn't have divorced her."

Rylee sneered and said, "Good thing Mom left those words before she died, or the Anderson family would have been ruined by that woman!"

"Yes, Mom was wise," Andrew quickly agreed.

After work that day, Susan called Kathy and found out that Seb had a social event and wouldn't be home for dinner. She quickly took the opportunity to go to the villa and deliver the clothes and shoes she had bought for the kids.

Although she missed them and wanted to spend more time with them, Susan was afraid Seb might come home early, so she didn't stay long and soon left the villa.

As night fell, Susan walked into her rented apartment complex.

Suddenly, a shadow darted out.

Startled, Susan took two steps back and warily asked, "Who is it?"

"It's me," a figure stepped forward, just a step away from Susan.

Under the dim streetlight, Susan saw the person's face and frowned.

"Did you come here specifically to find me?" Susan hesitated, then coldly stared at the person in front of her.

Andrew stepped forward flirtatiously, trying to touch Susan's shoulder, but she dodged, not wanting to touch him at all.

Seeing this, Andrew laughed. "We were once a couple. No need to be so cold."

"We broke up long ago. Don't forget you have a wife now, and you'll need her family's support in the future," Susan mocked Andrew.

This clearly displeased Andrew. He put his hands in his pockets, his expression complicated.

"Spit it out. What do you want?" Susan glanced at him.

Andrew looked up at the nearby high-rise and said, "We're old acquaintances. Isn't it reasonable to invite me up for a cup of coffee?"

"I don't invite married men up," Susan firmly refused.

"Didn't expect you to have more principles than your mother," Andrew sneered.

"Andrew, don't bring my mother into this. Get lost! I don't want to see you!" Susan was furious at Andrew's insult to Catherine and turned to leave.

Andrew quickly blocked her way and tried to persuade her, "Alright, alright, I was out of line. I'm not here to cause trouble. I have something to discuss with you."

Susan rolled her eyes at him. "There's nothing for us to discuss."

"Can we go upstairs to talk?" Andrew pleaded.

"Say it here, or don't say it at all," Susan insisted.

She wasn't foolish enough to let Andrew upstairs. He was a man, and she was just a woman. If anything happened, she wouldn't be able to explain it.

Andrew finally said, "Fine, fine, I'll say it here. Seb was really heartless to divorce you after you gave him two beautiful children."

"Get to the point!" Susan coldly stared at Andrew.

Andrew nodded. "I heard Seb only gave you a few properties as compensation. That's too stingy. His assets are worth billions. Are you really okay with getting such a small share after all these years?"

"What else can I do?" Susan probed, trying to figure out what Andrew wanted.

"You can work with me," Andrew replied.

"How?" Susan frowned.

Andrew leaned in and whispered, "I know Seb still likes you even though you're divorced. I need you to go abroad and pretend to be sick. Call Seb and ask him to come. He'll definitely go. Once he's away from Prosperity Group, I'll have a chance to take over. If I gain absolute control, I'll give you $20 million. How about it? With $20 million, you won't have to worry about your future or run that small accounting firm. The properties Seb gave you are only worth a few million, right?"

Upon hearing this, Susan stared at Andrew and sneered. "As far as I know, you already have control over Rylee's shares. You have more shares than Seb. What? Even as the largest shareholder, you still can't move Seb?"

Actually, Susan was pleased. If Andrew was coming to her, it meant he was out of options. Seb must be suspicious of him. As long as Seb was around, Andrew had no chance at Prosperity Group.

Susan had been worried about this, but now she felt reassured. Seb was a seasoned businessman. No matter how cunning Andrew was, he couldn't outsmart Seb. Besides, Seb had cultivated many loyal people at Prosperity Group over the years. It wasn't easy for Andrew to seize power.

Andrew grabbed Susan's shoulder and smiled. "If you help me this time, besides the $20 million, and who knows, maybe we can even rekindle what we had."
