Chapter 1134 Wedding Gift
Hearing this, Cecilia furrowed her brows. "Do I have to deliver it myself?"
Cecilia really didn't want to interact with Skylar anymore.
"You interviewed Victoria, so of course, you have to deliver it. Go pick a gift now and let Arabella go with you, so you can discuss it together."
"Okay." Cecilia had no choice but to agree.
Cecilia and Arabella spent half a day at the mall and finally picked out a pair of crystal swan ornaments, symbolizing eternal love.
After buying the gift, Cecilia contacted Kennedy and explained her purpose. Kennedy told Cecilia to wait for a response.
Soon, a few minutes later, Kennedy called back saying that Victoria was trying on wedding dresses at a bridal shop and asked Cecilia to go there now.
Hearing Kennedy's words, Cecilia felt a bit nervous.
However, at this point, Cecilia couldn't change the time and had to go to the bridal shop.
Cecilia drove the magazine's car absentmindedly, and Arabella noticed her distraction.
"Cecilia, you don't seem to be in good spirits today?" Arabella, sitting in the passenger seat, asked Cecilia.
"Well, maybe it's because I've been working overtime these past few days," Cecilia replied.
"You have been working hard lately," Arabella said.
Looking at the traffic ahead, Cecilia's mind was blank.
She knew Daryl would definitely be there, trying on wedding dresses and suits with Skylar.
Cecilia didn't expect such bad timing today, thinking she could just hand the gift to Skylar and leave.
As for being a bridesmaid, she could just change her phone number and never interact with Skylar again.
She didn't know how she would feel seeing Daryl and Skylar in their wedding attire. She thought she was strong and could let go, but now, Cecilia felt it was hard to even breathe.
When she parked the car, Cecilia suddenly felt a wave of nausea.
Noticing Cecilia's discomfort, Arabella frowned and asked, "Cecilia, what's wrong?"
"I ate something bad last night, my stomach feels awful, I need to go to the restroom," Cecilia replied.
Hearing this, Arabella said, "Go ahead, I'll get the gift from the trunk, and we can meet in the bridal shop's lobby, okay?"
"Okay, thank you, Arabella," Cecilia said gratefully.
"No need to be so polite." Arabella smiled.
Then, Cecilia quickly got out of the driver's seat and hurried into the bridal shop.
"Miss, where is the restroom?" Cecilia asked the staff in the lobby.
"Over there." The staff pointed in a direction.
"Thank you," Cecilia said and ran towards the restroom, covering her mouth.
Cecilia pushed open the restroom door, didn't have time to close it, and started vomiting in front of the sink.
Cecilia vomited so much that she felt like she was throwing up bile. Coupled with the sadness in her heart, she felt like she was going to collapse.
But even if she collapsed, she had to hold on.
Today, she would give the gift to Skylar and say goodbye to Daryl and Skylar, never to see them again.
At this moment, a figure in a black suit came out of the men's restroom and happened to pass by the women's restroom. Hearing the continuous vomiting sounds inside, the man glanced inside unintentionally.
Seeing that familiar figure, Daryl stopped.
He saw Cecilia vomiting continuously in front of the sink, and his brows furrowed tightly.
After vomiting, Cecilia's tears and snot came out. She washed her face with the tap water, grabbed a tissue to wipe her face, and walked out of the restroom.
Unexpectedly, she almost bumped into a wall of flesh.
"Sorry!" Cecilia didn't even look up and tried to walk away.
But the figure moved aside and blocked her path.
Seeing this person deliberately blocking her, Cecilia looked up.
When she saw the person's face clearly, she was stunned.
She thought, 'Daryl? What a small world, even going to the restroom, I could run into him.'
"What's wrong with you?" Daryl asked, staring at Cecilia.
"None of your business!" Cecilia said and turned to leave.
But Daryl grabbed her wrist and urgently asked, "Why are you vomiting continuously? Don't tell me you ate something bad again; you can't be eating bad food every day, right?"
Cecilia was both angry and flustered by Daryl's questioning, and her tone became even more aggressive. "I do eat bad food every day, what does it have to do with you? Don't forget, you're no longer my backer, you have no right to talk to me like this!"
After saying that, Cecilia tried to shake off Daryl's hand, but she couldn't.
"Let go of me, don't you hear?" Cecilia struggled a few times, but Daryl's hand was like a steel clamp, unshakeable.
"I may not have the right to control you now, but why are you here? If you're here to ruin my wedding with Skylar, I have the right to deal with you!" Daryl's eyes stared fiercely at Cecilia.
Obviously, Cecilia's words had angered Daryl.
Hearing this, Cecilia was both anxious and angry. "Daryl, who do you think you are? Let me tell you, my life is very fulfilling now, I don't have the time to ruin your wedding with Skylar, and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, so you won't bother me again!"
Hearing this, Daryl's hand inexplicably loosened, and he took a step back.
Sensing Daryl seemingly too angry to speak, Cecilia also felt bad.
"Skylar and I will definitely be happy for a lifetime," Daryl said through gritted teeth.
"That's the best!" Cecilia said, then turned and quickly walked away with her bag.
Daryl watched Cecilia's departing figure, feeling heartbroken.
When Cecilia arrived at the bridal shop's first-floor lobby, Arabella was already waiting there.
"Arabella, I'm sorry to keep you waiting," Cecilia said apologetically.
"It's okay, I already asked, Ms. Tate is in the VIP room on the second floor," Arabella said.
"Then let's go up." Cecilia took the gift from Arabella and walked shoulder to shoulder with her to the second floor.
On the second floor, Cecilia and Arabella saw Kennedy waiting at the VIP room door.
"Ms. Thorne, please go in by yourself. Ms. Tate is very happy to know you're here," Kennedy said with a smile.
Hearing this, Cecilia knew they still wouldn't let Arabella in.
Arabella, being sensible, said to Cecilia, "Cecilia, I'll wait for you here."
