Chapter 1340 She Hates Him

Thinking back, Cecilia remembered Elijah feeding Thaddeus spoonful by spoonful, while Azalea assisted nearby. Thaddeus and she were inseparable, so did Daryl think she was deliberately provoking him with this scene?

Cecilia couldn't help but laugh bitterly at the thought. Why would she do that? What good would it do her?

The next moment, Cecilia said coldly, "Daryl, if you don't care about Thaddeus, are you going to stop others from caring too? You're being ridiculous."

With that, Cecilia turned to leave.

But Daryl took a quick step forward and grabbed Cecilia's wrist!

"Ridiculous? You want me to share Elijah with you to prove I'm not selfish?" Daryl spat out.

When Cecilia heard this, her brows furrowed. Unable to bear it any longer, she raised her other hand and slapped Daryl hard across the face!

But Daryl was quick, catching her wrist with his other hand and twisting her arm behind her back.

"Do you think you can still do whatever you want with me? I let you hit me before because I loved you. Now... I despise you. I can't even stand to look at you because you're the most despicable woman in the world!" Daryl pushed Cecilia into the cold wall, pinning her there.

Daryl's insults cut Cecilia deeply, as if a knife had slashed her heart, bleeding drop by drop.

Cecilia gazed sorrowfully at his blurred face in the night, murmuring, "Daryl, even if we can't be together, do you have to hurt me like this? Treat me like trash and humiliate me to feel better?"

If it were a stranger, their insults would only be infuriating. But being hurt by someone she once deeply loved was like a knife to the heart.

Daryl ignored Cecilia's sorrowful gaze, gritting his teeth. "You humiliated me first. You and your family humiliated me. Do you know how painful it was to see you three together at the restaurant today? Don't forget, you're still my wife. Do you have any sympathy for your husband?"

Daryl's eyes were red with rage as he questioned Cecilia.

"You're humiliating yourself. You're too narrow-minded!" Cecilia retorted passionately.

Daryl roared, slamming Cecilia against the hard wall.

Cecilia's bones ached from the impact. She couldn't struggle because his hands gripped her shoulders like iron clamps, and his body trapped hers.

They were both wearing thin robes, their skin almost touching.

At this moment, Cecilia's face flushed with embarrassment.

"Daryl, let me go, do you hear me?" Cecilia struggled, but it was futile.

"I won't!" Daryl stubbornly replied.

"If you don't let go, I'll scream," Cecilia threatened.

Daryl suddenly laughed. "Scream? Scream what? Assault? We're still married. Even if you call the Fields family, it won't matter. Or do you want Elijah to save you? If he comes, I don't mind. He can watch us being intimate."

Daryl's lips brushed Cecilia's ear, his eyes gleaming with malice.

"Daryl, you bastard!" Cecilia cursed at his vile words.

"I'm a bastard, so what?" Daryl angrily kissed Cecilia, silencing her curses.

His kiss was full of punishment and spite, as if he wanted to crush her lips. Cecilia tried to push him away, but her efforts were in vain against an enraged beast, leaving her exhausted.

When Daryl's hand slipped inside her robe, Cecilia bit his lip hard, tasting blood. It was unclear whose blood it was, but their blood mingled together.

The taste of blood only fueled Daryl's anger. His actions grew rougher, as if he intended to take her right there on the balcony.

Cecilia couldn't let him succeed; it would be a lifelong disgrace.

She struggled with all her might, but he didn't budge.

Finally, she kicked his leg, but her slipper fell off, and it only hurt her foot.

Daryl's actions became more outrageous, and Cecilia was on the verge of passing out from anger and helplessness.

Just as Cecilia's face turned pale and she thought she was doomed, she glared at Daryl, her fists clenched in hatred.

Suddenly, a baby's cry echoed through the hallway.

In the quiet night, the cry was piercing and loud.

When Cecilia heard Thaddeus's cry, her heart tightened.

Daryl also heard the baby's cry and paused, stunned.

Seizing the moment, Cecilia pushed Daryl away, ran barefoot out of the balcony, ignoring her torn robe.

Cecilia rushed into the bedroom, quickly closing and locking the door.

Once sure Daryl hadn't followed, she turned on the bedside lamp.

She saw Thaddeus sitting alone on the bed, crying, his chubby hands rubbing his sleepy eyes.

Seeing Thaddeus's tear-streaked face, Cecilia hurriedly picked him up, holding him tightly. "Thaddeus, Mommy's here. Mommy's here."

Thaddeus cried and clung to Cecilia's chest with his chubby hands.

Understanding his need, Cecilia quickly adjusted her torn nightgown to nurse him.
