Chapter 1139 Fainting
Hearing Barry's confidence in her, Cecilia felt deeply moved. Barry had given her emotional comfort, and she felt much better.
They stood in front of the hospital entrance, talking for a long time. In the end, they both concluded that Arabella was the most likely suspect for switching the gifts.
"But why would Arabella do that? It doesn't benefit her at all," Barry questioned, looking down.
Hearing this, Cecilia said, "Arabella usually gets along well with Calista."
Calista had never liked her, and after knowing Barry was enthusiastic about her, she became even more hostile. Cecilia thought, 'Could it be that Calista is afraid I will take Barry away, so she instructs Arabella to do this?'
For a moment, Cecilia looked at Barry thoughtfully but didn't voice her thoughts.
Meeting Cecilia's eyes, Barry immediately understood what she meant. "I get it now. It must have been Calista who instructed Arabella."
Cecilia said, "If it really was Calista, she's risking her job and dragging so many people down with her."
"Don't worry, I'll find a way to gather evidence and clear your name!" Barry promised confidently.
Hearing this, Cecilia was very touched but didn't know what to say, "Barry, thank you!"
"We're friends, after all. Besides, Vogue Vista is my mother's life's work. I can't let it be ruined. Alright, I have to go now. Take care of yourself these days, stay happy, and don't overthink!" Barry advised Cecilia.
Hearing this, Cecilia nodded heavily.
Cecilia watched Barry leave, feeling much better.
At that moment, a tall man in a black suit got out of a black luxury car parked by the street and walked quickly towards Cecilia with a grim expression.
Cecilia suddenly felt a chill, as if a cold light was approaching.
The next moment, Cecilia looked up and saw Daryl walking towards her, making her heart tighten.
In an instant, Daryl was in front of Cecilia, questioning her, "I really underestimated you. You're still in touch with Barry, and you two can even meet up in Maple Valley!"
Hearing Daryl's sarcastic words, Cecilia frowned. "Daryl, don't talk nonsense!"
After saying that, Cecilia turned to leave, not wanting to say another word to Daryl.
Cecilia's attitude immediately made the already angry Daryl even more furious. He stepped forward and grabbed Cecilia's arm.
"Daryl, what do you want? Don't forget, we have nothing to do with each other anymore. Let go of me! I warn you, your fiancée is still in the hospital, and her family might see you harassing me. You won't be able to explain yourself then!" Cecilia struggled, but it was futile, so she threatened Daryl.
However, Daryl wasn't one to be scared of threats. Not only did he not let go, but he also grabbed Cecilia's shoulders with both hands and pushed her into a corner.
"Don't try to threaten me. Do you think I care? Tell me, have you been in touch with Barry all along? Why is he in Maple Valley?" Daryl asked with a sinister look in his eyes.
Just now, Daryl had seen Cecilia and Barry together from the car, talking for a long time, and it had driven him mad.
He didn't know why, but he thought he had moved on. However, seeing Cecilia with another man, especially Barry, he couldn't control himself.
Cecilia, unable to break free, shouted at Daryl, "Can you be rational? Barry and I just ran into each other."
"Maple Valley is so big. What are the chances of you two running into each other? You're lying to a three-year-old," Daryl said through gritted teeth.
"Because Barry's mother is Seraphine, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Vista. We met at the magazine office," Cecilia said loudly, feeling her shoulders were about to be crushed.
Hearing this, Daryl became even more furious. "I wondered how you found a job so quickly. So Barry is Seraphine's son, and he got his mom to give you a job?"
"You're being unreasonable!" Cecilia felt that Daryl's emotions were out of control, and she didn't want to argue with a madman, so she tried to push him away with all her strength.
But Daryl wouldn't let go of her shoulders.
For a moment, the two were at a standoff.
At this point, Cecilia suddenly felt dizzy.
Next, she withdrew her hands from pushing Daryl and held her head, feeling unsteady.
Seeing Cecilia's sudden condition, Daryl frowned and immediately loosened his grip, urgently asking, "Cecilia, what's wrong?"
"I..." Cecilia struggled to speak, then her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed.
"Cecilia!" Daryl shouted, catching her in his arms.
Seeing Cecilia faint, Daryl immediately bent down and carried her.
At this moment, the driver, noticing something was wrong, rushed over. "Mr. Fields, did Ms. Thorne faint?"
"Get to the emergency room, now!" Daryl shouted, carrying Cecilia into the hospital.
Cecilia felt like she had been asleep for a long time. Struggling to open her eyes, she saw a sea of white.
White walls, white furniture, white sheets, and a white IV drip. She was receiving an intravenous infusion.
"You're awake?" A familiar male voice sounded in her ear.
Cecilia turned her head and saw a familiar, joyful face sitting by her bedside.
Seeing Daryl, to be honest, Cecilia wasn't happy.
"What happened to me? Is this a hospital?" Cecilia felt her mind was blank, and her body was weak.
"You ask me what happened? Don't you know your own physical condition?" Daryl's sharp eyes stared at Cecilia, as if trying to see through her.
Hearing this, Cecilia finally came to her senses.
After a while, Cecilia tried hard to recall the scene before she fainted.
She remembered having a physical confrontation with Daryl, and then she embarrassingly fainted.
At this moment, Daryl's eyes were fixed on her, as if trying to see through her.
'Did he already know something?' Thinking of this, Cecilia felt very guilty and wanted to touch her abdomen but didn't dare to.
