Chapter 1377 Worthy or Not

Cecilia couldn't take Elowen's constant pleading and complaints anymore, so she finally gave in and agreed to be her bridesmaid.

After all, she just had to stick close to the bride during the ceremony. Once the wedding was over, she could slip away without having to mingle with the Fields family's friends and relatives.

The day before the wedding, Cecilia caught the earliest flight to Maple Valley.

At 2 PM, Elijah sent a car to pick her up from the airport and take her to the bridal shop.

This bridal shop was located outside the main city area. It catered to high-end clients, so it wasn't in a bustling district but rather in a more secluded spot. Despite its location, the building was grand, and the interior was lavishly decorated. The clients came here through word-of-mouth recommendations among the upper class, not because of the storefront. The service was top-notch, and the wedding dresses were from world-renowned brands, with prices to match.

Cecilia stood in the lobby of the bridal shop with a small suitcase when Elijah and Elowen greeted her.

"Cecilia!" Elowen exclaimed, rushing forward to take her hand.

Cecilia glanced at Elowen, noticing that while her belly wasn't showing yet, it wasn't as flat as before. However, her smile radiated happiness.

"Just looking at you, I can tell you're really happy now. That puts my mind at ease," Cecilia said, holding Elowen's hand with a smile.

Elowen looked up at Elijah, blushing. "I'm so glad you could come. You know I don't have many people from my family who can attend my wedding."

Hearing this, Cecilia felt her sympathy stirred. She patted Elowen's hand in comfort.

At this moment, Elijah greeted Cecilia with a smile, "Cecilia."

Cecilia responded, "I'm no longer part of the Fields family. I'm older than you, so if you don't mind, just call me Cecilia like Elowen does."

Elijah touched his nose and smiled, "Alright, I'll call you Cecilia for now, but I hope one day we'll be family."

Cecilia's lips twitched at his words, but she didn't reply.

The atmosphere became a bit awkward.

Elowen quickly interjected, "Cecilia, I have a few dresses prepared for you. Why don't you try them on?"

"Sure," Cecilia nodded.

Elowen called over a sales assistant, who warmly led Cecilia to the VIP fitting room on the second floor.

Elijah and Elowen had picked out several dresses for Cecilia. She chose a modest, light pink mid-length dress that wouldn't overshadow the bride.

A few minutes later, Cecilia had changed into the dress, and the sales assistant led her to a living room on the second floor.

The room was surrounded by mirrors, with a set of European-style leather sofas in the center. The table was already set with various fruits and drinks.

Elijah and Elowen were sitting on the sofa, chatting and laughing.

Cecilia spread her hands and smiled, "How do I look?"

She was wearing a light pink, off-the-shoulder, high-waisted dress that ended just below her knees, with a slit in the front showing off her long legs. She paired it with matching high heels, highlighting her slender figure.

Her short hair was neatly styled, and she wore a pair of pearl earrings. The off-the-shoulder design revealed her smooth skin. The simple yet elegant outfit gave her a fresh and refined look.

Elowen stood up and walked around Cecilia, admiring her. "Cecilia, you look stunning. I can't take my eyes off you."

Cecilia blushed. "Stop teasing me."

At that moment, a sales assistant led a tall figure into the room.

"Mr. Daryl Fields, this way, please," a female voice announced.

Cecilia's heart tightened at the sound.

A man in a black tailcoat walked in.

Seeing him, Cecilia felt uneasy.

Daryl was also taken aback, not expecting to see Cecilia.

The air in the room grew tense.

Daryl exuded an air of elegance and charm. His tailcoat fit his tall frame perfectly, and his noble, aloof demeanor was captivating. Even the female staff couldn't help but steal a few glances at him.

He always carried an aura of brilliance wherever he went. Cecilia lowered her gaze, feeling uncomfortable under his scrutiny.

In Daryl's eyes, Cecilia's simple dress made her stand out, her fresh and refined look unforgettable.

Elijah and Elowen exchanged glances, noticing the way Daryl and Cecilia looked at each other.

Elijah stepped forward with a smile, "Daryl, you're here?"

"Yeah," Daryl nodded, then walked over to Cecilia. "When did you get back to Maple Valley?"

"An hour ago," Cecilia replied, glancing at Daryl.

She didn't know where to put her hands.

Daryl nodded and turned to Elijah, "This dress looks great. Let's go with this one."

"I agree," Elijah replied with a smile.

Cecilia thought to herself, 'He just came over to say hello because he saw me. Look at you, getting all nervous. Do you think he still has feelings for you?'

But she couldn't help but notice how meticulously dressed Daryl was. Even though he was Elijah's brother, did he really need to dress so formally?

Elowen stepped forward with a smile, "Daryl, you're the best man, and Cecilia is the maid of honor. Why don't you two stand together and see how you look?"

Cecilia stared at Elowen in surprise.

Daryl was equally surprised.

What? Daryl was the best man?

What? Cecilia was the maid of honor?

Daryl and Cecilia looked at each other in disbelief.

No wonder he was dressed so formally; he was the best man.

No wonder she was here trying on dresses; she was the maid of honor.

As Daryl and Cecilia stood there in shock, Elowen suddenly pushed Cecilia, and Elijah pushed Daryl.
