Chapter 1085 Making Love

Back at the villa, Cecilia finally breathed a sigh of relief after taking the emergency contraceptive pill.

She had been too careless. If she got pregnant, Cecilia really wouldn't know what to do.

Once Cecilia's hand healed, she started making dinner.

Of course, Daryl would come back for meals from time to time.

Every evening after dinner, Daryl would work in his study for a few hours.

He wouldn't return to his room until after ten at night, and of course, he went back to his master bedroom, not Cecilia's guest room.

For several days, Daryl had no needs and was quite distant from Cecilia.

While Cecilia enjoyed her freedom, she also felt a small twinge of disappointment.

When Cecilia was flipping through books, she occasionally read that men Daryl's age often had strong desires, sometimes even several times a day.

'Maybe I'm not attractive enough to catch his special attention, or perhaps he has another woman outside?' Thinking of this, Cecilia's heart ached.

She clutched her chest and told herself, "Ever since you told Daryl you wanted to break up, you two have been from different worlds. Now that you're together, it's for the money, and he's just maintaining his pride. You don't need to be sad because sadness will only add to your sorrow. When the contract ends, you'll go your separate ways and disappear from each other's lives forever!"

Despite saying this, Cecilia still couldn't control her sadness and grief.

Daryl was the only man she had ever loved in her life, and he got her first sex. The mark he left on her would probably never fade, but in a few years, it would just be a memory.

That night, Cecilia sat on the bed, flipping through her copy of "One Hundred Years of Solitude."

She was engrossed in the book when there was a knock on the door.

Hearing the knock, Cecilia felt a bit nervous.

Because in this house, besides herself, there was only Daryl.

She didn't know why he was knocking so late.

They usually slept in their own rooms, and he never disturbed her.

With urgent questions and inexplicable fear, Cecilia called out, "Come in!"

The next moment, the door opened.

Cecilia looked up and saw Daryl, dressed in gray patterned pajamas, walking in with a book in his hand.

Before Cecilia could say anything, Daryl walked straight to the bed, sat on the edge, took off his slippers, and climbed into bed.

Seeing this, Cecilia frowned and asked, "What are you doing?"

Facing Cecilia's bewildered expression, Daryl remained calm, even looking as if it was the most natural thing in the world. "Sleeping."

Hearing this, Cecilia became nervous and started to stammer, "Why are you here? Your room is next door!"

For a moment, Cecilia was in a panic.

She knew she was conflicted. She really wanted to see him, but hearing him say he wanted to sleep with her made her very nervous.

At this point, Daryl looked out the window and said, "It's raining outside, and there might be lightning and thunder. If you get scared and come to disturb me, it will definitely affect my sleep. So, I might as well sleep here."

Hearing this, Cecilia glanced out the window and, sure enough, it was raining. She must have been so engrossed in her book that she didn't notice the wind and rain outside.

At this point, Cecilia quickly refused. "Thank you for your kindness, but the wind and rain outside aren't that bad today. I won't be scared, so why don't you just..."

Just as she was saying this, a flash of lightning suddenly lit up the sky outside.

Two seconds later, a deafening thunderclap followed.

Cecilia looked helplessly in the direction of the window, thinking the thunder and lightning came at a worse time.

Seeing Cecilia's helpless expression, Daryl smiled slightly. He then opened his copy of "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and started reading.

Cecilia snapped out of it, looked at the book in Daryl's hand, then at her own book, and moved a bit towards the edge of the bed before lowering her head to read her own book.

For a while, the room was silent, except for the occasional sound of pages turning.

The wind and rain outside were heavy. Although Cecilia's eyes were on the book, her mind was elsewhere.

With another person in the room, she felt very uneasy, as if there was always a pair of eyes watching her.

Cecilia complained in her heart about the weather outside. 'What season is this? Why is there so much thunder and rain in Northstar City?'

At this point, she heard the sound of a pen writing. Cecilia turned her head and saw Daryl writing in the blank spaces of his book.

She was a fan of "One Hundred Years of Solitude," so she craned her neck to see what he was writing.

Daryl continued writing, and Cecilia became more and more interested.

After watching for a while, Cecilia shared her thoughts on the passage Daryl was annotating.

Then, Daryl and Cecilia started discussing the fates of many characters in it.

They talked for hours, and Cecilia forgot about the thunder and lightning outside.

Cecilia found that Daryl's insights into the book were even deeper than Barry's. Sometimes she listened with her chin in her hand, sometimes she discussed with him, until she started yawning and her eyes couldn't stay open.

After turning off the lights, just as Cecilia was about to fall asleep, she felt a strong arm wrap around her waist.

What happened next was predictable, but everything felt so natural and smooth.

Before long, Cecilia's body went from tense to relaxed.

Of course, in the middle, Cecilia made an excuse to go to the bathroom, where she took the contraceptive pills she had hidden in the bathroom cabinet.

From that day on, every night after taking a shower, Daryl would naturally bring his copy of the book to Cecilia's room, under the pretense of discussing the characters and plot with her. But as they discussed, it would always end up with them making love.

And Daryl seemed to be tireless when it came to making love, sometimes doing it several times a night.
