Chapter 880 Uncontrollable Feelings

Seeing Hayden making faces, Susan couldn't help but frown.

But Seb jumped in, "Hayden, you're such a troublemaker! How dare you make fun of us?"

Hayden quickly grabbed Spring's hand, pulled a goofy face, and said, "You guys go ahead and get all lovey-dovey. I'll take Spring to check out some toys!"

Seb took off after Hayden, pretending he was gonna get him good.

So Hayden grabbed Spring and bolted.

Once they were gone, Seb shut the door.

He turned around to see Susan standing by the bed and walked over with a look of deep affection.

Susan gave a shy smile under his gaze.

Seb stepped closer, wrapped his arms around her waist, and whispered, "Did you hear what Hayden said? Let's continue."

Susan pushed against his chest, "Stop it. Hayden was just teasing you, and you took it seriously?"

"I think Hayden gets me. He wasn't teasing. Don't you want to continue?" Seb asked, staring into her eyes.

"I don't want to," Susan said, blushing and looking down stubbornly.

Seeing her blush, Seb whispered in her ear with a grin, "Do you remember when you did everything to get my attention back in Maple Valley? Why won't you admit it now? It's not good to be dishonest."

"I just wanted you to remember me back then," Susan argued.

Seb held her waist tighter, whispering sweetly in her ear, "Even though I couldn't remember our time together, you still drew me in. I almost fell for you. If it weren't for Ellie, I would've thrown caution to the wind!"

Susan looked at Seb in surprise, hearing his heartfelt words.

There was a time when he forgot about her, and she felt utterly hopeless and inferior, thinking that someone as admired as him would never fall in love with her again. Maybe his love for her back then was just a fluke.

"Are you serious? You could fall in love with me again?" Susan reached out, touching Seb's handsome and mature face, and asked softly.

Seeing her surprise, Seb smiled and held her hand against his face, "I've already fallen in love with you again!"

Susan's face lit up with joy, "I thought you wouldn't fall for me again. You must be sweet-talking me. I don't want to hear your lies, even though they're so sweet I can't resist."

"You seem to have no confidence in yourself," Seb teased.

"It's not that I lack confidence, but you're too dazzling, and I'm too ordinary. There are so many glamorous women around you, and I feel like I'm getting old," Susan said sadly, touching her face.

She was already thirty-three. Although she maintained herself well, there were still some traces of time on her face. During the days he forgot about her, she felt really anxious, thinking she could no longer attract him.

Seeing Susan's sad expression, Seb's heart melted. He pulled her into his arms and whispered, "I swear on my life, I'm telling the truth. You're one of a kind. Everything about you has always drawn me in. You say you're getting old, well, so am I. Eight years have passed. Time leaves its marks, but it also gives us our best memories. Anyway, you're perfect for me. We'll grow old together, and every stage of life has its own charm. We'll go through it all together. Don't you think?"

Seb looked down at Susan, his eyes full of sincerity.

Susan was deeply moved, her eyes welling up. She lowered her head and wiped away her tears.

Seeing her like this, Seb teased with a grin, "Really? You're already crying? I haven't even gotten to the good part yet!"

"You're so annoying, making fun of me!" Susan said, smiling through her tears and playfully hitting Seb.

Seb gazed at her and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

Feeling his tenderness, Susan looked up and asked, "Why did you swear on my life?"

Seb answered seriously, "If I don't keep my word, I will die..."

Before he could finish, Susan quickly covered his mouth, "What nonsense are you talking about? If you die, what will I do?"

Seeing her worried look, Seb pulled her hand down and kissed the back of it.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm embarrassed!" Susan said, then buried herself in Seb's embrace.

She nestled her face in his neck, closed her eyes, and felt completely surrounded by his comforting scent.

Not long after, Susan felt a warmth on her cheek.

In an instant, her body softened, and she leaned completely against his warm body.

After a while, the room finally calmed down, though their breathing was still heavy.

The sunset cast its last orange-red glow through the window.

On the bed, they cuddled together under the blanket.

Lying in Seb's arms, Susan enjoyed the happy moment but had a lingering doubt. 'He was with Ellie for months. They must have been intimate, right?'

Although Susan felt a bit uncomfortable, she didn't show it because she knew she couldn't blame him for any of it.

She cherished this hard-won happiness and didn't want to ruin the moment or make Seb feel guilty. So she decided to bury this doubt deep in her heart and never think about it again.

Life was long, but she would be by his side through it all.
