Chapter 206 Don't Be Too Smug

George went to the hospital to get medicine for Susan.

The next few days, Susan rested in bed.

Every day, she stared at the ceiling, trying not to think about Seb, needing to stay calm for the baby.

Susan stayed in bed for two weeks.

During that time, Serenity stayed at George's place, making soup and ensuring Susan took her meds. George brought fresh fruit and flowers to cheer her up.

Susan was grateful to George but didn't know how to repay him, so she kept it in her heart, hoping to return the favor someday.

A month later, George took Susan for a prenatal checkup.

Holding her test results, Susan walked out of the hospital with George, chatting and laughing.

"George, all my tests are normal! The doctor said I've passed the most unstable three months. The baby is healthy, and I can even do some light activities!" Susan said excitedly.

"I told you the baby would be fine," George grinned.

"It's all because of you," Susan said sincerely.

George blushed a bit and rubbed his nose. "Maybe you shouldn't call me Mr. Anderson anymore?"

"Oh?" Susan was surprised.

"Yeah, I hear it all day at work. When I get home, I want to relax. When you call me Mr. Anderson, it feels like I'm still in court," George said with a smile.

Susan chuckled. "Alright."

George frowned slightly. "Why don't you call me George? We're friends now, right?"

Susan thought for a moment. 'Calling him Mr. Anderson does seem too formal.'

So, she looked up and said, "George."

Hearing her, George was overjoyed, almost dancing with delight.

Just then, two people walked up behind them. Susan frowned when she saw them.

"George, what are you doing here?" Ethan greeted warmly.

George turned to see Ethan and Amelia holding hands, looking close.

"Oh, I came for a checkup," George answered awkwardly.

"A checkup? You're as strong as an ox. Got a secret ailment?" Ethan joked.

"What about you guys?" George quickly changed the subject, glancing at Amelia.

"Oh, I have good news. I'm getting married because of a baby!" Ethan said excitedly, patting Amelia's hand.

Susan frowned, glancing at Amelia's still-flat belly. 'Is Amelia pregnant?' she thought.

Susan met Amelia's eyes, and Amelia, with a smug look, raised her chin and gave Susan a cold smile.

George chimed in, grinning, "Really, Mr. Robinson? Pregnant before marriage, huh?"

"Don't make it sound so bad. We're getting married next month. You must come," Ethan corrected, then turned to Susan. "And Ms. Wilson, you're invited too."

Susan smiled politely, not committing either way.

"Congrats! Have you met the parents? No objections?" George asked.

Ethan laughed, "We just found out. I'm taking Amelia to meet my parents tonight. They've been wanting a grandchild, so they'll be thrilled."

George just smiled, "Good luck!"

"I need to help Amelia buy a gift for my parents. Let's catch up later!" Ethan said, walking away with Amelia.

"Bye!" George waved.

After they left, George sneered, "Ethan's being played by Amelia. Where's his brain?"

"Maybe he thinks it's true love," Susan said lightly.

"Wait, aren't you and Amelia enemies? Why so calm?" George asked.

"For my child, I need to stay calm. If it doesn't concern me, I won't care," Susan replied.

"That's the spirit!" George praised.

Then he slapped his forehead. "We forgot the prenatal records."

"I forgot too," Susan said quickly.

"You wait here, I'll get them," George said.

"Okay," Susan nodded.

George headed back into the clinic.

Susan looked up and saw Amelia coming back alone. She frowned.

Did Amelia forget something? But Ethan wasn't with her.

Amelia approached with a smug look. "Susan, didn't expect it, did you? I'm marrying into a wealthy family, while you still haven't."

Susan gave a cold smile. "Amelia, don't be too smug. You haven't married into the Robinson family yet."

Susan knew Amelia well. She probably sent Ethan away to show off. But she was too impatient; she should wait until she was actually married.

Susan's words made Amelia's voice sharp. "You're just jealous. I already have a child. Marrying into the Robinson family is a done deal ."
