Chapter 1095 I'll Wait for You to Come Back

Cecilia buried her face in Daryl's neck, inhaling his unique scent.

Daryl's chin rested on Cecilia's forehead. After a moment of intimacy, Daryl said, "After I leave, if anything comes up, call Douglas anytime. He'll help you handle things."

"Okay." Cecilia nodded in response.

She rarely called his phone, and even if she did, it might not go through. So, she always contacted Douglas if something came up.

At this moment, Daryl looked down and saw a hint of reluctance in Cecilia's eyes. Moved, he lowered his head and kissed her lips.

His kiss was intense, filled with reluctance.

Cecilia thought it was a goodbye kiss, so she wrapped her arms around his neck.

The next moment, Daryl led her towards the bed.

Realizing his intention, Cecilia quickly pushed against his chest and said, "No, there's no time!"

Daryl glanced at the clock on the wall; it was almost eight. He then touched Cecilia's nose with his and said, "Half an hour is enough!"

With that, he bent down and scooped Cecilia up in his arms.

Cecilia's hands rested on Daryl's chest, and she lowered her head shyly.

After everything calmed down, Daryl got dressed and kissed the exhausted Cecilia lying on the bed.

Cecilia woke up instantly when kissed on the shoulder.

She opened her eyes to see Daryl already dressed, and the clock on the wall pointed to eight-thirty.

Cecilia sat up quickly, clutching the blanket under her arms. "Sorry, I accidentally fell asleep."

She then tried to get out of bed to find her clothes.

But Daryl pressed her shoulder and smiled. "You're tired. No need to see me off."

Hearing this, Cecilia blushed.

She was indeed exhausted earlier, but she still wanted to see him off.

However, it seemed too late now as she heard the sound of a car horn outside.

Their eyes met, and Daryl touched Cecilia's hair. "I'm leaving."

Cecilia nodded. "I'll wait for you to come back."

Daryl nodded slightly, then turned and picked up his suitcase, leaving the master bedroom.

After Daryl left, Cecilia suddenly thought of something. She quickly grabbed the blanket and ran barefoot to the floor-to-ceiling window.

Glancing down, she noticed Douglas popping open the car's trunk. Daryl passed the suitcase to Douglas, and as he was about to climb into the car, he glanced up at the window on the second floor.

Seeing this, Cecilia quickly hid behind the curtain.

Cecilia didn't want him to see her reluctance. Although they got along well now, it was just companionship; they never spoke of love again.

Thinking of this, the earlier intimacy seemed so ridiculous, and Cecilia felt sad.

When Cecilia looked down again, the car was already gone.

Cecilia slowly sat on the bed, feeling lost in the large master bedroom.

The next day, while tidying up the house, Cecilia couldn't find Daryl's usual book, "One Hundred Years of Solitude."

Cecilia felt a bit panicked; that book couldn't be lost because Daryl had annotated more than half of it.

Cecilia searched all over the villa, but couldn't find it.

No one had been to this villa except her and Daryl. Even if there were a thief, they wouldn't steal just a book.

Finally, Cecilia concluded that Daryl must have taken it with him on his trip. Thinking this, she felt relieved.

A week after Daryl left, Cecilia attended her classes on time but felt bored when she returned home. She ate randomly, slept fitfully, and was constantly missing him.

One afternoon, Cecilia came home from school and suddenly heard noises in the house. Her heart tightened, thinking, 'Could he be back?'

Cecilia excitedly turned the corner and saw someone in the kitchen, so she walked straight in.

"You're back?" Cecilia saw a figure in the kitchen and thought it was Daryl, so she was overjoyed.

The plump figure in the kitchen, wearing an apron, turned around upon hearing someone speak and smiled. "Ms. Thorne, it's me!"

Seeing Freya standing in front of her, Cecilia was momentarily stunned and then filled with disappointment.

She thought Daryl had returned, but it was Freya standing in front of her.

Seeing Cecilia not responding, Freya ran up to her, holding a spatula, and smiled. "Ms. Thorne, are you so surprised to see me that you can't speak?"

Hearing this, Cecilia forced a smile. "Freya, welcome back."

Honestly, it was good that Freya returned because the villa was too empty with just her, making her feel lonely and sometimes scared.

Hearing this, Freya's eyes filled with tears, and she gratefully said, "Ms. Thorne, thank you so much. You kept this job for me for months, waiting for my return without hiring another maid. Don't worry, I'll work hard and take good care of you!"

"Did you handle everything at your home?" Cecilia was not used to seeing someone tear up for her.

"Yes." Freya nodded heavily.

"That's good." Cecilia smiled slightly.

"I'll cook. I made steak, your favorite," Freya said and then ran back to the kitchen.

Hearing that, Cecilia suddenly thought Daryl also liked steak.

An hour later, Cecilia sat at the dining table, enjoying the steak Freya made.

"Ms. Thorne, how does it taste?" Freya asked, smiling.

"Good." Cecilia nodded.

Hearing this, Freya happily wiggled her plump body.

Then Freya suddenly asked, "Ms. Thorne, will Mr. Fields have breakfast at home tomorrow morning?"

Hearing this, Cecilia was stunned for a moment, then said, "He's on a business trip and won't be home for a few days. No need to prepare his meals."

"Okay, when will Mr. Fields be back?" Freya suddenly asked.

Cecilia frowned slightly and said, "Maybe another week."

"Okay." Freya nodded and then went to the kitchen to clean up.

Cecilia looked at the steak in front of her, losing her appetite. She thought, 'he's been gone for a week, when will he be back?'
