Chapter 583 Panic
At this moment, Andrew quietly stepped out of the bedroom and eavesdropped on their argument from the corner, hoping to find an opportunity to control the situation. He couldn't let Carol know that he had already met with Susan; otherwise, with Carol's temper, she would never forgive him.
Annoyed by Carol's pestering, Susan said, "You know exactly what you planned. Why make me say it?"
Carol pointed at Susan with narrowed eyes and said, "Andrew is deceiving me. You two have been in cahoots all along. One married my son, and the other married my daughter. You're both after our family's wealth. How could I be so stupid to believe Andrew? You have no limits, Susan. For money, you can be with any man. It's beyond my imagination. There's nothing you wouldn't do!"
Susan, feeling agitated by Carol's accusations, retorted, "Why do you always think the worst of people?"
"Because you're not a good person at all. You're just a cheap woman. I've never seen anyone as despicable as you!" Carol cursed.
Unable to bear the humiliation, Susan turned away, covering her face, feeling extremely helpless. Why? Why was fate playing such a cruel joke on her, putting her in this situation?
Seeing Susan turn her back, Carol stepped forward to grab Susan's arm, still cursing, "What? Feeling too ashamed to face me? Come on, let's go find Seb. I want to expose you in front of him!"
At this moment, Susan was completely unprepared. If Seb suddenly found out about her past relationship with Andrew, it would definitely cause misunderstandings.
Therefore, Susan was very resistant. She shook off Carol's hand, took a step forward, and, with her back to Carol, held her throbbing head, feeling utterly helpless.
Perhaps Susan's shake was too forceful, causing Carol to stagger and nearly fall down the stairs. She immediately reached out to grab the railing.
At this moment, Andrew, hiding around the corner, saw the situation and quickly pushed Carol hard on the back. Carol let out a scream and fell down the stairs.
Andrew swiftly retreated to the corner. Susan, hearing the scream, turned around to see Carol lying at the bottom of the stairs, her head covered in blood.
Seb and Rylee, each holding a child and laughing, were suddenly shocked by the scene.
"Mom!" Seb reacted quickly, putting Hayden down and rushing to hold the barely conscious Carol.
"Mom, what happened? How did you fall?" Rylee and the servants also rushed over.
"I..." Carol, pale-faced, couldn't speak.
Seb quickly turned to Rylee and shouted, "Get the car ready to take Mom to the hospital!"
"Andrew, Andrew!" Rylee called out.
By this time, Susan had slowly descended the stairs, feeling extremely panicked.
What was going on? How did Carol fall down the stairs?
Seeing Susan, Seb urgently asked, "What were you doing upstairs? How did Mom fall?"
"I..." Susan couldn't answer immediately, as she was also confused.
The next moment, Seb had already picked Carol up.
At this moment, Carol, seeing Susan, mustered her last bit of strength, pointed at Susan, and said, "It was her. She pushed me down the stairs!"
Hearing this, Susan's eyes widened in shock.
"Mom." Seb frowned upon hearing this.
Rylee, hearing this, immediately lunged at Susan, hitting her and questioning, "You wicked woman, why did you push my mom down? Don't you know this could kill her?"
Seb coldly glanced at Susan, who stood there unable to defend herself, then turned and shouted, "Rylee, let's take Mom to the hospital first!"
"Coming!" Rylee, not daring to delay, pushed Susan hard and then followed Seb.
The next moment, Andrew, while putting on his clothes, ran down the stairs.
Andrew glanced at Susan and sneered. "What now? Got yourself into trouble? I told you to listen to me, but you just wouldn't."
"Andrew, stop gloating!" Susan shouted, agitated.
Seeing Susan on the verge of a breakdown, Andrew reached out to pat her shoulder, but Susan pushed him away in disgust.
Andrew touched his nose and said, "Susan, I think Carol is in bad shape this time. You probably won't be able to stay in the Anderson family anymore. But it's okay, if you're willing, I can take care of you."
"You're delusional!" Susan glared at Andrew and quickly walked away.
Andrew sneered and then followed her out of the villa.
Soon, the ambulance arrived.
Seb and Rylee got into the ambulance, and Andrew followed. Seeing this, Susan also wanted to get in.
Rylee blocked her path. "Where do you think you're going? You want to finish the job?"
"I..." Susan looked at Seb.
Seb, his eyes fixed on Carol, holding her hands, didn't even glance at Susan outside the ambulance. He coldly said, "Stop arguing and get Mom to the hospital!"
Hearing this, Rylee closed the ambulance door.
A few seconds later, the ambulance sped away, leaving Susan in the deep, terrifying night.
Her mind was a whirlwind of confusion and fear. How had everything spiraled so far out of control?
The next moment, she quickly hailed a taxi to the nearest hospital.
Susan ran into the hospital's emergency center.
The emergency room door was open, and Susan could hear faint crying from inside.
Seeing a doctor in a white coat coming out, she immediately grabbed his arm and asked, "Doctor, how is the patient who fell?"
The doctor shook his head gravely and replied, "Brainstem hemorrhage. She's not going to make it. She...she's saying goodbye to her children now."
"What?" Susan was stunned.
The doctor walked away dejectedly.
Susan almost collapsed to the ground.
How could this be? A fall, and now a brainstem hemorrhage, and Carol was not going to make it?
