Chapter 893 Coercion

Susan was pretty stoked about heading to work with Seb.

The car rolled up to the Prosperity Group entrance, and the driver hopped out to open the door for Seb.

Out of nowhere, Susan grabbed Seb's hand. "Seb, you gotta promise me something."

"What's up?" Seb raised an eyebrow, noticing how serious she looked.

"In the office, I'm your secretary, not your wife. We should keep it professional, right?" Susan said with a smile.

Seb paused for a second, then pulled her close. "Soon enough, everyone at Prosperity Group will know you're my wife."

"But we still need to keep it professional," Susan insisted.

Seb thought it over, then smirked. "Alright, when others are around, we'll keep it professional. When we're alone, all bets are off."

Seeing the playful glint in his eyes, Susan gave him a light slap. "Be serious."

"I can mess around now; once we step out, I won't get the chance," Seb said, giving her hip a playful squeeze.

"Get out of the car!" Susan blushed and pushed him away.

By then, the driver had already opened the back door.

Seb got out first, with Susan following.

Seb strutted into the Prosperity Group, with Susan trailing three steps behind, carrying a briefcase.

As soon as they walked in, Leon, who had been waiting, appeared behind Seb.

Along the way, a bunch of company execs greeted Seb one by one. Susan followed behind Leon, looking every bit the part of a secretary.

When they reached the CEO's office, Seb glanced at Susan before heading inside.

There were a few employees in the office, but none of the old staff, so no one recognized Susan.

Leon introduced Susan to the team, but only as the new CEO's secretary. That's exactly what Susan wanted—no special treatment. She knew their relationship wouldn't stay hidden for long anyway.

Sitting at the place where Ellie used to sit, Susan noticed it had been replaced including desk. She wasn’t sure if Seb or Leon arranged it, but it showed they were thoughtful.

Susan quickly got the hang of her routine. As long as she managed Seb's schedule, handled some communications, and accompanied him to events, her days were pretty busy.

After two days as Seb's secretary, Susan realized all the employees in the CEO's office were men. It felt odd since there used to be more women around.

At four in the afternoon, Susan made a cup of coffee, grabbed a plate of snacks and fruits, and knocked on the CEO's office door.

"Come in!" Seb's voice called out, and Susan pushed the door open.

Susan saw Seb buried in a mountain of paperwork at his desk. She smiled, set the coffee and snacks on the coffee table by the guest couch, and said, "Hey, it's afternoon tea time. Take a break!"

Seb, usually so focused, pushed the documents aside, got up, stretched, and walked over to the couch. He grabbed a snack and popped it into his mouth. "Mmm, delicious."

Seeing him enjoy the food, Susan smiled and started massaging his shoulders.

Seb soaked in the food and Susan's care, feeling pretty content.

"Hey, something's been bugging me," Susan said, frowning.

"What's that?" Seb asked, sipping his coffee.

Susan perched on the armrest of the couch, leaning in a bit. "Why are all the employees in the CEO's office men? Not a single woman. I don't even have anyone to chat with."

Seb just smiled and kept sipping his coffee.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" Susan asked, puzzled.

Seb looked at her with a grin. "Didn't you tell me not to have a female secretary?"

Susan suddenly got it.

She had mentioned it to Seb a few days ago, but it was just a casual remark. She never thought he'd actually replace all the staff with men.

Feeling a wave of happiness, Susan looked at Seb, dumbfounded.

Seb touched her face, smiling. "What's wrong? Are you scared?"

"Why would I be scared?" Susan frowned.

Seb's smile deepened. "Because you're my only female secretary now, and I expect you to help me with everything, even my intimate needs."

"Stop it!" Susan playfully hit his arm and got up to leave.

"Where are you going?" Seb called out as she walked away.

Susan turned and smiled. "Afternoon tea time is over. Gotta get back to work."

"This tea break was too short. Guess I'll have to eat slower next time," Seb said, shaking his head.

"Next time!" Susan laughed and walked out of the office.

Just as she sat down at her desk to organize Seb's schedule for the next day, she heard the click of high heels.

Susan looked up and froze.

It was Ellie.

Susan didn't expect Ellie to show up. Ellie looked as polished as ever, but there were signs of fatigue on her face.

Ellie was momentarily stunned to see Susan taking her place, and then her anger flared.

Ellie stormed up to Susan's desk, eyes blazing. "Susan, feeling proud? You've taken Seb and my job!"

Susan stood up slowly, raised her chin, and said calmly, "Ellie, if something belongs to you, no one can take it away; if it doesn't, you can't keep it no matter how hard you try."
