Chapter 364 Never Be Apart Again

When Susan heard that, she felt a stab of guilt. It was almost midnight, and Seb hadn't even had a bite to eat.

"You've been looking for me all night?" Under the moonlight, Susan looked up and locked eyes with Seb.

Seb sighed, "Yeah, I went to pick you up from work today, hoping to surprise you. But I ended up sitting in the car from 5:30 to 7:30, waiting until everyone left the office building, and you were nowhere to be found."

Susan frowned.

She had left through the back door today. 'Seb, you dummy! Didn't you know the office building has a back door?' Susan wanted to say.

"I called you over and over, but your phone was always unreachable," Seb continued to grumble.

Susan felt a wave of regret. Why didn't she charge her phone a bit in the office this afternoon?

"I had Leon drive around the streets looking for you. I thought something had happened to you. Finally, I went to your house, and Isabella said you were probably fine and told me to wait at the door. I waited there for two hours," Seb said.

"Couldn't you wait inside?" Susan frowned.

Thinking of Seb standing at the door for two hours, Susan felt a pang of heartache. Seb's legs must have gone numb.

Seb, however, scoffed, "A man and a woman alone in a room, I don't mind, but you get jealous easily. I was afraid you'd misunderstand and get mad at me, so I had no choice but to stand at the door."

After saying this, Seb looked down at his feet in leather shoes.

Hearing this, Susan immediately shot back, "Jealous? Get mad? How could I suspect you and Isabella? Am I that narrow-minded?"

"Yes, you are!" Seb gripped her hand tightly, staring at her, nodding firmly.

"I..." Susan hadn't finished speaking.

Seb interrupted her, "But I can't help it, I just like you this way!"

Hearing this suddenly, Susan was stunned!

Staring at Seb in front of her, Susan's heart melted instantly.

All the resentment over the past had gradually dissipated. She and Seb seemed to have returned to the past. At this moment, her heart began to race inexplicably.

Susan didn't know what to say to Seb. She racked her brain but couldn't think of a single sweet, mushy word.

In the end, she pulled Seb's hand and walked into the house.

"What are you doing?" Seb was waiting for her response, but she didn't say a word.

"I'm going to cook for you. You're a grown man; can't you take care of yourself?" Susan said fiercely, looking back.

After saying this, Susan felt a bit regretful.

An hour later, Seb, sitting at the dining table, struggled to eat the last bite of the egg and then placed the empty plate on the table.

Right then, Susan quietly slipped out of Hayden's room.

She had told Seb to chow down while she checked on Hayden and Spring. Seeing they were fine, she felt a wave of relief.

When Susan walked back to the dining table and saw the biggest plate was empty, her eyes went wide. "You ate it all?"

Seb looked up, all innocent. "Didn't you tell me to finish it?"

Susan couldn't help but roll her eyes. Why didn't Seb usually listen to her?

Suddenly, Susan felt a warm, large hand grab hers.

She looked up and met Seb's eyes.

Then, Seb took her other hand too, lifting them to his chest. With deep emotion, he said, "I've been waiting for this day for so long. Today, you finally came home with me!"

Susan felt a rush of happiness, like a warm spring bubbling up inside her heart.

Looking at Seb, she couldn't help but press her face against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. "Seb," she said emotionally.

"Yeah?" Seb's hand gently stroked her head, full of affection.

"Let's never be apart again, okay?" Susan hugged Seb's waist tightly, scared that this happiness might slip away. Every time happiness came, it never stayed long. She was terrified something might go wrong. She couldn't leave Seb, or the kids.

"No one and nothing can separate us and our family!" Seb's words were as firm as a vow.

"Okay." Susan nodded happily, then nestled in his arms, closing her eyes in bliss.

When Seb's lips touched hers, Susan immediately pushed his chest with one hand and covered his mouth with the other.

Seb stared at her, totally confused. Why wouldn't she let him kiss her now that they had made up?

"I have something to ask you. Before you answer, don't touch me," Susan said with a smile.

Seb reached up and pulled Susan's hand away from his mouth. Then, catching her off guard, he bent down and scooped her up into his arms.

"What are you doing?" Feeling herself lifted, Susan instinctively wrapped her arms around Seb's neck.

"Didn't you have something to ask me? I'll carry you upstairs to ask," Seb said with a mischievous grin.

"Why can't we talk in the living room?"

"Kids, Mary, and Kathy are all asleep. We shouldn't wake them up," Seb's eyes sparkled with mischief.

Seb carried Susan straight into the master bedroom. Susan frowned and pointed to the guest room, saying, "That's my room."
