Chapter 1167 I'm Willing to Do Anything for You
Seeing Cecilia's parched lips purse, Daryl deliberately waved another unopened bottle of soda in front of her eyes.
"Really not going to drink?" Daryl tilted his head, eyes fixed on Cecilia.
Seeing the bottle, Cecilia frowned.
Then, she reached out and snatched the soda from Daryl's hand, twisted off the cap, and without caring about her image, tilted her head back and drank more than half of the bottle.
Seeing Cecilia drink the water, Daryl smiled triumphantly.
However, the next moment, Cecilia took out a five-dollar bill from her bag and threw it at Daryl.
"This bottle of soda is only three dollars. I'm giving you five dollars, the extra two dollars are your tip," Cecilia said with a sidelong glance.
Hearing this, Daryl smiled and put the five dollars into his suit pocket, saying, "Thank you for the tip, miss."
"You're welcome!" Cecilia gave him a glance, then stood up, ready to leave.
"Where are you going?" Seeing her about to leave, Daryl quickly stood up.
"Home! Do I need your permission?" Cecilia shouted at Daryl.
"Of course not, but I think you should rest a bit more. I see your feet..." Daryl looked down at Cecilia's feet in high heels.
However, as soon as she stood up, Cecilia really felt her feet hurting.
The shoes she was wearing had high heels and narrow soles, making them very uncomfortable.
Cecilia stubbornly took a couple of steps, but the pain was unbearable, so she had to sit back down on the bench.
HoweverCecilia still turned her back to Daryl, not wanting to say another word to him.
Sensing Cecilia's cold demeanor, Daryl didn't mind and just silently sat with her.
Cecilia was really frustrated at the moment. She hadn't secured any advertisements and had run into the last person she wanted to see, Daryl.
After a while, Cecilia suddenly saw Douglas hurrying over with a shopping bag in hand.
Seeing Daryl and Cecilia, Douglas nodded and greeted, "Mr. Fields, Ms. Thorne."
"Did you get it?" Daryl asked.
"Here, size 7." Douglas quickly took out a shoebox from the shopping bag.
Cecilia looked at Douglas in confusion, then glanced at the pair of sneakers in his hand. Size 7 was her shoe size. Did Daryl ask Douglas to buy shoes for her?
The next moment, Daryl took the shoes from Douglas and, stepping forward, knelt on one knee in front of Cecilia.
Cecilia stared at Daryl in shock, a bit confused by his actions.
The next moment, Daryl reached out and lifted Cecilia's left foot, taking off her high heel.
At this point, Cecilia finally understood that he was going to personally change her shoes.
The next moment, Cecilia immediately struggled to pull her foot back.
But Daryl held onto Cecilia's ankle firmly.
"Daryl, let go of me!" Cecilia frowned, not knowing what Daryl was trying to do.
"I'll let go as soon as I change your shoes," Daryl said seriously, looking up at Cecilia with an undeniable tone.
"I won't wear your shoes. Let go of me, do you hear?" Cecilia said urgently.
At this point, Daryl said firmly, "I'll change your shoes, and then you can leave."
"I don't want you to change my shoes." Cecilia tried to struggle.
But her ankle was under Daryl's control.
Moreover, his large palms were really warm, and when they touched Cecilia's skin, she felt a strange sensation that drove her crazy.
And with people coming and going, their posture was really awkward. If she struggled more, it might attract a crowd.
So, Cecilia chose to remain silent.
Sensing Cecilia's silence, Daryl smiled and put a sneaker on her foot, carefully tying the laces.
He was very meticulous, even adjusting the tightness of the laces for her.
Cecilia looked down at Daryl, who was kneeling on one knee to put shoes on her, feeling bewildered.
She really didn't understand Daryl. Half a year ago, after her miscarriage, he had been so cold and heartless. He hadn't even visited her once after they lost their child. But now, he was willing to kneel on the ground to put shoes on her.
From Daryl's behavior, Cecilia knew he was trying to reconcile with her.
But Cecilia would not agree. No matter what he did, her heart for him had long died!
Soon, Daryl finished changing Cecilia's shoes.
The next moment, Cecilia stood up and took a couple of steps.
At this point, Daryl was still kneeling on one knee, looking up at Cecilia, and asked, "Feeling better? Do you need me to adjust the laces?"
This was the first time Cecilia looked down at Daryl from above. At this moment, his eyes were tenderly looking at her, as if she was the only one in his eyes.
This kind of look was something Cecilia had longed for in the past, but now, it had no attraction for her.
The next moment, Cecilia said, "No need, Mr. Fields. You are not my servant; there's no need for you to do this for me!"
Hearing this, Daryl frowned, then slowly stood up and sincerely said, "Cecilia, if allowed, I am willing to do anything for you."
Hearing this, Cecilia laughed out loud.
Seeing Cecilia laughing uncontrollably, Daryl's brows furrowed tightly.
The next moment, after laughing, Cecilia glanced at the shoebox in Douglas' hand, knowing that the shoes were from a top international brand and definitely not cheap.
So, Cecilia took out two thousand dollars from her bag and casually threw it into the shoebox in Douglas' hand. She said, "I only have two thousand dollars with me. If it's not enough for the shoes, I'll give you the rest another day."
"Cecilia, do we really need to be so clear-cut?" Hearing this, Daryl frowned and looked at Cecilia.
Cecilia coldly said, "Mr. Fields, I have nothing to do with you, and I don't want to have anything to do with you in the future. Your presence has already troubled me. I hope you won't bother me again. Goodbye!"
After saying this, Cecilia turned and left.
After taking a couple of steps, Cecilia suddenly remembered something, turned back, and bent down to pick up her high heels from the ground.
