Chapter 958 Are you out of your mind
Isabella's message was loud and clear: she was keeping the baby.
Leon's face scrunched up when he heard that.
Just then, a waiter came over with a smile. "What can I get you to drink?"
"I'll have a coffee and a freshly squeezed juice," Isabella started, but Leon cut in.
"Hold up, just the juice," he said.
"Got it, be right back," the waiter nodded and walked off.
"You really shouldn't be drinking coffee right now," Leon told Isabella.
Isabella felt a whirlwind of emotions at his concern.
Sure, he didn't want to marry her or have this baby, but he was still a decent guy. But come on, no woman wanted to skip marriage and kids altogether.
Isabella felt a lump in her throat.
Then Leon went on, "Isabella, I don't want you to go through childbirth. It'll mess with your body, give you melasma, and it's super painful. It could even be dangerous."
Isabella couldn't help but laugh angrily. "If you're here to talk me into an abortion, save your breath."
Leon got all flustered. He reached for a cigarette, but then remembered she was pregnant and put it back.
Watching him, Isabella frowned. What was he even thinking?
Leon tried again, "Isabella, if you agree to the abortion, I'll marry you right away. If you want kids, we can adopt. I'll call an orphanage right now, and we can pick one together, okay?"
Isabella stared at him, totally baffled. What was he even saying?
Under his pleading gaze, she suddenly stood up and snapped, "Leon, are you out of your mind?"
She grabbed her bag and turned to leave.
Just then, the waiter came back with the drinks and accidentally spilled juice all over her.
"I'm so sorry," the waiter stammered.
Isabella didn't care about the juice; she just wanted to get out of there.
Back home, she laughed bitterly at the whole situation. Was Leon losing it?
In the days that followed, Leon didn't come back, but he didn't take his stuff either. Isabella kept finding bags of her favorite things at the door.
She knew who was leaving them. At first, she tossed the bags out.
But he kept at it, and eventually, she gave up fighting it. She texted him to stop, but he didn't reply. After that, Leon went radio silent.
The empty house made Isabella anxious. Seeing his clothes, shoes, and personal items just made it worse.
One weekend, she packed up all his things and sent them to him. However, the safe on the balcony was too big and full of valuable items, so she couldn't send that.
Isabella shot Leon another text, telling him to come get his safe ASAP, but he still ghosted her.
Althogh Leon ignored her, Isabella decided to just let it go. The safe and whatever was inside were his problem, not hers.
A month later, her pregnancy symptoms hit hard. She couldn't keep anything down, and her stomach was a mess.
She used to think morning sickness was no big deal, but now she got it—being a mom was tough.
No matter how rough it got, Isabella was set on having this baby. She already felt a strong bond with the little one. This kid was going to be her family.
One weekend, she decided to go out and buy some baby clothes.
Coming down from the sixth floor, she had to take breaks. She moved carefully, knowing the first trimester was tricky.
Just as she stepped outside, she saw a familiar figure next to a sleek black car.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, giving Leon a cold look after not seeing him for days.
"I'm taking you somewhere," Leon said, grabbing her wrist before she could refuse.
Isabella yanked her hand away and snapped, "We're done. I'm not going anywhere with you."
She turned to leave, but Leon grabbed her and dragged her into the car.
"Drive!" he ordered, and the car sped off.
Isabella pushed his hand away and tried to open the door, but it was locked.
"What the hell, Leon? What are you doing?" she yelled.
"You'll see," he said, his eyes cold.
"Where are you taking me?" she asked, fear creeping in as she instinctively placed a hand on her belly.
Leon stayed silent, his face serious.
No matter how much she shouted or pleaded, he didn't say a word.
Sensing something was really wrong, Isabella pulled out her phone to call the cops. She had to protect her baby.
Leon saw what she was doing and snatched the phone from her.
"Give it back, you jerk!" she screamed, but she couldn't get it back.
The car pulled over, and the driver got out to open the back door. Leon stepped out first, then pulled Isabella out.
She looked up and saw they were at a large private clinic.
Her heart sank, and her legs felt like jelly.
What was he planning? Why bring her here?
Then it hit her—abortion.
She shook off his hand and asked, panicked, "Leon, why did you bring me here?"
"We can't keep this baby," he said, frowning.
