Chapter 660 Torture

Susan could only hold back her tears and comfort them, "I've been busy with work lately, but I'll come to see you as soon as I can."

Fortunately, Hayden and Spring were understanding and didn't cling to her.

Susan put Spring down on the ground, and Hayden held Spring's little hand, saying, "Mommy, I'll take good care of Spring. You don't need to worry about us. Focus on your work."

"Goodbye, Mommy!" Spring waved her little hand at Susan.

Seeing this, Susan felt extremely sad, but she had to hold it in and not show it, forcing a smile on her face.

"Goodbye!" Susan waved back at them.

At that moment, what she wanted most was to hug them both and kiss them.

But Susan knew she couldn't do that; it would only make the children sad and more reluctant to leave her.

So, the next moment, Susan left the villa with a heavy heart.

The following days were tough for Susan.

She worked hard during the day but tossed and turned at night.

As time passed, Susan missed Hayden and Spring more and more.

However, whenever she thought of the conditions Seb had set, she hesitated and resisted.

Although she missed her children, she also had her pride. She didn't want to lose her dignity just to see them.

Besides, she knew it was all a game to him. He had no shortage of women willing to warm his bed. This was about control, about punishing her.

At first, Susan held firm. But as the days turned into weeks, her resolve began to waver.

After half a month with no sign of her children, Susan was going crazy.

So, she thought of many ways to see them.

Susan waited near the villa, hoping to catch a glimpse of the children when Seb and Rylee were not home, but the two bodyguards at the gate made this impossible.

She secretly called Kathy, but Kathy didn't dare let her see the children because Seb had already made arrangements. Even if Kathy wanted to take the children out, bodyguards would follow.

Susan knew it was impossible to see Spring, so she could only try to find a way to see Hayden at his preschool.

Hayden attended a prestigious preschool with very strict management. Seb had already informed the school that no one except him and designated people could pick up or see Hayden.

Although Susan called Hayden's teacher and pleaded, the teacher didn't dare let her see Hayden. Susan understood the teacher's predicament; if Seb found out and reported it, the teacher could lose her job. So, Susan didn't make things difficult for the teacher. However, the kind teacher did send her a few photos of Hayden at school.

Seeing Hayden's photos only intensified Susan's longing for her children.

Susan missed them so much that she was on the verge of a mental breakdown, and she was listless at work.

Isabella, who spent every day with Susan, naturally noticed something was wrong.

One day during lunch break, Isabella walked into Susan's office.

Seeing the untouched lunchbox on the desk, Isabella frowned and asked, "Susan, what's wrong with you lately? You seem distracted and gloomy all the time. What difficult situation are you facing?"

Looking up at Isabella, Susan knew she couldn't hide it anymore and replied, "I haven't seen Hayden and Spring for twenty days."

Hearing this, Isabella's eyes widened. "How could that be? Is Seb not letting you see the children?"

"Yes," Susan nodded.

At this point, Isabella couldn't help but curse Leon. "That jerk! Why didn't Leon tell me about this? Of course you're a mess. What happened? Did you two fight again? They're at his house, why would you provoke him?"

"I didn't mean to offend him. It's just..." Susan then explained the whole situation to Isabella.

Hearing this, Isabella sighed and said, "You should have told Seb about this earlier. It was always going to be a problem. Seb is such a proud person; of course, he couldn't stand you hiding this from him for so long. It's no wonder he suspects you and Andrew were in cahoots. Besides, Andrew is always been unscrupulous. You should find a chance to explain everything to Seb clearly. Otherwise, if he misunderstands you, you won't even be able to see the children."

"He won't listen to my explanation. He just assumes that Andrew and I were conspiring from the start," Susan said helplessly.

"No, I need to talk to Leon. He must have a solution." With that, Isabella was about to call Leon.

Susan quickly stopped her. "Isabella, don't call Leon. If he had a solution, he would have told you already. There's no need to wait until now."

"At least he could find a way to bring Hayden and Spring out so you can see them," Isabella suggested.

"No!" Susan shook her head vigorously. "I know Seb's temper. If he finds out Leon did this for me, Leon will definitely get into trouble. Besides, Leon is the person Seb trusts the most. We shouldn't jeopardize Leon's credibility."

Hearing this, Isabella lowered her head in silence.

Seeing Isabella's sad expression because she couldn't help, Susan quickly patted her hand and smiled to comfort her. "Don't worry about me. Seb and I still have some old feelings. I think he's just angry for now. After a few days, when he's calmed down, I'll explain everything to him properly, and it will be fine."

Isabella believed her and advised, "Seb may have a bad temper and be very proud, but he has a soft heart and genuinely cares for you. When you explain, make sure to have a good attitude and don't be too stubborn!"

"I understand," Susan nodded quickly.

In reality, Susan knew that this issue couldn't be resolved just by having a good attitude and saying a few nice words.

Another week passed, and Susan still hadn't seen Hayden and Spring, and there was no news from Seb.

As time passed, Susan's resolve slowly crumbled.

That afternoon, unable to bear the torment of missing her children any longer, Susan finally picked up the phone and called Seb.

The phone rang five or six times before someone finally answered.

"I'm in a meeting. If you have something to say, say it directly. I don't have time to chat," Seb's impatient voice came from the other end.
